These packs are known as the sun pack and the moon pack. A time has come when food is scarce. Winter has hit the packs hard, and they have begun to fight for food and invade each other's territories. Many wolves are left with wounds or starving bellies. The packs have turned on each other, they have gone to war for the food. Will the packs make it through the winter? Or will they destroy each other, blinded by hunger? Click! Click! Please try to have at least 4 sentences per post if you can! All lioden Rules apply, you are required to follow them No magic please, try to keep most parts of the RP realistic Please do not discriminate other people or their characters OOC you can have as many characters as you believe you can handle C: First come first serve when it come to ranks, no arguing please If you do end up challenging for rank or getting into a fight, it must be fair. If i see anything that i see as overpowering or 'cheating' Your character will automatically lose the fight. If i see this from you more than once, you may either be banned from the rp for a certain time, or kicked out all together. I don't want to have to do that, please be fair =) Don't feel pressured to do/participate in anything you aren't comfortable with; if you have a problem/issue/complaint/suggestion/ect. please tell me or someone that could help. I would appreciate if you told me in advance that you will be inactive for a while, and if you want to be taken off the rp, etc. just shoot me a pm and we will work it out C= Any questions please do ask C= * Pack law is a code all wolves must follow their whole lives. It is the job of the Theta, Alpha, and Beta to decide what to do with a Wolf that has broken the law. (Can be broken ;) ~ Alpha's word is law ~ No dogs or half bloods are to be taken into the pack under any circumstances ~ Alpha eats first, then other wolves can eat according to rank. ~ wolves must share all kills, if a wolf is found keeping a kill to themselves, they have broken law. ~ If a wolf wishes to challenge another wolf for his or her rank, they will bring their request to the beta and they will fight right then and there. ~ Alphas make general announcements whenever they choose and of whatever they want. ~ Alphas can demote or promote any wolf, they can do so with reason or not. ~ When a pack-mate is killed, or passes away, the pack will howl for them throughout the night, mourning. Once the sun has risen, the Theta will bury their deceased pack mate, a sign of gratitude for their life and sorrow for their loss to their ancestors. ~ Pack members must only choose a mate inside the pack. ~ All pack members must Contribute to the pack, if they slack off and expect to be protected and handed food, Alpha may demote them or punish them in any way they wish. ~ Alpha may alter the rules, and go unquestioned. If they is challenged...good luck to that wolf, any wolf on the bad side of the Alpha might not have the most generous time in the pack. ~ When a pup becomes a Psi, the Alpha assigns them a sigma, a sigma could have one Psi to a group of them depending on how many pups are born to the pack each year. After about a year of training, The alpha confronts the Sigma about the strengths of the Psi, once decided that determines the future rank, which will be announced to the pack. ~ When a wolf is promoted or a pup becomes a psi, the beta will lead the wolf to the alpha and place him or her by his side, once the beta rejoins the crowd the wolf and the alpha will stand tall together as alpha announces their new rank, once it has been announced the pack will chant the wolf's name and rank, EX: Bob the Beta! Or, Nelly the Nu! xD And so on, once the chanting dies down, the alpha will bow his head to the wolf, a symbol of respect for their new rank. ~ At the end of every day, the wolves will all join the skies with their songs, howling to the stars and the moon. ~ Every wolf must protect one another, whether they like it or not, and defend one another with their life. No wolf is allowed to starve or die because of a simple cause. They must fight for each other. So yeah xD that's pack law, if you think that's a little hard to handle, think again. It's just a bunch of little things and extras xD The Sun Pack~ The sun pack is known for agile and lean wolves, quiet on their feet. These wolves