Edited to add: Nice! I just got lucky and got Copal Quagga from a RMA on my king. The rest of the markings aren't that great, but that one is apparently fairly rare.

So I was sitting around today at work, thinking about ideas for projects.

I wanted to do a project that was a little 'unusual' as in not one that a ton of people would be doing (such as get all zebras on one lion, etc.).

So I came up with using NCL (Common, Exclusive, and Event) markings, bases, etc. to try and make pretty, natural lions. I'm going to aim for Countershaded (either Golden or Cream), eventually with Glass Eyes, Peach Skin, and Event/Exclusive Markings only. I also want to get some decent stats. I don't expect I'll be leaderboard, but I'd love to get my king at 1.5k+. I have a heritage-less male (a groupie from the event months ago I snagged just before I quit) that I'm currently patrolling to take over soon.

Here's the details: Project: Naturally Beautiful. Any advice, help with designs, etc. is welcome! I'm currently off to the Wardrobe to start trying to make pretty lions with just Common NCL markings (for now).

You can really make some stunning lions with NCL markings - and I happily will encourage and support you in your journey! I considered a similar project one time but decided against it. I'll keep an eye on my NCL claims for nice combinations of exclusive NCL features & your planned bases to offer you!

Thank you! Mostly for "pure" NCLs, I'm looking for the Exclusive Markings (so Clay, Marigold, and Copal ones) and Peach skin. Any help is appreciated.

I'm debating right now if I want to do a little den clear-out and try to either get some peach-skinned NCLs to "pretty up" or if I want to make myself a few custom (but NCL marked) girls to get started with.

I've been playing around in Wardrobe with strictly NCL markings and made a few nice ones (I think) so far. I think they look good both as a male and as a female too.

A nice Sunflower one (although does have Ear Backs, I just liked the way it looked)

Pretty Savannah with nice Quartz and Mocha markings

Mongoose with Chert and Henna markings

Open to any design ideas if anyone's bored and wants to play around in the Wardrobe. I've been having fun making up pretty naturals with just NCL markings.

Ahhh everything that's been happening with both my accounts makes it so hard to stay in this clan, but I have a plan. If I can get my hands on a heritageless male (or gen 2 male if I'm desperate) I can lineage replace my current king once he's old enough and have a Skyward king for Hard Mode!

Also, question on mutations: my bro bought me a patches MOD, can I use it on my king after he's hard mode compatible or would that make him non-compatible?

You can apply whatever to your king, it won't affect if he is HM-compatible at all. Heritage replacing your current male would be okay for other members and even your other account to use if he were 1st gen only, but to be able to begin/keep on with the challenge that male you are keeping the looks of should be the result of your own, HM breeding - not sure if you wanted to know that, but I thought you'd appreciate the info all the same.
