[These are the hooves of a wild mustang. Constant movement on rocks, rough terrain, water, and more work the job of farriers. I've seen a young foal, not even weaned yet, get accidentally kicked in the head by its mother and spring right back up. Even if the bleeding is from a bite, it would not bleed severely. My mother was bitten by a huge horse (with malicious intent) and it left an ugly bruise, but didn't draw blood. Horse skin (not including fur) is thicker than humans', even if only slightly. In reality, Renegade is not that injured.] 0 players like this post! Like? |

Justice | Stallion | 12 years | Lookout | Mentions Whisper, Soltero Pleased, Justice lower his elegant skull using his teeth to pull at the green delicacy. He hasn't gotten a bite yet, to busy watching and waiting. Now he felt a little food wouldn't hurt. Tugging, he ripped some from the ground, munching slowly. His dark brown orbs noticed Soltero was back. It seems he was call upon their attention. His ears twisted forward, listening to his words. Moving? Finally. He toss his head a few times in a far better mood then before. He kicked up his back legs playfully, a rough pitch neigh escape him as he canter around Whisper. Justice returning to the days as a head strong young colt. He nudge her flank, urging her forward. Justice had to stay in the back, watching their flanks and to keep a keen eye on the young ones. "Let's get this show on the road." Just chuckles, gently pulling a piece of her mane in a friendly manner. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(InsertCleverNameHere,a wild horse doesn't get their teeth floated either and can have hooks which can easily break skin, and those hooves were of a mustang who lived on VOLCANIC rock, and even if our mustangs did,the hooves could still inflict serious internal damage) 0 players like this post! (Skin can definitely be broken by wild horse teeth, but only in areas flesh is thin like in the thigh areas, under bellies, the fleshy side of the butt, cheeks, neck. Still wouldn't be life threatening unless made lame and vulnerable to predators. Hooves not as much, just bruising, and that's normally only from a kick that's connection was SOLID.) Soltero . Chief . Mentions: Pretty much entire herd Previous feelings of impatience were quickly replaced with a sense of rising satisfaction, his gaze flooding with new interest as he watched the Queen rally her obedient followers. Soltero immediately took to the rear nearest Justice, feeding off the older brute's newfound energy and letting loose a few of his own lively skips and unbalanced see-sawing motions. Woohoo! Coltish antics would end however upon the realization that both Renegade and Vendetta had yet to reunite themselves with the group. He'd cease to move, gaze thrown in the direction of the pair, those arrow-chiseled ears drawn strongly forward aloft his high-held cranium. It was time that the young colt decided life or death. To slow the herd was a 'no go', 'lest he made a whole-hearted attempt to do otherwise. It was common to loose unruly children, more often than not. This was an unfortunate truth. To illness, injury, predators.. lack of guidance. It came down to the survival of the fittest, really. He'd look on a few more seconds, entrusting the herd to Justice for the moment. Awaiting to see the turnout, awaiting to see if Vendetta decided to loose the herd's protection over a stubborn thing that desired a rough fate anyways. There was only so much that could be done. And Soltero wasn't going to wait long. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 09/09/16 @ 16:54:05 by Soltero (#9059) |

Vendetta| Mare | 6 years old | Shamaness The mare felt a twinge of pain as the coLtd asked if she was his mother. Her heart pitied the poor thing. He had no mother figure to speak of, Soltero was not one to provide such care either. Nudging him again as she answered "Renegade love stand up now, come on its time to go. Let me help you little one" her tone remained motherly. Inside Vendetta felt like breaking, Renegade was not her son, but he did remind her alot of her departed one. I 0 players like this post! Renegade looked at Vendetta, his mind slowly clearing. His struggled to his feet and felt the mare's solid form as he leaned against it.He staggered forward, leaning heavily grateful for the kind mare's presence."Thank you"He whispered. For the first time somebody cared about him,and not just keeping him from straying,no,giving him a sympathetic and caring shoulder to lean on.He felt like he belonged 0 players like this post! Soltero . Chief . Mentions: Entire Herd The beige-tinged beast was inwardly glad to witness Renegade's rising, an appreciative nod awarded Vendetta's direction thereafter. He mouthed some silent words her way too, a short 'Thank you.' He'd wait until they caught up before continuing forwards himself, skull maintained low in a snake-like fashion behind them to ensure the entire family remained together in their protective formation. They'd probably gallop, and/or canter 'round until their leading woman found a suitable location to both graze and spend the night, hopefully nearest the forest's edge where they could take some form of shelter. Through the night, Soltero would accept the duty of guard, allowing all the sentries a good night's sleep. He'd patrol around them, carried forward aloft noiseless steps, most likely succumbing to a wonderful snooze come those early morning hours. Upon waking, whenever that was, the caramel stallion would take to chomping at the moist foliage below. Head would find lift on the occasion, gaze hungerly scanning through the crowd as though desiring conversation, interaction, .. perhaps some trades of physical affection. 