"Klaus..." The name rolled off of Mordecai's tongue, and then it hit him. "I know you! You... You look unwell..." He carefully got up, depositing his poor charge near her sister. She squeaked, and hid with Ngea a few moments before she gazed hungrily at the nearby carcass. "The alpha's son..." Illegitimate, to be honest. The poor lad had done so poorly... Mordecai had even threatened that pack that if they so much harmed a single hair upon his body, there'd be blood to spill.

"Come, sit and eat. We've plenty of food right now." Klaus, at this, did seem to relax a little. They did all seem nice, except maybe the tall strange human... James just gave him a small nod. Was that a customary greeting...?

Ngea shook her head and smiled at her sister, handing her the carcass. "There you go. I hope you feel better soon." She smiled softly and then glanced back over to Klaus and Mordecai. Well, since they knew each other that could make Klaus not be so fearful. Or not, depending on the past. Either way she agreed that he looked hungry and unwell.

Adlaide sat down after gathering the bolas, watching Klaus curiously. The poor fellow, what had they done to him? Part of her wanted to reach out to the pack and slap them. However, she knew that wouldn't end very well for anyone here. Especially herself.
Her eyes flashed around, counting the number of beings in the immediate area. There were six of them, not an impressive number, but it sure did beat only having four of them. Ah well, numbers didn't seem to matter here, just skill. That meant their numbers dwindled down to three, at least that was how Addy saw it.

Perhaps, yes... One didn't know what the two ner members were capable of though. It was quite possible that they had skills no one else had. Klaus, however, did not eat despite being offered food. Having grown up in a pack, he had a pack mentality. It'd take a bit for that to break, but for now? He wouldn't touch food unless everyone else had, and that usually meant only scraps were left.... It even caused James to frown. What on earth had happened to that poor guy?

Ngea sat next to her sister then frowned seeing Klaus refuse his food. She shifted into a wolf and padded over. "Are you supposed to follow an alpha's orders?" She asked, her head and tail held high. He needed to eat, and if ordering him to do so was going to be the only way to do it, then Ngea wasn't afraid to do so.
It'd take him a long while to get used to the way things ran here, that also meant that he'd need a general push. Whatever that push could be, she did not care at the moment. She just wanted him to get some food in his stomach. Ngea then glanced over at James. Had he eaten?


Adlaide saw the look Ngea shot at James and wondered why she was looking at him so fiercely. Either there had been some sort of fight, or Adlaide had just missed something huge. Realizing she had slept for nearly an hour meant that there had been some event that she had missed out on. Her mind flickered back and she tipped her head to look over at James, a confused expression on her face.

James just gave a sheepish smile, rubbed teh back of his neck. He had and he hadn't... He'd at least had a chunk of cooked meat, but there wasn't much more he was going to be able to eat. His stomach was still giving him fits, but at least he wans't sick. It was just his body getting over it, for the most part, thanks to the immunity the wolf blood provided.

"I... W-well, y-yes..." he stuttered. Klaus rolled right over to his belly, a whine given and tail tucked. She was alpha, yes. And whatever she ordered, he'd follow it as best as he could. Tummy exposed meant that she could easily kill him if she wanted. He'd not be able to fend himself well anyway.

"Good," she tipped her head towards the meat as a motion to eat "eat up. Eat till you're full." Her golden eyes flickered as she looked at the wolf. She seemed to hold a softness towards creatures that had been taken advantage of and abused. That softness also came with a wrath though, but that was yet to show in the dark wolf's action.
Sure she'd glanced angrily off into the darkness when she'd realized what her sister had been through but that had been nothing. Compared to the anger which gathered like a dark cloud, that little snap was only a slight taste of the angry Ngea.

Adlaide ran her fingers up and down the rope. She didn't like that Klaus felt he should just roll over like that, the poor guy probably needed a friend. She'd noticed Mordecai's instant recognition of the poor emaciated creature, but that didn't mean friendship.

That...was such an odd command. And here he'd thought he was about to be punished for something he hadn't been aware of. The brute blinked, utterly confused a few moments before he gave a small nod and slunk towards what remained of the first carcass. The one that Ngea had hunted was obviously being drained by her sister. Granted, she'd not be able to drain it of all the blood. Newborns couldn't hold as much down right away...but she was holding more than most. Then again, she had been starved....

