The air was just beginning to warm as the sun began to come over the mountains and its bright rays began to peek through the trees. Lexa looked around her home, the colors of the forest interesting her, as they always had. The thousands of shades of green met by the creamy brown of the branches and trunks of trees. She drew herself back into the real world and real time. She looked back over her shoulder from atop her war stallion to see her second and a group of guards close behind her. They had been ridding all morning and Lexa had no sleep the night before but she knew that must not bother her, for what ever lied ahead seemed to have much more meaning then sleep.

Lexa knew it would not be long until there arrival to the meeting area. They had left the safety of her clan when the moon hit it's highest point in the sky in the early hours of the dark night. She gripped the reins, which consisted of a fine rope that aloud her to control the beast she sat on top of. On her left near her feet a large wolf hybrid was on high alert making sure no one was to sneak up on them. It was a precaution they took with every time the Commander was to leave the safe walls of the clan. Lexa moved her cold dark gaze back in front of her and shifted her weight on the fur blanket that was between her and the horse.

It was only the night before when she received a very short letter from the clan they knew as the enemy. In the letter was a few words of greeting followed by an invitation for a meeting dated for this morning. After hours of thinking what it might have to do with and whether or not to go she decided she had nothing better to do. "Marcus." She called keeping her gaze ahead knowing within a very short time they would be arriving at there destination.

((Sorry it took so long I fell asleep then had some things to do. I wasn't sure what to put for Costia yet so I am going to hold her off until the next post if that is alright.))

Leon stopped for a moment to admire the scenery. The strip of land that divided the two colonies were lush and green. There were remains of what looked like old houses but he couldn't be sure. He turned his head as the screech of a bird sounded overhead. The had just started it's routine climb into the sky, signaling a new day. Like normal Leon was dressed in his Commander attire. His white horse only helped to improve that. He looked back, making note of his guards behind him. These lands were extremely dangerous night or day. Better safe than sorry. As he continued to look around his horse neighed in impatience. They had all been traveling since yesterday's sunrise and it seemed even his horse was eager to get to the meeting place so it could rest. Leon stroked the four legged creature in a reassuring manner.

He had been the one to call for this meeting. He knew how stubborn the new leader of the colony to the west. She would have never called upon him to attend a meeting. Thus the reason he took it upon himself. They had been enemies for a long time. Even before he became Commander the two colonies had been feuding. First it had been food, now it was over territory rights. Not to mention the constant threat of nearby cannibal herds. Leon sometimes wished they could see eye to eye, and yet other time he was glad they were the only colony living by the saying 'treat others how you want to be treated'. Instead of simply charging into every situation with a sword on hand.

"Costia, approximately what time do you think we will arrive? Wouldn't want to be the ones late to the meeting." Leon asked. "You know how temperamental they can be."

****

Marcus looked up. He lightly snapped the reigns of his horse, causing the brown beast to trot forward a bit. This entire trip had left him feeling curious. He'd never admit that to anyone though. It had come as a surprise when Heda accepted the invitation. Sometimes he would listen as she ranted about how weak the other colony was. "Yes, Commander?" He addressed, stilling his horse by her side. Marcus was always amazed at how composed she could be. Despite her relatively young age, she had been appointed Commander without any thought. He was secretly glad she was the one deciding all the harder decisions.

Lexa closed her eyes for a moment deep in thought hearing a quicken of horse hooves against the ground to catch up to her. She stared ahead of them for long moments in silence trying to piece together what the meeting was about. She shook her head from the thoughts but kept facing forward, "The only people to enter the room are you and I the guards are to wait up top with the horses and to keep and eye on everything. They are to warn me immediately with any sign of attack or aggression. For all I know it may be a attack but it is very unlikely considering how they live and I doubt his people would follow the Commander into that." She said as they began to ride up a small hill, on the other side was the small clearing where in the center is where the entrance was.

"On the other side of this hill is the small clearing. We will wait at the top and wait to see their arrival or if they are already there, I don't want to get into something we can't get out of by arriving early." She added her gaze stayed in front of her the whole time. Her voice was un wavered and clear filled with authority. The small hill was soon tackled by the small group and they reached the top. She pulled back on the ropes and the large black war stallion came to a stop with a snort. Lexa's gaze scanned the area to find it empty, at the moment but knew they would arrive on the other side of the clearing soon. She looked to her side where the large black wolf hybrid stood right at the stallions front legs. Lexa didn't like the feel of the area, she had a feeling she wasn't going to enjoy the meeting either...