are overall smaller than the moon wolves, making it easier for them to move quickly and maneuver their bodies. The wolves of this pack are not the strongest, they value speed and efficiency over brute force. Etas, Zetas, Epsilons, and any fighting rank of this pack is trained the best fighting moves using no brute force. They are taught how to be scrappy and resourceful in fights, rather than just bashing into their opponent. Personality wise, the sun pack's wolves are very respectful to all other wolves, but they will not hesitate to protect themselves, their pack, and what they think is right. The Moon Pack~ The Moon pack's wolves are known for their large size and strength, able to take down prey twice their size. They will fight to the death for their pack. They have very determined and ambitious personalities overall, never giving up on a job. Fighting ranks are trained to build up muscle and use very forceful battle skills, throwing their weight around quite a lot. The wolves! One being the alpha’s den, This den is not anything special, It is a large hollowed out tree stump big enough for about three wolves if they were cramped together. The alpha’s den lays in the back center of the camp, though with the snow, the tree stump doesn’t offer much warmth. Another den is what the sun pack wolves call "The Cave." This den is used for the ranks Beta, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Kappa, and Lambda. The den looks small from the outside, but it is only because the tunnel leading into the cave is quite narrow, making it harder for large predator such and bear and big cats can’t reach them as easy. Though in the winter the tunnel must be dug out regularly to keep from snow clogging up the den, It also offers great warmth because of the insulating stone walls and the underground factor. This den is a little ways to the right of the alpha’s den. The Other dens are the Gamma’s Den (where the Gamma’s stay), The nursery (Where mothers and pups stay), The Healing Cave (Where the lotas and the theta stay and store their medicine stock), The recourse den (where all of the pack's resources are stored, including prey), and The Bracken den (where all other ranks stay.) The rest of the territory consists of mostly woodland forests. There is a river that marks the border between the two packs, it is roughly four wolf lengths wide and stretches farther than any wolf has ventured. The river is currently frozen. The Moon Pack Camp The Moon Pack camp isn't much different from the Sun Pack's, except the dens aren't as hidden. The Alpha's den Of the moon pack is a very apparent rock den, large enough for roughly 4-5 wolves. The moon pack also has a huge den they call "the Moon Den", this den is deignated for the same ranks as the Sun pack's "Cave." They also have a Healing den(Lotas and theta), a Nursery(Mothers and pups), a den they call "The Moss Den" (all other ranks), and a resource den (resources and food storage) This camp doesn't offer as much protection and cover as the Sun Pack's, but they make up for that with their blunt force ways. Time/setting/Status: Early morning during the harsh mid-winter. There is currently 3-4 feet of cold hard snow under the paws of the wolves. All wolves are currently at their camps preparing for the day. Sun Pack currently has a scrawny hare and two squirrels stored as their prey, not nearly enough to feed the pack. Moon pack managed to find a skinny starving deer, there's not much meat on it, but at least it can feed a few wolves. The packs are getting ready to send out their strongest wolves on patrol for food and protection. Two days ago the alphas from both packs announced that the packs were officially at war for food. It's the only option if they wish to keep their packs fed and healthy. hopefully they can make it through the rest of the winter, it hasn't been this bad in a long time. "A walk hm...?" Cain looked Roux up and down, noting the brute's nervous form before the landscape caught his gaze. The forest was quiet and still. It was safe as long as one didn't stray over the river where the packs remained divided. "That's fine but I do need you at camp soon. Maybe you've heard but we're hunting and scouting today. I need you to be in top shape, your job is very important." He figured that wasn't the best thing to say. Hm.

