Lexa's gaze followed the other Commander as he walked away towards his desk. Going through a few things he soon found what he had set to look for, some medical supplies. She watched as he moved back to her side and knelt down and without hesitation began to close the wound. The pain didn't faze her but she did shift slightly before holding still. She thought about his words for a long moment before she spoke, "Humans make to many mistakes we are expected to lead them and do no wrong. The spirit of the past commanders choose the one who will win at the conclave. How are your leaders chosen?" she asked, she knew that their ways were different but she had never heard of any other way that commanders where chosen. She only truly believed in their way of doing it but she was curious to see how this clan went about the situation, most likely cleanly unlike their ways of going about anything really...

Leon had never shared his clan's methods of choosing with anyone outside the walls. Just remembering his made him want to cringe. "In my clan, choosing is...difficult. There are plenty of people who could have been Commander. Whenever the current Commander is close to death he picks ten candidates, and those candidates have to go through a series of test and the winner is chosen to be Commander of the clan." He replied. "I hadn't expected to even be chosen for the preliminary rounds. In fact, I remember not wanting to be Commander. But after I saw my competition I knew better than to quite. So, I took the tests. And I ended up on top. I'm really glad that I did though." You have liked this post!

Lexa tilted her head slightly seeing Leon pause for a moment before he began to speak. She listened closely as he spoke of their people's ways and suddenly became curious. "Say you were killed or passed suddenly. Would the second take over that responsibility?" she asked, though she didn't approve of their way of doing things she would not criticize it aloud. She believed that the sports of the past commanders strengthened the chosen one of the nightbloods allowing them to win in the death battle between all of their kind. She believed that that was the only way to do it properly and that the past commanders would choose wisely and not to be foolish.

Leon nodded. "Yes. But usually the current Commander leaves a document that has chosen names on it. So that the test can be done again, unless the Commander specifically says he or she wants the second to take their place. Our ways are probably very different from yours. How do you choose your Commanders?" He asked as he continued to stitch the wound. The skin around the area slowly began to close, and he took a moment to dab at the wound with the rag next to him. "I apologize for this taking so long. The wound is extremely deep." You have liked this post!

Lexa gave a slow nod as he spoke and all the pieces of the puzzle on how their Commander was chose came together. She understood it but she believed that there was much room for mistake in a process like that. She moved her gaze around the room taking in the details of the clean organized quarters. She paused for a moment letting the quite air settle as she thought, she had never told anyone outside her walls of how each leader was chosen but she felt the need to speak up now. "When every child is born they are carved with the mark of or clan on their right hip. Mainly what we look for is the gift of a deep black blood instead of the normal red. If the child has black blood they are recorded and sent back with their mothers until 12 full moons where they are then brought to the capitol to train. Each nightblood is raised to fight and taught the way of the Commander and are blessed with the secrets of the clan." Lexa then moved her gaze down to Leon as she watched him to appear to help heal the wound effortlessly, before she continued. "These kids male or female train for the day that might never come during their time, when the Commander falls and is lifeless. That is when the real choosing begins. They go through a purification with the passed commander and bless their body before in the next days they all will be set up and fight to the death. The one with the Spirt of the past Commanders on their side will win the battle and go through the process of being declared Commander of the West Clan." she finished and shook her head as he spoke. "No need."

Leon took note of the blackened blood that he sopped up with his cleaning rag, but said nothing about it. "I see, very interesting. You're people have a different way of doing it. But in the end, we both still go through testing phases." He said. "Sometimes I wonder exactly why our clans have been fighting each other for so long. Not even I can vouch for the reasons that have been spewed into my brain from a young age. Mainly because those tales sound just as that, tales. I don't believe our clans could suddenly get along. For I am not that naive on the subject. But I do believe we can learn to tolerate one another presence. Just as you and I are doing right now." Leon finished sealing up the wound, covering it in a light bandage. "There, that should be enough to stop the bleeding and any infection from seeping in. Just don't do anything that might damage the stitches." You have liked this post!

Lexa listened as he spoke of the 2 clans and tolerating each other. It was barely happening now but it was taking a slight motion. She watched as it was stitched closed and the rare black blood, indicating she was a descendent of the first commander of the clan, had bleed no more. "We want different things in the end and will do different things to get it whether it be peace..." she paused gestured to him and his clan for a moment before she pulled on the tank top and continuing her dull green eyes meeting his, "Or with bloodshed. To each other or ways may be disgusting and cruel and unreasonable but it's how we survive and we must except that our clans might never see it when we do..." Lexa turned and began to walk to the door and pulled it open she turned her head and looked to her right but didn't look straight back at him. "Moch....(Thank....)" Lexa stopped her words before she slipped out of the room and soon back outside. The rain fell on her skin and she thought for a moment, though he didn't know what she was saying or what she started to say she almost felt different those words have never left her lips and that's why she stopped, she hard almost aloud herself to be put under someone she would be sure that wouldn't happen again...

Leon watched the West Commander go. He sighed quietly before taking the sodden towel and placing it back in the box. He set the box back in it's hiding place then sat in his chair. His mind wandered while he continued with his evening chores. However, he found his conscious straying far away. Back to the Commander with black blood and an entirely different foundation of life than his own. In less than a month, he and many clan members would have to travel to the West Clan territories in order to practice fighting and battle skills. He didn't know what he was more concerned for. His people, or his mental state of mind. Deep down he knew Heda scared him, terrified even. But it was his will that allowed him to stay looking her in the eye, and not back down. Whatever occurred at the West Clan, he would handle it the same way he always did. Using his head. You have liked this post!