---------------------

Costia pulled back on the reins as her Commander stopped and over looked the area for a moment. Her gaze watched him as he reassured the horse before they continued forward. Upon hearing her Commander call for her she gave her horse a nudge and caught up to him before she paced at his side. "There is only about a mile and a half left until the clearing Sir. So we will be arriving very soon." She said and moved her gaze over to him. "Sir I have to ask if you are still wanting to go through with this, the West clan is unpredictable and heartless and I have gathered some information that the new Commander is far worse then the last." She said being sure not to over step her boundaries or question her Commanders way's. She kept her gaze on him and waited patiently for an answer or to be waved away.

Leon nodded his head at both of her questions. "I've heard a lot about this new Commander actually. I hear she is the most ruthless of all the Commanders, and the youngest. But because she is younger maybe she'll be able to...get where we're coming from." He replied. "The cannibals are rising in numbers these days. We lost two clan member just four sunrises ago. I know they are having the same issues as us. With the cannibals pushing their boundaries they are backing both of our colonies into a corner, one we may not be able to escape from. I may be young but I have hopes for this generation, Costia. So yes, I'm absolutely sure about this."

"Come, let us ride and talk. I have a feeling they are already there." Leon lifted up his hand then pointed forward. He then grabbed the reigns of his horse more firmly. The horse neighed as he snapped the reigns. The white beast galloped forward, and soon his guards were following after. Truth be told he was nervous about meeting these people. He grew up thinking of them as savages but slowly started to go easy on them. He couldn't hate a way of life he had never lived. "Costia, there will be a small clearing at the meeting place. You and I shall be the only ones going into the underground area. I would like for you to tell the guards to keep a messenger bird on hand. You never know with these types of things."

*

Marcus listened as Heda spoke. Once she was done he decided it would be now or never for him to speak. "What could they possibly want from you, Heda? What do you think they are after?" He asked as he looked toward the horizon. Those peace making bastards had better hurry or he was going to storm down the hill in search of them. He just wanted to get this meeting done with. The air here was stuffy and hot, while the ground felt like sludge. He couldn't believe that at one point in time the Earth had been clean. Sure it got hot, but back then their hadn't been any fumes polluting the air. There had been animals running around and places like this had been homes to thousands of plants along with animals. Now, he wouldn't set up camp here if you offered him the Commander spot. Still, he couldn't help but wonder what it had been like before.

His mother and father told stories of a whole new type of world. Humans could get into these magical metal things that carried them from place to place. They could go to places where giant metal birds would allow them to soar over seas. However, his parents also told stories of humanity damaging the Earth. Oil, fumes, and pollution was of no concern back then it seemed. Until whatever disaster hit the planet. That was a long, long time ago though. Whatever had happened the planet was still healing from it. Generations had passed, so of course it came as a shock when he thought about it. "Heda, ma'am, have you even met the new Commander from the east colony? Know anything about him?"

Costia looked over to her Commander as he spoke and she kept quite, making sure not to inturupt him. She knew that he was right but it was only expected of her to worry for the safety of the Commander and go through all the possibilities that could possibly happen at anytime given time. He was right about everything, maybe it was possible to reach out to this Commander her being so young espsially young for someone running a clan of savage monsters. Though she was young she seemed to be savage herself having the same mind set as all the past Commanders but hers seemed to be more intense. She hoped that what ever her Commander was to bring up at this meeting she would at least try to look at it from someone else's point of view other than her own and her people's. Costia gave a nod and kicked her horse into a gallop after her Commander. Receiving his order she pulled back to nodify the guards about what was to happen when they got to the clearing. Once she finished informing them she rode back up to her Commanders side.

Costia caught up to him and looked ahead as they rode towards the clearing. "Are you afraid that any motion brought up and that she agrees to could make her people turn on her and have her killed for makin such a dicision?" She asked her Commander curiously. She looked ahead knowing that soon they would come to the clearings beginning. She had an uneasy feeling, something any reasonable person would obtain when coming face to face with such people, there enemy's....

