These packs are known as the sun pack and the moon pack. A time has come when food is scarce. Winter has hit the packs hard, and they have begun to fight for food and invade each other's territories. Many wolves are left with wounds or starving bellies. The packs have turned on each other, they have gone to war for the food. Will the packs make it through the winter? Or will they destroy each other, blinded by hunger? Click! Click! Please try to have at least 4 sentences per post if you can! All lioden Rules apply, you are required to follow them No magic please, try to keep most parts of the RP realistic Please do not discriminate other people or their characters OOC you can have as many characters as you believe you can handle C: First come first serve when it come to ranks, no arguing please If you do end up challenging for rank or getting into a fight, it must be fair. If i see anything that i see as overpowering or 'cheating' Your character will automatically lose the fight. If i see this from you more than once, you may either be banned from the rp for a certain time, or kicked out all together. I don't want to have to do that, please be fair =) Don't feel pressured to do/participate in anything you aren't comfortable with; if you have a problem/issue/complaint/suggestion/ect. please tell me or someone that could help. I would appreciate if you told me in advance that you will be inactive for a while, and if you want to be taken off the rp, etc. just shoot me a pm and we will work it out C= Any questions please do ask C= * Pack law is a code all wolves must follow their whole lives. It is the job of the Theta, Alpha, and Beta to decide what to do with a Wolf that has broken the law. (Can be broken ;) ~ Alpha's word is law ~ No dogs or half bloods are to be taken into the pack under any circumstances ~ Alpha eats first, then other wolves can eat according to rank. ~ wolves must share all kills, if a wolf is found keeping a kill to themselves, they have broken law. ~ If a wolf wishes to challenge another wolf for his or her rank, they will bring their request to the beta and they will fight right then and there. ~ Alphas make general announcements whenever they choose and of whatever they want. ~ Alphas can demote or promote any wolf, they can do so with reason or not. ~ When a pack-mate is killed, or passes away, the pack will howl for them throughout the night, mourning. Once the sun has risen, the Theta will bury their deceased pack mate, a sign of gratitude for their life and sorrow for their loss to their ancestors. ~ Pack members must only choose a mate inside the pack. ~ All pack members must Contribute to the pack, if they slack off and expect to be protected and handed food, Alpha may demote them or punish them in any way they wish. ~ Alpha may alter the rules, and go unquestioned. If they is challenged...good luck to that wolf, any wolf on the bad side of the Alpha might not have the most generous time in the pack. ~ When a pup becomes a Psi, the Alpha assigns them a sigma, a sigma could have one Psi to a group of them depending on how many pups are born to the pack each year. After about a year of training, The alpha confronts the Sigma about the strengths of the Psi, once decided that determines the future rank, which will be announced to the pack. ~ When a wolf is promoted or a pup becomes a psi, the beta will lead the wolf to the alpha and place him or her by his side, once the beta rejoins the crowd the wolf and the alpha will stand tall together as alpha announces their new rank, once it has been announced the pack will chant the wolf's name and rank, EX: Bob the Beta! Or, Nelly the Nu! xD And so on, once the chanting dies down, the alpha will bow his head to the wolf, a symbol of respect for their new rank. ~ At the end of every day, the wolves will all join the skies with their songs, howling to the stars and the moon. ~ Every wolf must protect one another, whether they like it or not, and defend one another with their life. No wolf is allowed to starve or die because of a simple cause. They must fight for each other. So yeah xD that's pack law, if you think that's a little hard to handle, think again. It's just a bunch of little things and extras xD The Sun Pack~ The sun pack is known for agile and lean wolves, quiet on their feet. These wolves are overall smaller than the moon wolves, making it easier for them to move quickly and maneuver their bodies. The