James' eyes fluttered open as his alarm went off, he was excited for today, but that didn't mean he wanted to get up. A groan escaped his lips as he slowly rolled over, turning the alarm off. He decided it would be best if he got up, so he wouldn't fall back asleep. Almost as soon as he sat up there was a loud banging on the door of his hotel room, his dad's voice could be heard from the other side, "James, wake up, it's going to be a good day." He let out a yawn as he stretched his arms over his head and slowly got out of the bed. He loved traveling, but sleeping in hotel bedrooms for state and national rodeos was never ideal. He let his dad know he was up and walked over to the bathroom, brushing his teeth then getting in the shower. It only took him about five minutes to wash off, then he got out and put on some jeans, a maroon t-shirt, some cowboy boots, and grabbed his cowboy hat. He looked himself over in the mirror, ran a hand through his hair, and slid on his hat before heading out the door where his parents were both dressed and waiting, along with his little brother, Parker. The four of them ate a quick breakfast then headed out to the rodeo, it was the first day of state competitions and all four of them were excited, this was Parker's third rodeo he would be in, he was only nine. As they arrived James led Parker over to a registration table where the two of them both signed in and got numbers for which competitions they were in. Character SheetsNo thread generated. She shook her head, "There was no way you could've known." She continued comforting her, "You can't blame yourself, you didn't do anything wrong." James looked at himself in the mirror, he looked like he had been hit by a truck. His eyes were red, his cheeks were tear stained, his hand was bloody, and probably broken. He shook his head as he looked at himself, he wanted to punch another wall, punch the mirror, punch himself, punch the doctors. He took a few deep breaths before looking around the bathroom and finding a first aid kit. He pulled out some alcohol and poured it over his hand, biting his lip at the pain that he felt for the first time, and wrapped some gauze around it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

James slipped into the bed beside her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close, closer than the night before since she no longer had the big belly. He ran his hands up and down her arms as he kissed the top of her head. 0 players like this post! Like? |