--------------

Lexa move her dark green gaze over to Marcus as he spoke up after she had finished. "It may not exactly be what they want from me but what they want for their people and how far they are willing to go to get it. As Heda and speaking for Commander we are all after one main thing. We want our people to survive and thrive and for us you sacrifice the some for the many if it comes to those qualifications. Any Commander will tell you that their people come before anyone else even if they may not say it that is a duty of a Commander and to not fifil that duty is to be no one at all." She spoke to Marcus calmly as she looked ahead of her to cheek and see if they have arrived yet, which they hadn't but she had a feeling it would be soon.

Lexa turned her head as Marcus requested for her attention again. She sighed and felt the monstrous beast bellow her shift impatiently and snort with an angry bob of his head. She gave him a pat on the shoulder before she began to speak, "The East clan has always been the exact opposite of us when it comes to our ways of doing things and perusing things. I have not yet met the Commander who I hear of but he sounds as much the same as the last but seems more determined to bring peace through the lands by creating treaties. " She said as she moved her gave from Marcus back to the plan in front of them to see if they had arrived her patients thinning.

Leon looked over at Costia once more. Of course he had thought of something like that. If the new west clan leader accepted his proposal and her colony members pulled mutiny on her, it would put his people at risk. "I believe that won't be a problem in the long run. Even though they are rougher than us their loyalty is unwavering from what I've heard. If that is true, we won't need to worry about that. Mind you I would prepare us for whatever they through at us. Trust me on that one." He replied, smiling. "Now, before we arrive I have to quickly inform you of what I will be proposing. You may call me insane for even suggesting this but I will offer them a treaty that will unite us together. Temporarily of course. Why you may ask? Because I'm growing fed up with the cannibals picking us off one by one. Each week, someone dies. And I can't stand it any longer. The issue with these man eaters is growing each day and both colonies know it."

As Leon finished talking the small group sped over the line that separated their lands with the meeting place. He slowed his horse to a stop as he took in his surroundings. The ground was covered in what looked like mud but had an oily blackness to it. He looked around, trying to spot signs of the other clan. "Tevio, bring out the dog." He called over his shoulder. One of the guards reached behind him an undid some ropes that had been holding down a box. The guard open up the box, pulling out a dog. He then carefully dismounted with the dog in tow. As soon as he released the dog it began to run around the premises, searching for any types of scents. Then suddenly, the canine began to bark toward the hill on the opposite end of the meeting area center.

((Didn't know what to put for Marcus this post so I'll leave it until the next one. Also, this is the dog: http://ghk.h-cdn.co/assets/cm/15/11/480x552/550020c67e020-ghk-dogs-beagle-xl.jpg ))

Lexa was watching the perimeter when she noticed a small group break from the line of growth around the area and into the darkened clearing. Her eyes narrowed as she watched them intently as they made their way towards the center of the clearing. She had to look closely but she watched as a fellow guard brought out a dog who had run around until it caught scent of them and pointed them out in the hill of the opposite side. Lexa's eyes moved the rough the group and it became obvious who the commander was out of the small gathering. Wearing almost all white followed by a white steed. Lexa's eyes shot to the wolf hybrid who didn't take kindly to the smaller creature pointing them out. The hybrid began to run down the hill and the stallion moved his feet impatiently. "Hod op! (Stop!)" She Commanded towards the hybrid and he froze his teeth bared and his fur on end. She looked back over her shoulder to a guard. "Tie him up, keep him handy though." She said and faced forward again as a man hoped off the horse and slipped a rope over the hybrids neck and led him back into the group. Her face held no sign of emotion or feelings as she kicked the eager stallion forward into a gallop.

The large beast thundered down the hill and towards the other group. The air was think and tense as she neared the other clan with her own. She came to a quick stop about ten yards away from the others and her horse snorted and pawed at the ground angrily. Lexa moved her gaze to the other Commander but stayed silent and on top of her horse. Lexa made sure to keep her distance from the group and let her gaze move to the Commander. This was the first she had seen of him, they seemed so clean and pure and she didn't like it. She cleared her throat slightly before announcing towards the group in front of them. "I, Commander of the West Clan received an invitation for a meeting 2 sunrises ago and am here to attend."