He turned to leave. "I hope I didn't put too much pressure on you Roux, join us when you're ready." He hoped the little male would warm up to him and the pack.

Before Mishka could get a reply out he was crushed by a fluffy body. The male was heavy, he was thankful he scrambled off him as quickly as he did or he would have been in pain. Toyota recoiled and was nice enough to check over him. It was comical. Mishka giggled and shook his head. "It's fine. I'm ok. I just wasn't expecting that." His skin was warm, though he wasn't embarrassed like Toyota.
He tapped the brute's head with his paw. "You don't really talk about them much... How were they?" Given Toyota's reaction, he could imagine they weren't as nice as the Sun Pack. He felt sorry for the male, it was a good thing he came upon the Sun Pack.

Varîon watched as the pack went to greet their alpha and Rishima but not him. He walked away slowly while muttering "Nobody even gave a thought about greeting me. The only Elder in the pack." He said. He went back to the Gammas Camp alone like always unless the pups came. He was a weak old wolf and loved sleeping more than anything. But still he had to love his pack. They were family. His age reduced his stats by a lot and soon it would be hard for him to even walk see or maybe even hear. He decided to take advantages of these things while he could. Most of his family died when they were 10 if lucky 11. I have 3 more years he sighed looked down and than went to sleep.

Tori was about to speak when he saw her move in a flash. He look for her and than spotted her. "Maybe not yet." As he looked back at her. He always had a smile on his face and seeing someone that would actually want to hunt made his day. He liked to store things. So he stores his ideas. He saw the other day an elk herd of 3 or 4 elk which would save the pack a lot. He than trotted back over to Freya and replied saying "Do you want the plan?" As he trotted away looking back at her.

Toy sighed slightly in relief as the male said he was OK. "They were.. Horrible to the male pups, chasing them, beating them if they messed up, killing some. I happened to live because I was the alphas son. The other males were killed or left after being weaned. It was a band of females, and the alpha and beta male." He shuddered slightly, "Though I don't like to think of them often, that pack disgusts me. They turned on me the most, being the only male adol in the entire pack." Toy snapped at the air, "If I could've had one good hit, the abusive leaders wouldn't be there. The females would disperse after attacking me and they'd be no more. I havent seen her since ya know? My mom, it sucks. She was the most gorgeous shewolf I've ever seen.

The golden she-wolf's single patch of sunlight had begun to grow into many, spreading over the fine, thick snow as the sun climbed higher. It hadn't been more than a half hour since Talia had emerged from her den at sunrise and only a few more wolves had joined the ones outside. She let her eyes unconsciously train on the alpha for a small while, and then follow the beta around as he seemed to recruit wolves for todays hunting. Although her head lifted from her snow and her ears perked when he neared some of the wolves near her, she couldn't make herself get up or catch his attention in any way. For how bold and loud she could get at times, the poor she-wolf also had terrible bouts of anxiety.

From the corner of her eye, Talia noticed a flash of red dissapearing through the white and green trees. Soon after, their alpha padded quickly after what she assumed to be one of her packmates. Looking back towards her pack, Natalia noticed that the beta was just beginning to pad away from one of the lower-ranked females of the pack. He was still relatively close to the Upsilon. Searching quickly and frantically for his name in the back of her mind, Talia called out hesitantly.

"Z-Zayev?" Hoping she'd got the name right, the golden female sat up, the longer black fur along her shoulders and ruff swaying as she moved. "Planning something big for today?"

Rishima waited for Veyron to reply, wondering why he was taking so long to answer. When he finally said something, she smiled, happy that he seemed to care about her well-being. "It was only for this one night, I'm going to try to sleep near the back of the den from now on." She reassured him. It wasn't long before Varîon came over to them, and she was about to greet him when suddenly Akane and Nomia joined the conversation as well. "Hi, guys." She said, wondering why there were suddenly so many wolves. Seeing Nomia murmur something to Veyron, she tilted her head to the side and wondered what she was saying. But she didn't try to listen to their small conversation, not wanting to be nosy.

If it seemed like she really wanted to get out for a while, he might offer to take her out on a walk, but seeing how cheerful she was at the moment, he didn't think she minded that much. "I hope that the winter doesn't get any worse though. Sun Pack and Moon Pack are already at war for food, and I really don't want to have to fight them." -short, sorry-

It didn't take him long to find who made it, it would be hard not to notice the bright golden she wolf surrounded by snow staring at him. Zayev smiled, wagging his tail in greeting as he trotted over to the female, his paw pads making small squelching sounds on the snow. Zayev sat down in front of her, shaking his head whenever a snowflake landed on his nose. "Oh yeah, Cain is planning something, I think. He just said to gather as many wolves for a hunting party that I see fit."