wolves of this pack are not the strongest, they value speed and efficiency over brute force. Etas, Zetas, Epsilons, and any fighting rank of this pack is trained the best fighting moves using no brute force. They are taught how to be scrappy and resourceful in fights, rather than just bashing into their opponent. Personality wise, the sun pack's wolves are very respectful to all other wolves, but they will not hesitate to protect themselves, their pack, and what they think is right. The Moon Pack~ The Moon pack's wolves are known for their large size and strength, able to take down prey twice their size. They will fight to the death for their pack. They have very determined and ambitious personalities overall, never giving up on a job. Fighting ranks are trained to build up muscle and use very forceful battle skills, throwing their weight around quite a lot. The wolves! One being the alpha’s den, This den is not anything special, It is a large hollowed out tree stump big enough for about three wolves if they were cramped together. The alpha’s den lays in the back center of the camp, though with the snow, the tree stump doesn’t offer much warmth. Another den is what the sun pack wolves call "The Cave." This den is used for the ranks Beta, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Kappa, and Lambda. The den looks small from the outside, but it is only because the tunnel leading into the cave is quite narrow, making it harder for large predator such and bear and big cats can’t reach them as easy. Though in the winter the tunnel must be dug out regularly to keep from snow clogging up the den, It also offers great warmth because of the insulating stone walls and the underground factor. This den is a little ways to the right of the alpha’s den. The Other dens are the Gamma’s Den (where the Gamma’s stay), The nursery (Where mothers and pups stay), The Healing Cave (Where the lotas and the theta stay and store their medicine stock), The recourse den (where all of the pack's resources are stored, including prey), and The Bracken den (where all other ranks stay.) The rest of the territory consists of mostly woodland forests. There is a river that marks the border between the two packs, it is roughly four wolf lengths wide and stretches farther than any wolf has ventured. The river is currently frozen. The Moon Pack Camp The Moon Pack camp isn't much different from the Sun Pack's, except the dens aren't as hidden. The Alpha's den Of the moon pack is a very apparent rock den, large enough for roughly 4-5 wolves. The moon pack also has a huge den they call "the Moon Den", this den is deignated for the same ranks as the Sun pack's "Cave." They also have a Healing den(Lotas and theta), a Nursery(Mothers and pups), a den they call "The Moss Den" (all other ranks), and a resource den (resources and food storage) This camp doesn't offer as much protection and cover as the Sun Pack's, but they make up for that with their blunt force ways. Time/setting/Status: Early morning during the harsh mid-winter. There is currently 3-4 feet of cold hard snow under the paws of the wolves. All wolves are currently at their camps preparing for the day. Sun Pack currently has a scrawny hare and two squirrels stored as their prey, not nearly enough to feed the pack. Moon pack managed to find a skinny starving deer, there's not much meat on it, but at least it can feed a few wolves. The packs are getting ready to send out their strongest wolves on patrol for food and protection. Two days ago the alphas from both packs announced that the packs were officially at war for food. It's the only option if they wish to keep their packs fed and healthy. hopefully they can make it through the rest of the winter, it hasn't been this bad in a long time. Sihu nervously laughed as Aeron exposed his fangs to her, she wasn't positive if it was a threat, or just the eta flirting. Turning back to the kappa Luna, she bowed her head again. "I am so sorry for asking such a ridiculous thing, and don't worry! I will do my best!" she smiled happily. Though she shifted her paws nervously, the realization of all the wolves that will be running beside her, nearly the entire pack, and they will all be expected big things from her. The beta asking an omega on a hunt, she nearly laughed to herself, then she smiled sadly. What if she failed?... Will they ever forgive her? Will she always only be looked at as the lowly omega of Moon Pack?