------------------

Costia nodded in understanding but when he spoke about the reason he called the meeting for she was taken back for a second. She raised an eye brow and thought for a long moment before rigging after her Commander into the clearing. She k 're it was no time to warn him of this large bold action but she feared and knew that he already knew. She sat quietly not knowing what to say or rather what to think at the moment. She was snapped from her confusion upon hearing the dog bark towards a hill on the opposite side of the clearing. She moved her gave over and first only saw a wolf who began to run down a hill but immediately stopped in its tracks upon hearing a voice. She moved her gaze up to the top of the hill and saw the West Clan.

Costia's eyes widened as she watched the group ride down the hill after retreating the wolf. She sat tall in her saddle as she watched the largest and darkest horse take the lead and soon came to a stop a little ways from them. The rider, she could only imagine it being the commander of the West Clan. She didn't realize how young she was, her age maybe even a little older. She didn't look friendly at all but she did look very mature and powerful. Costia watched her as she spoke and then moved her own gaze to the Commander knowing it was no time for her to speak. She turned her attention back to the other Commander who just seemed cold and heartless and it gave her the chills as her empty eyes burned through all of them. All though it affected her mentally she physically showed no sign of intimidation she sat tall and kept still trying to breath the tense stl air around them.

Leon could practically smell the tension in the air. He could sense just how much his guards didn't want to be standing before them, but he admire the fact they hadn't turn tail and ran. He made a mental note to make sure he watched what he said around this clan. He cleared his throat then began to speak. "I, Commander of the East Clan, humbly thank you for accepting my invitation. I've invited you here to discuss some pressing matters that I believe is putting both of our clans at stake. However, I rather discuss these matters with you personally." He said. He didn't want to have this conversation where his guards could hear. It wasn't that he couldn't trust them, but if he suddenly shoved his entire plan onto them surely they would break down under the pressure and danger of things. Plus, he needed the guards to stay above ground to watch for any signs of trouble.

His train of thought was broken when his tracking dog, Sol, began to bark. Apparently Sol didn't like being in the company of the West Clan because he continued to bark at their leader. Or maybe it was because of that large wolf creature they had managed to tame. When the barking became too much to bear, Leon said, "Please, pardon my dog. Tevio, could you go and collect him?" Immediately, the same guard ran over and picked up the dog. That didn't stop Sol from yapping however. After a few short seconds Tevio managed to lower the barking to a mere growl. With the issue dealt with, Leon turned back to look at the West Clan leader.

*

Marcus watched in silence as the exchange took place. He wasn't listening to anything though. He was already sizing up their enemies in case something happened. The East Clan Commander seemed exactly like the rest. Only with this one he got the feeling he was much more intelligent than the others. The way he carried himself showed that of a leader, unlike some of the guards. He noticed the horse the East Commander had been riding was carrying something. From here he couldn't make it out but it was definitely a weapon. I wonder just how talented you are with that bow, you passive bastard Marcus thought with a hint of scorn. He hated how the East Clan acted so perfect without even trying to. It infuriated him to no end.

His eyes then shifted over towards the Second in Commander. Boy, did she look timid. He could smell it coming off her in waves. He bet he could take out the entire group by himself if he wanted. How pathetic could they really get? He really hoped Heda showed them what for. Whatever they wanted he knew she would say no. They were a strong clan. Even if they were getting killed weekly by cannibals that didn't mean they couldn't win. They could win any fight with a little bit of violence.

Soon the stallion under her settled down and stopped moving his feet and now held still his head high as he looked over who they were with. She moved her gaze from the whole group to the obvious Commander who began to speak after herself. She didn't like the way they looked, to innocent and weak and it made her want to turn and head back with her small group. She turned her head to Marcus behind her and she could feel him accessing the situation. She have him a small warning glare when her attention was snapped forward to the dog who was barking at her. She watched the small dog and at first she thought it might have been the presence of the wolf but soon decided against seeing the small dogs eyes latched to her. She moved her gaze to their Commander as he instructed someone to collect the dog and soon he was quieted to a low growl. She moved her gaze back to the Commander and thought to herself for a moment in silence.