Scarlit smiled, dipping her head to the she wolf, "Good, good, tired. You?" Just then Cain strolled back into camp. Scarlit perked up and called out his name, jumping onto her paws and trotting over to him, she looked back at Freya apologetically. She felt bad for leaving so soon but she wasn't about to go back. Then it would just be awkward. Scarlit slowed to a halt in front of Cain and dipped her head respectively, "Hey, Cain, I overheard you talking and I was wondering if I could join that patrol you were planning..." Scarlit's mind raced for an excuse, several long seconds passing by where all she said was 'errrrrrrrr...'. Then a light bulb kind of flickered. She wasn't too keen on the excuse she had, but it was all she could think off. "I just think I'm getting too old for chasing hooved beasts, especially in the winter, you know?" And it was true, she was getting old. While she couldn't feel the affects of old age yet, many wolves died before reaching her age.

Veyrons chest fluttered with butterflies as Nomia murmured to him. A very nervous expression made it way to his face. "Errrr..." He stammered. He gave a nervous laugh before giving his ear a quick scratch. His stomach felt like it just did a backflip. What was that feeling? Panic? He asked himself. Why would he panic about something like this? It was no big deal right? Then why wouldn't his words spea l themselves?

Veyron couldn't take it anymore, not with so many wolves around, not with Rishima so confused. What if she didn't feel the same? His paws fidgeted on the ground as Veys gaze flicked to the snow. Suddenly, Veyron stood up, holding his breath involuntarily. "Okayyyy..." He quickly walked over to Akane who had asked about hunting. "Yes uh..." His gaze drifted to Rishima for a moment, but he quickly d b append it back to Akane. "You can go ahead and head out if you would like...I'll send some wolves your way in a moment. Don't think about catching anything though, just scent until the others show, we can't risk losing anything. And be carful, we are at war, an ambush is a concern" He stuttered a bit as he tried to think like the alpha he was supposed to be. What's going on with me? Why can't I just talk to rishima!? He was quite mad at his own emotions at the moment. He tried to pay attention to Akane ad he waited for a reply, but his mind wasn't cooperating...

Snow landed on a black nose as Freya listened to he others replies. She laughed a little at Scarlits comment "We all are" Freya murmured to herself as Scarlit moved to the alpha. The black Fae turned her attention back to tori, the kappa. Do I eat the plan? She repeated tori in her head with a slight tilt of her head. What did that mean? As Tori began to trot away Freya became even more confused. "Where are you going Tori?" The snow laden black Fae asked, puzzled. He couldn't leave the camp when his patrol was being organized, could he?

Jumping in circles excitedly. She ran after Zayev, staying by his side till the wolves were ready to head out. Would she be in the back or the front? Shaking her head to herself, she knew she shouldn't be getting her hopes up, after all she was still an omega. Still, she was extremely excited, and couldn't wait to go. She dreamed of hunting with the pack, and catching something that could feed all of them for moons! Luna sat grooming her fur as she watched as the other wolves around her mingled. She sighed and saw Sihu bouncing with excitement for the upcoming hunt. She didn't exactly know why she was so excited and walked by her heading for the entrance. "You seem excited for an omega" She commented sternly as she passed by. 'I suppose I'm slightly excited about the prospects of a hunt as well' she thought as she sat back down glancing at the lowly omega with a blank expression. She looked away not wanting anyone to think that she feels some sympathy for the lowly omega's.

"I'm not sure I can explain how I feel in words," she yipped, her tail now clung to her inner thighs, as she slightly bowed her head to the higher wolf. "You don't look excitedly?" Sihu said, cocking an eye ridge in confusion, she knew it was pretty frequent that kappas would attend hunts, clearly sence they would lead, so there would be no reason to be excited about it really. Then she got an idea, and her tail began to wag again. "Do you think I could go up front with you when we go for the hunt?" she asked hopefully, but as soon as she had said it she wished she hadn't. An omega leading with the top wolves on her first hunt! Whoes ever heard of such a thing!?