Luna looked over as Aeron joined their small group of hunters. 'Quite an interesting arrangement of wolves' she thought curious to see how they would all work as a unite. 'Looks like I got my work cut out for me.' she nodded curtly at Aeron and yawned as she continued to glance at Sihu curiously. She started grooming her fur again as Aeron suddenly commented about allowing Sihu to be by him. She didn't mind if the omega would be by him in the hunt, but she was interested to see how she would with a chance like this. She looked over at Zayev and Natalia and wondered if the Alpha was going to lead the hunt or Zayev. Either way she was going to make sure they succeeded. She looked back over at Sihu and replied "I expected that you would" she said with a half-hearted smile.

Zayev heard some growling and turned around to see the other kappa, Luna, growling at poor Sihu. She seemed to stop her aggressive behavior after that, but he still flashed her a glare before returning his attention to Natalia. He doesn't understand why wolves treat omegas like dirt. At least give them a chance to prove themselves. Zayev recalled the golden she wolf's question, the large timber wolf tilting his head side to side as he thought about it aloud, "Well, we have Shiru, Luna, Tori, Aeron, Roose, Scarlit for sure. For the patrol we have you four Upsilons, Kaos, maybe Vanagandr... Yeah, I think we got enough." He smiled and looked at the she wolf's golden eyes, which were full of hope like a pup's and he fully understood why she was asking now. Zayev sighed, "You can ask Cain if you can go, but I think we have enough wolves already." He didn't want to get Natalia's hopes up and say yes only to have Cain say no.
He looked back at Sihu to make sure things between her and Luna were alright. The dark furred female look so nervous, no doubt Luna wasn't helping. Zayev gave the she wolf a reassuring smile. He wanted to say something funny to lighten the mood, but he wasn't that great at jokes. He wishes Shiro was around right now. Luna said something somewhat nice to Sihu. That was good, they all needed to be on good terms with one another if they wanted to succeed on today's hunt.

Happiness bubbled in the she wolf and she wagged her tail frantically, but quickly stopped. She shouldn't look too happy to be patrolling in wintertime. Scarlit nodded her head and replied to the large wolf, "Yes sir, I am ready!" Just for extra measure she shoved her head into the freezing snow. Now she was really awake. Scarlit brought her head back up and shook the snow off, turning around to face the camp. Today was going to be a good day now.

Kohl chuckled at Blueberry's wish for summer. Didn't they all?

"Soon, my friend. This winter can't last forever." He gave him a friendly lick on his ear, trying to reassure the brute. But inside his insides were twisting. What if the winter prolonged? Blackberry wasn't the only wolf who was skinny. He looked down at the young wolf, concerned about his cold body.

He needs to move.

Looking around, he spotted Varion grumbling and making his way to his den. He was grumpy, but he was also lonely. He usually preferred it that way, but without any pups to tell his stories to he was without a job. He was also old and not faring much better than Blackberry.

Perfect. It will give Blackberry some entertainment and some shelter, and Varion a job. Plus it will keep them both warm.

Kohl nudged the brute's shoulder. "Come on. Let's go see what Varion is so grumpy about."

Seeing Veyron stalling by sending out wolves to scout and hunt, Nomia stifled a growl. He was hopeless. She followed behind him, eyes scanning the camp for someone to send along with Akane.

She spotted Azazel lying off by himself, looking far too lost in his thoughts and bored for her liking. Azazel needed his...nature...tempered with work. When he was working he couldn't think, and when he couldn't think he couldn't plot. No matter how handsome his outward appearance--something she abhorred herself for even recognizing--his insides weren't half as good. He was a known killer. He was conceited and challenged her on a regular basis. It was maddening. At least he wasn't lazy. When he set out to do something, he did it. He also didn't mind "helping" keeping order, even if it was against her wishes most of the time. But at least he respected how things should be in the pack.

Walking over to him, she shoved her nose into his shoulder roughly. "Azazel, when you're done laying there and being useless, go along with Akane. Unless you'd rather help dig out the dens," she said pointedly, glaring down at his curled up form.

Rishima watched as Veyron stood up and started to talk to Akane, looking very nervous. She was still confused. She had never seen him like this before, and for a moment she was worried that she had said something wrong. 'No, it couldn't have been me. I don't think I said anything that could have made him act so strange.' She reassured herself. 'Maybe it was what Nomia murmured to him?' Now she was really curious about what she had said to him, but she didn't think she'd find out any time soon.

Seeing Akane head out to start trying to catch scents, Rishima's eyes brightened, and she glanced over to Veyron, waiting for him to announce who else would be going on the hunt. 'Maybe we'll end up on the hunting patrol together!' She thought, not wanting to pass up a chance to impress him.