Lexa let go to the reins and replaced it with a handful of the stallions mane as she swung her leg over and landed on the ground facing forward. She let go of the horses mane and leg her hand rest on his shoulder as a guard came and took the reins leasing the beast away. She clasped her hands behind her back and began to walk forward towards the entrenched of the meeting room which was through the small group. She walked him her head high and her gaze stayed in front of her only to waver to the Commander as she reached the old metal door and she turned lifting the bar that locked it and then pulled the heavy door open and looked inside to the dark dusty staircase that led down. Lexa drew the sword at her hip just in case they entered and there were any unwanted visitors and the sound of the sword being drawn made the whole group tense and even the second reach for the hilt of hers. She looked over her shoulder to the Commander. "Shall we." She called coolly and turned and began to walk down the stairs sword in hand.

--------------------

Costia sat tall and watched as the other Commander stayed quite before being interrupted by a very unhappy and uneasy dog which was the emotions everyone was feeling at the moment. She shifted in her saddle and watched as it was mostly taken care of. She watched as their Commander dismounted and walked for the door, some guards pulling their horses to take a step back as she passed. As she drew her sword Costia instantly went for the hilt of hers behind her head but soon realized it was only for precaution if something unexpected might already be down there. She let her hand fall back to her side as she dismounted her horse and looked over to her Commander. Costia was not one for violence but if she needed she would battle, she knew her way around a sword very well as a second should because there the last resort for the protection to the Commander if the enemy is to pass all else. She gave her horse a pat and waited for her Commander before she was to move any more.

Marcus dismounted from his steed. He made sure his club was where he could grab it then ordered one of the guards to lead his horse away. Once his order had been given the Second in Command followed after his Commander. He really didn't want to be underground. It made him feel claustrophobic, almost like he was being buried alive. Plus, if battle took place there would be only one exit. And that would be behind the other clan no doubt. Yet, despite his discomfort, he proceeded to walk pass the metal door and down the steps. The stairs groaned in protest, obviously not having been used in awhile. Inside the stairway it smelled like mold and death. Marcus didn't mind though. He had been smelling the scent of death since he was a teenager. He was pretty much numb to the foul odor. He looked back, not seeing the other Commander just yet. So he decided to ask his Commander a question while he could.

"Heda, ma'am, what do you think this is about? He seemed to have thought this entire meeting over. I could see the look on his face." He whispered. He already knew that his Commander was feeling the same bitterness towards the other clan Commander. They all seemed too...clean, organized, and cheerful. No, not cheerful Marcus thought as he remembered his examination of the East Clan leader's face. Even though the man had greeted them warmly, there was a certain seriousness that hid behind blue eyes. Once again, Marcus found himself reevaluating that Commander.

Leon watched his adversaries disappear down the stairs. He had already sent a scout a week before the invitation so he knew there was nothing down there. He looked over at Costia then nodded toward the passageway. "Let's be going now." He said, walking over towards the large doors. He wondered what Costia was thinking at this time. Surely she had been intimidated by the scary looking bunch. Had he not been Commander, he probably would have been too. Luckily he managed to grow a backbone since the start of his leadership. Leon's legs carried him over and down the steps. By the creek of footsteps he could tell the other clan was ahead of them by a good deal.

Lexa moved down the old narrow staircase and the stairs cheeked and groaned. The area was cold and smelt of death and a thick mold. The scent didn't bug her at all, being use to horrid smells during battle. She turned her head slightly as Marcus took the time to ask his final questions before the meeting. "I hope he had planned the meeting out before hand because I don't want my time being wasted just standing here while he puts his thoughts together. I have other things to be doing and I have made time for this and I would imagine he has too. So, now all he has to do is tell me and we will go from there. This is no time to be thinking of what he is about to tell us, it's a wast of energy. Be patient Marcus the time for us to know will be here shortly." She spoke hushedly, the first part was said sternly but the last was more calm. She knew that it was coming soon and she didn't need to think about it and cause herself to stress over it.

Soon she took a step onto the actual bottom, the room. She stopped for a moment and looked around, it seemed to be visited by someone a little while ago. She sheathed her sword at her hip and walked over to a large meeting table the stretched out in the middle of the room. The room had a dim natural light to it, almost calming to her. She ran her hand on the grains of the table which had the map of their lands engraved into it. She moved her gaze to the chairs 2 pairs directly across from each other, 1 pair facing the entrance and the other had their backs to the entrance. She walked around the table and paced behind the chairs that faced the entrance, she walked slow with her head up as she waited for the other clan to enter the room. She moved her dull gaze to Marcus before moving back to the entrance of the room.