"Never" she half growled as she slightly bent her ears back in annoyance. "However" she added in her usual stern and serious tone "let's just see how you do. I hope you don't disappoint me after you made such a remark." She was sure that an omega wouldn't be the most useful, but she was going to see just how good this omega was during the hunt. 'Why would a lowly omega make such a bold statement in front of a kappa, when she should have already learned that that could get her a few new wounds to clean' she thought slightly annoyed and curious at the same time. A cool breeze blew throughout the camp and she hoped that she would be able to help lead the pack successfully.

Pleased that she'd gotten his name right, Natalia's muzzle clearly brightened as the beta joined her where she'd been sitting alone. She couldn't resist the urge to sit up even straighter and smile happily at Zayev as he shook a snowflake from his nose. Thumping her tail softly against the ground, she perked even more at his words. "Oh, yeah?" Being an Upsilon, most of her duties lay with scouting and patrolling the territory, especially in recent times, but she couldn't help but wonder... "Have you found enough wolves, then?" she asked quietly, glancing down at her anxiously moving front paws before meeting his eyes hopefully. Even if she wasn't allowed on the hunt today, perhaps there would be wolves needed for a patrol. As much as she loved chasing prey with her pack, running free and scouting the territory were her aspirations.

Talia had been aware of the omega's presence before now, slinking happily around Zayev after he'd recruited her as well, but she hadn't noticed the other female approaching until a low, stern voice commented, "You seem excited for an omega." The golden she-wolf couldn't help the immediate bristling of her fur along her spine. Where she'd come from, omegas weren't the lowest members of the pack- even they had a say in matters like hunting and patrolling, and were treated with respect. They were the jokers, the ones who added a lightening tone to the atmosphere and calmed the rest of the pack. For Luna to so blatantly question the omega's happiness put a sour look on Talia's face before she quickly resumed her smile at Zayev, seeing as Sihu had happily taken up conversation with the other female.

However, she couldn't help but glance at them from the corner of her eyes, making sure that the higher-ranked female didn't decide to turn on the omega. As much as she was trying to accept this pack's customs, she wouldn't allow any wolf to harm a packmate, even Sihu. She did try and keep her attention on the brute before her though, hoping she could be assigned to a job today so that she could prove her worth. Talia had moved up the ranks rather quickly from a Phi to Upsilon, especially for a newer member of the pack, but she wouldn't ignore any chances she was given to continue to prove herself.

He was almost distracted enough to walk right past Scarlit. He didn't really have a problem with her request. They should have plenty of wolves in the hunting party, they could always use the extra paws around for scouting. He planned to go all the way to the river, attempt to catch a glimpse of what the Sun Pack wolves were planning.

"Yes that's fine. You can join the scouting party. We're in need to increase that number anyways. Make sure you''re ready. We're going to be heading out soon." From what he could see the wolves had begun to get into their groups already. It wouldn't be long for them to get organized and head out.

Aeron trotted up to Zayev and the small group that had accumulated around him. So he was right. The omega was joining them for the hunt. Sihu seemed rather excited to depart, he could hear her ask Luna if she could accompany her in the front. Luna of course refused, snapping at the low ranked fae for even making such a statement. Aeron almost laughed.
Of course he couldn't help but butt into their conversation.
"Don't worry Sihu, you can always stay beside me." He grinned, baring his teeth to the little omega.

Mishka whined upon hearing Toyota's tellings about his old pack. He couldn't help but fill a twinge of sadness and a spark of anger. The fact that he had to suffer that abuse and managed to come out alive, showed just how resilient the brute was.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." He had to turn this around and make it brighter, he was depressing himself. "But- you're with us now and you're stuck with us." He nuzzled his neck with his muzzle. He stood up, shaking any snow that had fallen on to him off. He watched Akane leave and wanted to go too of course.
