WARNING - ALL LINKS ON THE LIST MAY CONTAIN DISTURBING PHOTOS OF MUTATED INDIVIDUALS. YOU ARE OPENING THE PHOTOS WITH RISK OF SEEING SOMETHING THAT MIGHT UPSET YOU. THESE ARE ACTUAL PHOTOS AND NOT SOFTENED DRAWINGS OF CUTE BABBY LIONS These are suggestions accepted, planned or considered with very high chance of success. All approved mutations (or partially approved threads) receive a [vv] symbol. Duplicates I will just lock cause no point for me to have more than 1 of the same suggestion - don't get upset your suggestion is locked and other isn't - the idea is the same and it won, that's what counts! If I did not approve your mutation it means I am thinking about it, waiting for more player thoughts or I didn't see it yet :o 2020 note: I stopped updating this thread too often, but did a clean up in May Also, we have some mutations planned or are thinking about some, that aren't on the list, such as sub-mutations, rare conditions, spoilers that would ruin fun or challenges we're unsure of. Health messages through life - dies randomly between 2 to 8 years - Art change: Birth to Adult Radial Hypoplasia - aka Squitten - causes short legs while hind legs are long. Cannot hunt, patrol etc, just like a Blind lion. Can generate birth message, dies randomly between 1 to 8 years - Art change: Birth to Adult Minimal art change or not visibleThe thought behind those is that those mutations could be caused by breeding to old lionesses or inbreeding via user suggestions Cross-Eyed - Art change: could be eyes-like decors layered over the lineart, responsive to the actual eye colours - stat penalty - can't be retired into, can hunt or patrol though. HybridsThings are brewing! This is kept spoiler-free. Primal variantsThere's a few more variants designed and named after ancient beasts or latin/greek words, each will have a unique trait or source. Chimera issueChimera is one of most suggested mutations. The issue is that it would require two sets of lion information: Two bases, set of markings each, separate eye colours etc. Sounds like a very serious problem when coding the information - the extra tables have to be coded there, but not show up in normal lions. It is VERY difficult to do that. Method 1 - code-wise the most complex way, not even sure if possible how I imagine - adjust the lion profile by adding another table if mutation is present to show both genetics - right side is from father, left side from mother, to make it easier just copy 100% of each parent’s looks onto respectable half (unless possible, just have normal bred looks). When bred, this lion would pass only one half of the genetics (randomly picked by script). Method 2 - easy for coding, fast to implement. Make for example 10 versions of each half show up like Achromia - covering the original picture with a random half on top of the lineart. The genetics and markings show in a normal way on the original art, and the chimera half is just separate and not affecting gameplay. If bred, only the actual information passes, and the chimera half would not. Method 3 - create a "shadow" lion, hidden on the account, that acts as 2nd set of the Chimerism genetics. While breeding, the script picks one of the two lions, either main or shadow. The "shadow" genetics could be viewable via a special button click. We're probably not able to add another lion info chart on the lion's page just for this mutation. Summary: We're thinking. It's a lot of work. Not anytime soon. :( SpoilersPhocomelia - Full design Progeria - Concepts Hairless - Concept Brachycephaly - Concept Note: I might update this from time to time |

What about nastier mutations with organs outside the body? Gastroschisis is being born with intestinal tract outside, and Ectopia Cordis is the heart outside of the body. Epidermis Bullosa is a defect where the skin comes off and blisters super easily. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Underdeveloped/missing limbs perhaps? Not lethal but they cannot hunt or become a king. Wouldn't be hard to draw lmao 0 players like this post! Like? |

Maybe a kinked spine? that would definitely be lethal though, and i'm thinking the lifespan would be up until 1-4 months old (since age is very quick in this game) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Maybe a double face mutation? Theres a word for it but ive seen a human child with it before its very rare though. Or maybe a crying blood mutation in wich the lions always have a droplet of blood down their cheek or nose. Ps ide love a hyena lion mix if theres not one already. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I like the idea of a double bully lion, like has happened with some whippets! Would take bigger hits from any energy expenditure. Like only 5 hunts a day for females, and bigger hits during explore for kings. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I have another idea! Theres a bone mutation that makes it to where if the person gets bruised or wounded bone will grow in that spot, ive only seen it in humans but i heard animals can get it to and its incredibly rare but humans with this mutation usually live up to 30 years bit for a lion i would probably be less sense wilderness and such. If this mutation is made a thing maybe it can have higher defence and attack but live a shorter life then most lions 0 players like this post! Like? |

For the chim. Maybe add a specil button to see the other genetics rather then have them both on the same page. The button could say like. /trait list/ or something. 0 players like this post! Like? |

maybe some new primal variants based on xenosmilus, homotherium, or megantereon. some other hybrids with other members of the genus panthera (snow leopard and jaguar). or some type of neopanthera bred from hybrids or lionesses with a hidden genetic mutation that could cause a new species. very very excited to see what you come up with!!!! maybe a cheetah hybrid but since they're not in the same genus it might end up being lethal. a hyena hybrid sounds interesting in theory but the cub would almost definitely die in the womb or within its first few days alive 0 players like this post! xenosmilus and homotherium are built somewhat bearlike so it would be interesting to see. id assume they would have plantigrade feet, they'd be very large and muscley, with a somewhat hunched build. very large skulls and shoulder blades. xenosmilus is very interesting in its build and so much could be done with it 1 player likes this post! megantereon would be very big and have a lanky build. stronger forepaws. and very long fangs. I'm thinking twice the size of a regular lion with a jaguarlike build. large claws and teeth. muscular forelegs and huge forepaws. built for fighting and climbing instead of running. 0 players like this post! I do find "that's a cat breed" to be a weird argument against Lykoi. Japanese Bobtails and Scottish Folds are cat breeds, too, but we still have mutations based on them. If anything, it'd just need to be called something different. 1 player likes this post! Like? |