Ngea stepped away from the wolf and let her haunches plop down near the smoldering fire. She gave a long sigh of something similar to exhausted contentment and slowly sagged to the ground. Her tail curled around her flank and she glanced around with sleepy golden eyes. She'd hadn't slept in a long while, and it was clearly just now catching up with her. "I hope no one minds... I'm gonna drop off for a few minutes." Her wolfish jaws parted in a long yawn, and her bright golden eyes blinked heavily.

Adlaide turned to glance over the party once more, everyone seemed somewhat relaxed. Klaus looked beyond confused, his expression made Addy smile. Had he ever been full in all his life? Was there ever enough scraps for the wolf to eat? From the looks of it the answer was no, you could point out nearly all the bones in his poor starving body.
Adlaide was amazed at he could even walk, or move at all. She imagined the terrible gnawing feeling she'd experienced after not eating for merely two days and couldn't imagine how bad it would be. With a little meat and muscle on his bones perhaps Klaus would be far more than the skinny omega the pack had molded him into.

Perhaps, yes, he would be. For the time being it'd be hard to tell. Klaus was definitely smaller than the other wolves in the current group though, having been the runt of his litter on top of everything else. At least here he would find warmth, shelter, food and plenty of companionship. The bones, even, were not spared, to be honest. He just cracked what bones wre around the place and sucked the marrow from them. It was a tasty treat that only the alphas got, and his mother, every so often, snuck him some.

Ngea soon faded off into a dreamscape, her peaceful form curled near the ember spewing fire. Her dark pelt reflected the flames, making it seemed that she were made of some dark metal rather than flesh and bone.

Adlaide glanced down at the bolas. She inwardly wondered why everything had gone silent as soon as Klaus arrived. Was it because they did not trust him? Well, Ngea seemed to trust him. Or maybe she was just tired. James had turned back into a cool clam, and the rest of the group didn't exactly say much to begin with.
She dragged one finger through the dust, sketching a picture with her fingers against the cold harsh ground.

"What...are you drawing...?"

The voice was bound to surprise her. It was the young vampire girl, just watching her draw. Her eyes were the only part that moved. She was otherwise virtually still. Was she even breathing? It was hard to tell, but yes, she was. The young woman was just...curious, silent. What was it Adlaide was doing?

Adlaide very nearly jumped from her skin, she turned and glanced over at who had spoken. The young women took a breath then smile. "You scared me." She said, a smile touching her face. She glanced down at the drawing and shrugged. "Home, I suppose."
Really it was a family portrait. The lines her fingers had drawn had started out indeterminable lines, now it roughly resembled four people, each of them smiling. Mother, father, herself, and James. It was far from finished, but in her mind's eye she had it captured perfectly. Using the picture in her head she continued, looking back down she drew her fingers through the dirt with the up-most care. Unlike the hastily scratched out plans from earlier, this she was doing with very careful movements.

Her brows furrowed a bit as she watched, and the young vampire carefully made her way over towards Addy. Home...? That obviously wasn't home, and those were children. "Who are they...?" she then asked again, wondering what it was that was there before her. They were obviously a family. Sure, there were no colors, but she could tell. Sharp eyes caught every little detail in it.

"They were my family. Well, James is still around." She said, her voice falling to somewhere just above a whisper. She pointed at each one. "My father, he was really brave, he went off to fight in a war. My mother," she paused and took a breath, "she went with him. She didn't have to but she did." She gently moved to point to herself. "That's me, and there's James."
She glanced up at the vampire girl and smiled softly. "Home, that's where my home was. With them. It didn't matter if we were in a house, or building, where they were... that was home."

"What happened to them...?" She spoke as if they were dead... That pulled a small pain from her chest, as if there was some deep seeded knowledge in there somewhere about her own parents. She hadn't the slightest idea why this hurt, too, but it did. There was obviously something going on here...but what it was? Who knew... It was truly hard to tell. "Are...are they not here...?"
