WARNING - ALL LINKS ON THE LIST MAY CONTAIN DISTURBING PHOTOS OF MUTATED INDIVIDUALS. YOU ARE OPENING THE PHOTOS WITH RISK OF SEEING SOMETHING THAT MIGHT UPSET YOU. THESE ARE ACTUAL PHOTOS AND NOT SOFTENED DRAWINGS OF CUTE BABBY LIONS These are suggestions accepted, planned or considered with very high chance of success. All approved mutations (or partially approved threads) receive a [vv] symbol. Duplicates I will just lock cause no point for me to have more than 1 of the same suggestion - don't get upset your suggestion is locked and other isn't - the idea is the same and it won, that's what counts! If I did not approve your mutation it means I am thinking about it, waiting for more player thoughts or I didn't see it yet :o 2020 note: I stopped updating this thread too often, but did a clean up in May Also, we have some mutations planned or are thinking about some, that aren't on the list, such as sub-mutations, rare conditions, spoilers that would ruin fun or challenges we're unsure of. Health messages through life - dies randomly between 2 to 8 years - Art change: Birth to Adult Radial Hypoplasia - aka Squitten - causes short legs while hind legs are long. Cannot hunt, patrol etc, just like a Blind lion. Can generate birth message, dies randomly between 1 to 8 years - Art change: Birth to Adult Minimal art change or not visibleThe thought behind those is that those mutations could be caused by breeding to old lionesses or inbreeding via user suggestions Cross-Eyed - Art change: could be eyes-like decors layered over the lineart, responsive to the actual eye colours - stat penalty - can't be retired into, can hunt or patrol though. HybridsThings are brewing! This is kept spoiler-free. Primal variantsThere's a few more variants designed and named after ancient beasts or latin/greek words, each will have a unique trait or source. Chimera issueChimera is one of most suggested mutations. The issue is that it would require two sets of lion information: Two bases, set of markings each, separate eye colours etc. Sounds like a very serious problem when coding the information - the extra tables have to be coded there, but not show up in normal lions. It is VERY difficult to do that. Method 1 - code-wise the most complex way, not even sure if possible how I imagine - adjust the lion profile by adding another table if mutation is present to show both genetics - right side is from father, left side from mother, to make it easier just copy 100% of each parent’s looks onto respectable half (unless possible, just have normal bred looks). When bred, this lion would pass only one half of the genetics (randomly picked by script). Method 2 - easy for coding, fast to implement. Make for example 10 versions of each half show up like Achromia - covering the original picture with a random half on top of the lineart. The genetics and markings show in a normal way on the original art, and the chimera half is just separate and not affecting gameplay. If bred, only the actual information passes, and the chimera half would not. Method 3 - create a "shadow" lion, hidden on the account, that acts as 2nd set of the Chimerism genetics. While breeding, the script picks one of the two lions, either main or shadow. The "shadow" genetics could be viewable via a special button click. We're probably not able to add another lion info chart on the lion's page just for this mutation. Summary: We're thinking. It's a lot of work. Not anytime soon. :( SpoilersPhocomelia - Full design Progeria - Concepts Hairless - Concept Brachycephaly - Concept Note: I might update this from time to time |

Could there possibly be a mutation that is lethal but could possibly be assisted by a broodmotherto maybe elongate the life of the effected individual? It's kind of been an interesting idea to have Broodmothers act like caretakers to severely mutated lions. Maybe for like deaf/blind lions, they could have their life elongated maybe around two or so years by having a broodmother take care of them? I don't know, but it's just a really interesting idea. Also, I understand why down syndrome and/or autism might not be accepted, but could there ever be a possibility we'll ever see a mutation that affects the mental health of a lion? maybe something that could go into what I had just mentioned with the broodmother thing and could help that? 0 players like this post! This site has jumped up several ranks in my book for the mutations, especially for the ones that could be 'deemed' morbid and/or detrimental. Birth defects happen and it is cool that it is an aspect of the game. With that being said here are a few more ideas thrown out there: - Cutaneous horn https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutaneous_horn - Prader-Willi Syndrome https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/prader-willi-syndrome - Marfan Syndrome https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/marfan-syndrome - Short Spine Syndrome https://www.google.com/search?biw=934&bih=654&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=l0gfXPOvAaGt_QbQ_ba4Ag&q=short+spine+syndrome+cat&oq=short+spine+syndrome&gs_l=img.1.4.0l7.168110.172542..176245...0.0..0.113.1806.16j4......0....1..gws-wiz-img.......0i67j0i10.emBgFv7hHU0 *already has been mentioned, I understand it not being very possible - Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidermodysplasia_verruciformis Sorry, could not get the links to work properly. I realize some of these will be very difficult ( probably impossible ) to manage through the coding of the imaging but if some form of these could be pulled off it might add a bit more into the physical aspect and stats. I also realize that in a sense some of these have been mentioned in some form. Just thought they sounded 'interesting'. 0 players like this post! Like? I'd love to see a Polydactyly lion! I have a cat at home with that mutation, and I'd just love to be able to create her accurately in the game! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Brachycephaly is something that you probably have already seen in dogs like the Bulldog and the Pug, so it's basically a short muzzle with a snub nose. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I was thinking of a Melanistic Leopon, basically a black leopard bred with a lioness and created a black leopon or melanistic leopon. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I would like to mention if polydactyl does become a thing... I would say 6 toes (working) because that's it's what I want one day (and it's more interesting than one extra toe...) And it's a mutation that the parents have a part in passing.... As well I think hip dysplasia should be explored... Details being they stay fine until around 1-4 (showing up at random) they die randomly from 4 to 8 (maybe later) it's genetically passable in real life as well as environmental factors! The art would just change slight from the hips slowly getting slimmer. Say it shows up at 1 nothing changes, 2 no change, 3 hips start showing more bone and agility stats start decreasing from 1-10 stats! By 7 (of they live that long) they are sitting (if male) or their legs are sticking my out from under their body(if female) if course art is up to you this is just my vision and something of an interest of mine... I bree d dogs in real life and cats are my next favorite breed to research (besides wolves in which the first mutation should be dire wolves... Yes I know they're a specific species but I think for the sake of the game it can be a mute... Wolvden!!!!) So I know personally how hip dysplasia works... It is awful but th is is accurate... And I get the art is going to be a hassle or not?! My vision is way different than what you could think up! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Idk about mutations... but, if it's occupy the same place as the poses, it might be worth adding mutations that are compatible with them? Or please, add polydactyly 0 players like this post! Like? |