Manwë gave a huff of amusement at Iris' comment. "If things get any worse, we'd be one of the most unlucky packs in the world." He said. "But as long as the hunting patrol brings back an okay amount of food today, we'll probably be fine. Just a little hungry. The only good thing is that Moon Pack is probably just as miserable as us." He looked over to Iris when he was done speaking, only to see that she seemed like she was thinking about something. It didn't look like it was a very pleasant thought. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, sounding a little concerned.

[If my characters do end up on the hunt, it would probably be good not to give them any important roles, since I have a 12 hour flight tomorrow and won't be able to roleplay much. If needed, Forever (or someone else) could control them for a short moment :)]

Toy gave the male a nudge, "It only made me stronger as a wolf though." And I lived... The icy gaze flickered upwards as the male nuzzled him and encouraged he get up, the male groaned and worked his way to his paws. "I'm glad to be stuck with a pack like this, you guys," mostly you. "are amazing and support their members." He smiled slightly.
Toy tilted his head as he followed Mishka with a slightly lowered head and tail, though it kept it's strange curl at the end. (Imagine a German Shepherd's tail!) From when his tail was nearly broken as a pup. The surroundings served to greatly boost the males mood, and his head lifted slightly to be at a more regular level.

Tyrael paused now, chills running up his spine at the feeling of getting watched got stronger. "Whose there?" He growled out lowly, fur bristling as he whirled to find whoever was watching him. He had done no wrong, so he had no clue what was hunting him down but it was freaking him out. He hadn't been hunted by another wolf in a long while, this one doing nothing but freaking him out. The young male was narrowed eyed, trained senses picking up on the wolves location in minutes. "Show yourself!!" His voice was louder now, echoing through the trees around them.

Varîon finally awoke from another snooze not as long as his old one. Varîon started to lose his sight but couldn't notice it. He sat there on the Gammas Cave by himself. At least in there wasn't as much snow as outside. The snow was getting higher and he started to stop growing. It was a bad time while the sun pack had nothing to eat. He went to a hill a little ways from the territory near moon pack and sat on a hill. This hill was where moon pack and sun pack could trade and still be friends. Until the alphas made the rule that everything is for themselves. He put his head down and watched as the sun pack did their things.

"Just come, Freya." He replied. He started walking to the boundaries of the territory. "You must be quiet there are dangerous things past here." He than walked out of the territory and went along a path that snow has not fallen on. Nobody in the pack has seen it and he calls it the "Snow-Forbidden Path" he followed it and told Freya to get down. He sat down and watched as 3 elk 2 babys and one bull elk trotted along. "I've been watching these elk for days as they get weaker but it's not the time to strike. You must not tell anyone about this. Please Freya." He said to her. They were alone in the cold snow. It looked like a blizzard may have been coming. "We should get home quick" he said.

The way the sun was starting to peak through her den was evidence enough that the small fae had overslept yet again. Although winter made everything so beautiful and made things sparkle with their beauty, it was by far her least favorite season because of the cold. Although she had an adequate winter coat, the cold always seemed to seep straight to her bones. After waking up a countless number of times throughout the night to find a warmer position, sleep tends to evade her. It is something that she had grown used to over the years, but that didn't make things easier for her because no matter what she tried, the cold always seemed to get the better of her. The only thing she found that had helped her was sharing a den with other wolves, but Tahki wasn't very close with any other members of the pack which meant that it would be a bit odd for her to march up to someone and say "Hey I don't know you very well, but do you want to sleep together?" She was many things, but brave wasn't a word that often came to mind when you thought about her. Even though she can be a bit outgoing at times, she is definitely one who avoids uneasy conversations if she can. Nonetheless, Tahki is a very independent fae who dislikes asking for help and will avoid doing so at all costs. Even in this moment as a cold shiver racked her body, her only thought was about helping the others.

