Mosspaw quietly crawled through the bushes on his belly, trying not to make a sound. When he got to the side of the bushes to where he was looking at Ravenfeather's side, he pounced forward and gently rammed his head into Ravenfeather's side. He didn't want to do anything too hard, because of his mentors healing injuries, so he only light butted his head. Mosspaw rolled over a few tail lengths in case Ravenfeather tried batting at him again.

Dewwhisker nodded, impressed with the aporentice's ability.
"Good job, lets head back to camp now. Let me carry that squirrel for you, your mentor will be proud." Dewwhisker meowed, he took the squirrel in his jaws. Slowly he led Slypaw back to camp.

He smiled when Mosspaw butted his head into his side. He stood up, turning his head to look at Mosspaw, seeing as how he rolled to get away he turned towards the direction of camp. "I don't know about you.. but I'm hungry. Better go get some rest" he said as he stretched and started walking. He didn't know if his Apprentice wanted to stay there and practice some more or come and eat something as well as rest.. so he left it open.

Slypaw ~ Mentions: Dewwhisker, Darkpaw

"Thanks" He tried to pretend like it had been no big deal, but he felt pride burning inside of him. Like everything else about him: his mouth also wasn't big, so the vole and the mouse took too much space to be able to talk. He silently followed Dewwhisker back to camp. Once in camp he put the caught prey with the others, he mumbled a quick thanks to Dewwhisker for coming with him. Then he looked around, scanning the camp carefully. He was glad to notice Darkpaw and made his way towards her. "Bet ya never guess what I caught today!" He said cocky but filled with pride.

Her tail flicked and she grinned, greeting him with a gentle nudge to his shoulder, "Well I can guess 'cause I just saw you walk in with it. You're talking to the she-cat who caught herself a squirrel hunting with Soulstar today," she said in a playful tone. Rearing and batting at his ears a few times she fell to her side and looked up at him, "Did you do anything else today besides hunt? I hear the elder's den needs cleaning out," he teased.

Mosspaw sprung up and then calmly matched pace with Ravenfeather.
"Yeah, I am kinda hungry. " As they were walking, Mosspaw stopped when he heard a noise from the bushes. He turned and went back slowly to look under the brush. He saw a tiny blur moving through the bushes and he crouched, wanting to see if maybe he could catch it. After a few seconds, he pounced and landed on a mouse. A tiny squeak came from the animal and instinctively his claws came out and sank into the mouse.

He grinned back, "So this Tom is still better; not only having caught a giant squirrel. But also a mouse!" Even though he felt a twinge of envy hearing that she did get to hunt with his mentor, even when he seemed to busy for his own apprentice. Then he reminded himself that Darkpaw was his daughter and he pushed the envy away again. Happily playing along in their endless game of teasing. He sat down next to her and started to groom himself. "Maybe.. maybe not. But we both know cleaning the elder's den is for new apprentices" He couldn't help himself but to smile, quickly pretending that was just because he was cleaning himself.

Darkpaw - Apprentice - Camp - Mentions: Slypaw

She cuffed his ear hard with her paw and retorted, "Soulstar said all of us apprentices would be warriors by now if the warriors den wasn't as overfull as it is!" She sighed after that and laid her head on her paws, her cheery mood suddenly going gloomy when she realized how lame of an excuse he'd made to her. "But maybe we're just not good enough..." she mumbled almost to herself but if Slypaw had listened close enough he would have no trouble hearing her.

Shocked by her reaction he stopped cleaning himself and just stared at the slightly younger apprentice. The words from Soulstar should have been an compliment, but how she said them it sounded more like an excuse. Was she that worried about not being good enough? Her from all cats! He took a few steps closer, sat down again and started to lick her fur. Grooming it with rhythmical strokes. "Don't say that, we're doing fine. Excuses or not, he is right about the warrior den being too crowded." He smiled a bit. "Maybe we're too good and he wants to avoid that the warriors will get jealous because of how good we are." He joked, hoping to cheer her up a bit. He gave her a few more licks, then continued again on a more serious tone. "Don't worry too much about becoming a warrior. Sooner or later we'll get there and be there for the biggest part of our lives. Until then we might as well enjoy the luxuries of being our rank."

His ear flicked as he heard Mosspaw stalk towards some bushes.. when he looked over, the young cat got a mouse. He tilted his head slightly, he hadn't taught him that yet.. he guessed some other cat had when he was too injured to really do anything. "Great job Mosspaw! We will hunt later.. how does that sound?" He smiled. He was very fond of the Apprentice, he always tried his best and worked hard, despite everything that has happened.. he was very honored to be his mentor. "You can show what you caught but come on.. or I will leave you here" he joked.

She was surprised at his gentle grooming, ears getting warm. A low purr rumbled up from her throat and she nosed his shoulder gratefully for reaching the places she couldn't reach. "Thanks Slypaw...," she murmured then set about repaying the favor by searching through his fur and cracking any fleas she found between her teeth. His words had lightened her mood and she was once more the snarky apprentice she normally was.