0 players like this post! Whisper | Mare| 4 Years old | Citizen The mare jumped at his touch, confused on why the stallion had gotten so excited all of a sudden. He pranced around as I'd he had lost years to his age and become a colt again. Justice's energy was starting to rub off on her, and she to tossed her head. Though she didn't say anything in reply as he nipped a piece of her mane. However she moved forward, and gently nipped at his tail before trotting past the dark stallion. For some reason Whisper just felt comfortable around Justice, perhaps it was the one on one that was most familiar to her. ------------- Vendetta| Mare | 6 years old | Shamaness She braced herself as the colt leaned against her, thankfully he was finally up on his feet. "Alright let's take it slow. Okay?" She didn't want to force Renegade into moving faster than he could at the moment, and going a slower pace offered her sometime to grab the few herbs she would need to clean up his wounds. As she moved forward her gaze fell to Soltero as he mouthed his thank you to her, Vendetta nodded deeply as a response. She turned her head to look over Renegade again, a soft expression on her face. This was a side of him that was new to her, or perhaps it was only knew because she had never taken the time to get to know him. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Okay"replied replied Renegade, simply grateful to be helped. He couldn't remember the last time he had been touched with love,it had always been neutral or a correction. He wondered how long he would have to walk,he was pretty sure he got a stone bruise from his run and it felt like it was on fire.He wished he'd befriended Vendetta earlier, she was very kind.He stumbled slightly as the ground dipped and fell into Vendetta."Sorry"He nickered. 0 players like this post! Otekah | Mare | 10 years | Queen Otekah galloped on, keeping a slower pace so that her foal could keep up. Onida was finding this whole trip exhilarating, kicking up her heels and bounding forward. A lookout in the front released a loud whinny and the black foal responded with a toss of her head and a neigh of her own, but at her side, her mother tensed. The signal had meant that water was approaching, which most of the herd was fine with, but Otekah had always been wary of the water depths. The roar of splashing reached her ears and she saw drops of water as they soared into the air. She pinned her ears and threw her head in the air, squealing, as her legs touched the liquid, the creeping coldness crawling meanicingly up her legs. Onida | Filly | Two Months | Suckler Onida splashed happily through the river, loving the refreshing coolness that filled her body with renowned energy. She didn't notice her mother's obvious hatred for the water, how she pressed on and urged the herd to move on quicker and quicker to escape as fast as possible. A rush of adrenaline coursed through her as the river's floor dissappeared from under her hooves. The black foal's legs worked powerfully and her neck stretched up to keep her head above the surface. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Vendetta| Mare | 6 years old | Shamaness "It's okay " she nickered back softly, realizing the herd had already begun to move. A,disgruntled snort exited the mares nostrils. "Glad that they could wait" she spoke aloud to herself in an unhappy tone. Vendetta quickly got over herself, and continued to walk. They would catch up to the herd later, besides Renegade needed her attention right now and she wasn't about to leave him. She halted abruptly as they came up to a small mud puddle. "Alright lay back down so I can pack the herbs against your side and hoof. It won't take long and you should feel better after" she didn't wait for him to respond as she began to chew the herbs that were collected in her mouth, grinding them down and activating their natural remedies. 0 players like this post! Starshock looked at the mares infront of her then the stallions behind her. She snorted shaking her mane, she then notice Vendetta and Renegade falling far behind. Without a second thought she trotted to the old mare and young colt. "Hi, are you guys ok." she said as she reached them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Renegade gratefully slid down and looked at the mare."We're okay, thanks for asking he replied, trying to breath quietly so as not strain his bruised ribs."Just a little sore"He replied with a smile that turned grimace as the shamaness packed his wounds. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kitchi | Male | 2 years | Loner The bald-faced stallion dipped his mouth into the cool waters of a woodland stream, refreshing himself. The trees surrounding him swayed lightly with the breeze that set Kitchi's mane and tail moving quietly. With it, the wind blew the faint smell of the wolf pack that resided nearby. Kitchi acknowledged this, but only moved to the other side of the stream to graze. The predators' presence never really disturbed him; as long as they didn't bother him, he'd stay and feed from the forest's rich resources. Still, as simple as it was living and roaming by himself, the limited company registered him rather lonely. 0 players like this post! Like? |