Her eyes slowly flickered open, revealing a gentle amber color behind them. At some point during the past few minutes of her waking up, her eyes had somehow fluttered closed again. She was just so tired and could probably sleep the day away if it wasn't for the quiet hum of voices filtering inside her den. They were too soft to be able to tell who was speaking or what they were saying, but loud enough to tell her that many of the other wolves were awake. Tahki's head slowly lifted from her paws as a large yawn escaped her lips, her soft pink tongue curling in its wake. She attempted to stand up several times, but somehow she managed back on the ground in a lazy heap of fur. Minutes slowly ticked by before she finally emerged from her den, those amber eyes carefully squinting against the bright snow just feet away from her. It had snowed during the night but that was no surprise because it was winter after all. The way she glared at the fresh snow was quite comical, it looked as if she was trying to melt the snow away with her thoughts which was probably exactly what she was doing. Tahki's glare lingered on the bright snow a moment longer before she heard the voices return to the air around her. Her eyes immediately landed on Veyron and all of his glory. She could not deny the way her heart jumped a little bit at the sight of the handsome brute, but she knew she wasn't the only one harboring such affections for their leader. Even from this distance she could feel the lust radiating off of Rishima or maybe it was her own? Nonetheless, Tahki knew her affections were a silly little puppy crush that would fade away with time, or at least she hoped.

(I hope this is okay since I am absolutely awful with intros :3)

Audits whirled in a sudden and repetitive movement at the near sound of the paw steps of her pack-mates who, unlike Venus, had awoken earlier. Her blue-green eyes opened slowly, finding ahead of her the Cave's entrance that gave way to the sunlight, wich seemed to only provide ilumination, but had forgotten to at least warm up the freezing creatures of the lands during such a difficult winter. The soil underneath her body was cold and moist, uncomfortable for any to sleep upon. After a couple blinks, the blurred vision was finally erased, allowing her to look around. She soon noticed that she was one of the few sleeping bags left on the den, the pack most probably already active with the daily duties, some of wich could include war plans. It was unusual when Venus was not one of the firsts, if not the very first, in awaking. Her claws would attach to the land and the grass after her hind legs pushed her small silhouette up, curving her spine in a stretch, feeling how bones creaked and demanded for a proper body position. She had to lower her body into a crouch in order to exit the rocky den without a problem, though it tarnished light brown her white coat one way or another.

Eyes would scan the territory's camp with hints of inquisitiveness, wondering what each wolf may be up to for the day, Veyron class apart, including his... Romance with Rishima, whom's interactions were pretty clear nowadays. The unusual would be if you don't find these two having a pleasant chat, or just enjoying eachother's company, and it was truly amusing, if not adorable, to see their interactions. She would lift her snout into the air current as soon as a cold breeze passed by, offering all the new morning scents picked up with a deep sniff. She had grown in similar temperatures, and that favored her with a dense pelage, though it often managed to bristle her fur. With little to no difficulties, she acknowledged the aromas pertaining to her pack-mates and separated the few that resulted strange, but none recognized as a menace. An unnecessary, funny trot that struggled with the snow under her paws guided Venus towards the small meeting that had formed around the Alpha, a smile rosing on her lips.

"Ah, good morning! I hope i have not missed anything. Have i?" She'd greet them all in general, but directed the question more towards Vey. As an usual greet towards her dear friend, Venus would push her head against the male's shoulder in a brief nuzzle, making sure it was not too excessive before positioning herself at least a tail-length away, gifting Rishima the gentle smile; Close friend or not, he was her leader, accompanied by his obvious love interest.

OOC: Again, i apologize for such a late, somewhat bad post. As i said, i'd rather if the interaction with Iris and Kohl begins with mah next post. :') I have to split her up by three xd <3

"It better." Blackberry grumbled before closing his eyes. Blackberry hated winter. Yeah, he's only experienced two, this being his second one but so far each one has been bad. His first winter he lost his siblings. It had been so cold and so little food to be found. This winter isn't shaping up to be any better.
"Come on. Let's go see what Varion is so grumpy about."Blackberry perked up and scrambled to his paws. "Yeah, okay, sure." He always liked Varion - he always had nice stories to tell and maybe he would have some tips for winter. He noticed as he spoke he could see his breath floating away. He jumped and snapped at it a couple of times, trying to get it back but he was too slow and tired so he quickly gave up.

