September Event: The Harvest

Quickstep overtook the rabbit once she was all chased out. As it tried to turn a sharp turn she snapped forward and pinned it. She snapped it's neck with a neatly placed snap of her jaws. She trotted back towards where she had caught a glimpse of Whitetail as she ran by. She slowed her pace a bit when she could see him. She was tired now, happy but tired. She smiled warmly at Whitetail, dropping her catch.

Whitetail
he smiled as she approached, "wow you are fast, I say you really are as fast as your name suggests.." he looked around, "Good catch though, it looks plump enough to feed a few cats.. I think we have as much prey as we can carry though.." he looked down to where he had buried the two rabbits and then back at her, eyes hiding something that didn't seem to be troubling, just weird..

Quickstep
Quickstep noticed the look in Whitetail's eyes but desided to wait and see if he mentioned it himself. He looked at the two piles at his feet and nodded. "Alright let's go get what we hurried earlier too" She meowed.

Whitetail
he nodded, "ok, I don't think I could carry all of it at the same time" he laughed and then dug up his two rabbits and then put one on his back, picking the other up in his jaws and started padding towards where he had buried his squirrel. He walked beside her, not knowing what to really talk about with the rabbit in his mouth.

Aspenkit

Aspenkit's tail drooped as she stepped off Snakekit, she struggled for words for a moment,before forcefully saying, "It's true! And Briarkit would agree with me." She watched Snakekit for another moment before smiling again, "Now come on, let's go play with Nutflight"

Quickstep picked up her rabbit and put it oh her back and padded after Whitetail. She smiled over at Whitetail wondering what he had been thinking about earlier.

Snakekit
Snakekit frowned but perked up when she offered to play. Her frown turning into a small smile as she fallowed Aspenkit.

Aspenkit

Aspenkit smiled as she trotted towards Nutflight, as she neared she crouched down stalking towards the warrior, her eyes focusing on her tail which was flickering. She paused before pouncing yowling, "Grr! Nutflight! I am Aspenstar! Fear me! "

Whitetail
When they reached the spot where he had buried the squirrel he had dug it up and put it on his back. He looked towards Quickstep and soon looked away, he didn't really want to sound like an idiot so, he said nothing. He just smiled

Quickstep
Quickstep was getting more and more curious about what Whitetail was thinking. She dug up her mouse and put that on her back along with the rabbit. She felt kind of out done by Whitetail's haul, but she smiled anyway. She had wanted to tell him somthing but her prior experience with that topic made her hesitate to say anything.

Snakekit
Snakekit frowned, "How come you get to be leader" she growled. Tackling Aspenkit she meowed, "I challenge you for your position as leader!".

Whitetail
He cleared his throat, he really didn't want to sound like an idiot due to the rabbit being in his mouth so, he stopped as if he needed to rest and gingerly set all of the prey down and sat down. He looked at her, smiled and then the words just left him.. He opened his mouth and then the words escaped as if they didn't want to be spoken, just great.. Spit it out you mouse brain! he thought to himself as he closed his mouth. He then actually spoke, "I think you are a great cat.." he didn't exactly want to spill his thoughts and so he ended there, still sitting as if he still needed some rest.

Quickstep set her prey down when Whitetail sat and sat across from him. She listened and smiled at his words, "Your not so bad yourself Whitetail" she meowed calmingly. She could tell he was nervous about somthing. She thought she new what he wanted to say but she wanted to hear it from him. Just to be sure.

His paws shuffled as he sat there, he wasn't exactly nervous, he just looked like it.. He smiled at her words but, once again his words failed him.. he let out a little nervous laugh at the way he just opened his mouth but nothing had come out.. again.. he felt stupid.. he cleared his throat and then the words kind of came, but some got stuck, "I... um..." he huffed in defeat, looking down at his paws, "nevermind.." he stood up, picking everything back up and padding towards camp, a little faster this time.

"What?!" She meowed swiftly picking up her prey and trotting up besides him. "Come on Whitetail, what were you going to say?" She meowed with determination audible in her meow.

Whitetail
He stops and looks right into her eyes, putting the rabbit down and the continuing to look straight into her eyes. Nothing angry about it, more curiosity in his eyes than anything else.. he just blurted out what he wanted to, "I like you" and with that, he didn't really want to see her reaction so, he picked up the rabbit and swiftly walked to camp. I feel like a mouse brain.. he thought to himself.

Aspenkit paused in her assault, as she turned around only to be tackled to the ground by her sister, she hissed and yowled as she batted her sisters belly with her hind paws, " I accept that challenge little kit! But there shall be no more fearsome leader than me! "