-----------------

Costia watched as the Commander of the West Clan and her second disappeared down the steps to the room. She gave her Commander a nod and walked with him to the door and entered after him. The smell hit her in a wave and made her dizzy for a moment, it was think and almost strangling like the scent of death had shadows that tried to choke the air out of you. She narrowed her gaze and looked past her Commander to see if she could see the bottom or even the other two but she wasn't able to. Costia moved down the stairs carefully and took a deep breath as she relaxed knowing she couldn't show anymore intimidation that they caused her. She looked ahead and felt the area become cooler and she could see the bottom of the stairs. Her gaze moved around the room curiously as they entered the room old and dull. She felt the other Commander hard gaze on her that gave her the chills but she brushed it off and waited for her Commander to begin.

Leon walked downward until his foot his the last step. Unlike the stairs the room had cleaner smelling air and a cool breeze to it. He immediately noticed the other Commander had sat down, so he went to do the same. There was so much riding on this one meeting. If he screwed this up, all this would be for nothing. I need to quite doubting myself. I'm the Commander of my clan for a reason Leon thought as he sat down in the chair on the opposite end of the table. He showed no sign he was nervous but mentally he knew he was. But he didn't have the time to dwell on that. If he stalled any longer, the West Commander would no doubt become displeased. "I'm going to get right down to the point. I called this meeting here because of the rise in cannibal tribes. They are picking off both of our clan members weekly. And I fear this number may rise in the coming months. The man eaters are taking advantage of both us, knowing all too well our clans have fought each other for years. If we don't start looking at the bigger picture we will get wiped out."

He paused for a moment, letting the others in the room digest what he had just said. "My solution to this problem is simple and yet difficult. Our clans need to stop fighting with each other, even if it's only temporary, and unite in order to get a handle on this cannibal problem. Normally I wouldn't even be suggesting something like this. But as the current Commander of my clan I will do whatever it takes to ensure my clan member's safety."

Marcus blinked, once, twice. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. This hadn't been what he originally thought they wanted. Then again, it could still be a ploy to get their lands. He looked over at his Commander, wondering what she was thinking. She would decline the offer, and he knew she would. She was a strong Commander and knew her clan member's were strong as well. So what if they lost a few a week? Their numbers weren't critical. But...whose to say they couldn't become low? Marcus forced the thoughts of doubt down as he simple folded his arms and waited.

Lexa sat in the chair and watched as the pair came from the staircase and sat down. For long moments the air was cold and silent as he seemed to pull his self together before he spoke his motion. She held still and listened to him and stayed quite, sure not to intervene. Lexa knew it was coming, he wanted to join forces to take on the cannibals and rid of them once and for all or to minimize there numbers greatly. Lexa looked ahead her face showed no hint of any emotion or expression. She let the air around them go still as she pushed back her chair and stood up. She turned away from the table, her hands clasped behind her back as she looked at the wall with sort of faded records, it seemed, on them. She gazed at them for a long moment as she thought about what to do...

"It makes sense and I don't like the idea of it at all. Generations of war and bloodshed between us have done different things and now a knew battle arises and yet it is against someone other than the opposite Clan. As a matter of fact I hate the idea of it...." She said her voice even and smooth as she kept her back towards them and still. She had to do what was right for her people and now she is left here to make a decision of who obtains a higher threat, the cannibals or the Eastern Clan. Another long moment of silence before she turned around and looked to the Commander, " Bring picked away and pushed into a corner is not what I am going to let happen. We should take this matter sooner then later before it is too late and we won't be able to take them down even with both of out armies together and that is not a way I want to go down. " She spoke her gaze moving over to Marcus almost sure he would have something to say about this matter. "What is it you want from me exactly?" She asked trying to get a simple answer to know what she had to do.

------------

Costia sat in the silent stiff room and shifted slightly as her Commander made the motion and waited to hear what the other Commander. She watched curiously as she stood up and thought she was about to leave the room without another word but she didn't, she stayed. Costia watched her as almost was arguing with herself and trying to see what would happen if she did agree and what would happen if she didn't. Costia's gaze moved to her Commander as it was turned back on him. She thought there might be a chance for her to agree since she didn't shoot it down right away but she wasn't sure....