Varîon sat on top of the hill still and watched as Blackberry started coming. He was still very young and had much ahead of his life. He smiled as he saw Blackberry coming. "Maybe he wants a story?" He thought. He stood up to see if blackberry needed anything. He than headed over to blackberry, it was nice to see a familiar face come to him.

Tori had finally made it back to camp and sat down near the alphas cave. He wanted to be sitting in their one day with a companion with him possibly another brute. He saw all the beautiful colored wolves more through out the territory. Except he had a dull gray one. Tori sat down in the snow. He had a thick pelt so nothing would really happen. His eyes started to fade away and took him into a snooze. He needed to start hunting for the pack soon so he would need lots of energy.

Watching as Blackberry snapped at his own breath, Kohl couldn't help but laugh. It seemed his spirits had lifted a bit at the mention of going to see Varion. He led him up the hill, wagging his tail in greeting to the elder.

"Good morning, Varion. I thought Blackberry here could use a story. Maybe something about summer would warm him up!" Kohl bared his fangs in a wolffish grin.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye he saw a white pelt slipping out of one of the dens below and felt his heart swell.

It was good that the she-wolf was energetic. He assumed the patrol would be long and tiring.
Cain padded away from Scarlit towards Tori. The brute seemed to be sleeping soundly on the snow next to his den. He nudged him. "Tori, I believe your group is waiting on you." He whispered. He hoped the wolf would wake soon and attend to the duties assigned for him.

Before Tori could wake or speak Cain was walking back towards the entrance to let the wolves know the game plan.
"Listen up, I'm only going to say this once and then we're leaving." He stood out in front of them, his amber eyes brimming with energy. "The hunting party is being led by the Kappas and also Freya. Whatever plan they have you follow it." He looked straight towards Aeron to make sure he knew. "Aeron, Sihu, Roose and Zayev are going along with them. The rest, Scarlit, Roux, Natalia, Morra are coming along with me and Aero to patrol the territory."

Aeron was a little bit irritated he didn't get a better reaction out of Sihu. He expected something more than just a nervous, unsure laugh. It's not like he meant it. He didn't want to be stuck watching over Sihu to make sure she was doing things right. She was very eager to please, which he admired. Hm. Maybe he'd just have to try harder to fluster her.
He listened to Cain's speech intently, though grew bored after roll call and tuned the rest out.
"Well, standing here is great and all but when are we leaving?" Wasn't Freya and Tori supposed to lead them? Where were they? Why was only Luna here?

Mishka saw Veyron and was tempted to ask for permission to leave but- there were already so many wolves crowded around him, and he felt small. Small and unimportant. He kept walking. Standing by the entrance of camp and waiting for Toyota to catch up with him.
"I guess we can just go." He saw Akane talk with Veyron, which assumed to be for hunting. "Veyron seems busy." Though isn't he always? The Pack adored him and Mishka could understand his appeal but- the guy seemed nervous, liked he needed some space. Then again, that could just be because Rishima is near him.

"I think I changed my mind about the whole homicidal happy thing. I desperately want to go hunting."

He looked blackberry straight in the eyes. It was an offer Varîon couldn't refuse. "Sit." He started thinking of some stories he could have told blackberry. "Perhaps a little poem" he thought. "Maybe not." He thought. He decided to say what he felt like saying. "Summer is a hot time, a time to get ready for the year. Preperasion time. We have prepared for that time to get warm. We all huddle up sometimes for warmth so none of us get cold." Varîon saw that blackberry was cold. The whole pack was and probably even the moon pack. Varîon sat closer to Blackberry which gave blackberry some warmth. "I'm not going to be with this pack much longer, blackberry. I need you to make a promise." He said to blackberry very seriously.

Tori still had his eyes shut when Cain left as replied saying "Of course." With a huge yawn. Tori stood up and went where the group was. It seemed to be a meeting. He heard it and called over all the wolves he heard. He than went near the edge of the territory waiting for them. Most of them haven't been out of the territory unless of course they were born inside a diffrent pack. Which he didn't believe any of them were. "I'll give you all later ranks in time, for now we need a plan." He sat there and looked everyone in the eye closely with Freya and Luna near. "Maybe they would have some ideas." He thought.