Lexa moved her exhausted body back to the camp, being sure not to let it show though. As she walked she was in thought about a lot of things, how their Clans were so different but truly the same they all wanted the same thing and would to the same thing. They both out their people first, no matter what the situation. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she entered her clans set up who most where still awake noticing that Heda had left and were going to make sure she returned safely. They all seemed to relax seeing her but their eyes moved to the hole and dried blood on her shirt and she ignored their worried gazes. "Where is Marcus." She asked her voice even with a tone that showed she wanted to deal with no problems and she definitely wasn't in the mood. She stopped walking and stood still as she waited for her second, she wasn't going to sleep tonight not after that event. She was going to bring her wrath to the man that attacked her and that's all she cared about in the moment.

Marcus walked out of his makeshift tent at the sound of his name. His gaze shifted from worried to curious in just a few moments of seeing his Commander return okay. Mostly anyway. "Yes, Heda? I am here. We received a man from one of the East Guards. He said the man was to be locked away until your return, correct?" He asked, remembering the bulky guard that dropped of the man. What had he done that required them to hold him? The guard hadn't gave any hints what so ever. However, by the steely gaze of his Commander, Marcus figured the man had to have done something horrible in order for Heda to request his imprisonment. You have liked this post!

Lexa was thinking of what she could do, well she knew she had to return the man alive and breathing, but that ment he would be barely alive when he stepped foot into his clans walls. She was pulled from her thoughts hearing the approach of her second. Turning her head she faced him letting a quite run over everyone as she made the call. "Yes. Go retrieve him now he will face the consequences of his actions, which I shall say then." she commanded and watched as a guard hurried off to get the man and soon return with him. With a wave of her hand they tied the him up his back against the tree and his hands tied at the back of the tree. She then walked towards him, and turned her back on him facing her people. "This man attacked me with intent to kill, rest his foolish talking got him here. Stabbed in the side he drew burning black blood, which leads us here. He will suffer the consequences of his actions, Death by blades of fire." She hissed as she turned to the man her eyes burning into him like the blades that soon would be...

Marcus watched as preparations were made. Guards began to get daggers and then soaked them in a flammable brew that would surely light them aflame. Each dagger would be thrust into a certain part of the man's body, burning the flesh from the inside out. The special liquid was designed not to go out even if drenched in water or blood, which was why the clan rarely kept any on hand. It was far too dangerous. Once the guards had set each dagger aflame, they departed from the scene. Marcus' eyes shifted from the man to Heda and then back again. What a fool. He should have killed Heda when he had the chance, now he would pay for it dearly. With one finally blazing look toward the doomed man, Marcus took several steps back from the prisoner. Lexa kept a hard stare on the man as a few guards began to prepare for his punishment. One guard came over to the prisoner and removed his shirt. The look on the man's face was concussion and a look that showed that he didn't want to know what it stood for. Soon the area went quite and people took their steps back for this was her punishment for him. To start the process she pulled out one of her own daggers and held it over the torch until the blade was red. Though this one didn't have the liquid she was just to start carving in her symbol into his chest. She took her steps closer and began. The blade spat and hissed as she dug the blade into him. When she finished the first part it looked like this, The size of a nice sized dinner plate in the center of his chest.(The helm of awe (or Helm of Terrior) the symbol that's between her eyebrows.) She sheathed her blade before turning to the small table where 13 blades sat coated with the liquid. She grabbed one dagger at a time and let them met with fire for a second as the blade held fire. She placed each hissing bald at the points of her symbol and one in the middle. The man screamed and groaned in agony as the blades where put in place and begged to be forgiven. Lexa's eyes were cold and dark as she made no facial expression to him as he cried out. In his final attempts to be spared her yelled, "You were suppose to return me alive." He cried and she looked at him. She said not a word as she began to insert the last flaming blade slowly into his body, "You actually thought I was going to follow a command from someone." She hissed lowly as the man cried out his screams echoing through the land..

The scene that unfolded before him made Marcus unable to turn away. The morbid fascination was obvious on his face as the last dagger was inserted into the body. Once again, he marveled at Heda's cruelty. At the justice and wrath she made rain onto whoever dare challenge or defy her. He was glad that he was not that man. That he was not Blummer nor Jonathan. For those taken lives would probably be few of many to come. That is, if the East Clan was stupid enough to send another hitman. Marcus listened as the man's cries slowly ceased. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as death latched onto his soul and brought it to the darkest parts of the underworld. The crowd cheered, shouting out the name of their Commander and words in their native tongue. Marcus simply turned his head, looking up as the full moon settled into the night sky. Lexa looked at the man's bleeding body as the stench of burning flesh filled the air. The thirteen daggers sticking out and hissed as they continued to burn through him even after the darkness had latched onto his soul. When she turned around her hearing seemed to come back as her people cheered for her and the sound of their unified chants filled the land. She then moved her gaze to the sky where a full moon shun down on the camp and added a dim light. It was over the man was dead.
**Time skip**
It was about mid day now, she had been able to lie down and rest, not a full sleep but close her eyes while still being aware of all around her. She soon opened her eyes and sat up from the skin covered bed, knowing it was time to return the, suppose to be alive, body. She stood up and made her way to the opening of the tent and walked out of it her eyes scanning the area as she looked for Marcus. Once her eyes found him she gave him a nod signaling it was time to leave, she turned her head and called two guards to grab the body, one holding on to each arm as they would carry him in up right. His body was cold and the mark on his chest was obvious it had some meaning to it. The blackened holes where the daggers use to be seemed to never end when looked into. She turned and began to make her way to the gates, to return the man, dead.
