So I just discovered there are some Golden Specials you can apply with Oasis applicators...and I'm tempted. I had planned to do NCL colors, but man, I do love Goldens. Topaz is actually rather pretty, although I normally prefer Countershaded bases.

Topaz makes me melt. xD I made a custom lioness with Topaz on my main, and my heir there will also be likely changed to Topaz.

But if you want to stick to countershaded, you should probably avoid the temptation!

I was thinking of doing some Topaz and maybe making my king Fossil. That gives me Mediums, which gives me a decent change of Light and Dark too. Plus 30% chance of a Special base. and it'll always be gold or cream so...

So I'm working on a design for my next king. I want to start moving towards breeding for the Cairngorm base since it's become a bit more possible for me now after December (yay!)—and outside that general goal I'm also going to be breeding Black Special bases. I wanted to know what you guys think of something like this? It looks stellar with a Celestial base but I won't be able to do that and remain totally HM with my stud since my current Celestial prospects are not my own cubs... I kinda wanted to shoot for a dusty sky/fading sky look.

@_@ That's beautiful Indy! And I seriously wish you all the luck in the world with Cairngorm - I have less than two weeks with my celestial boy and he's not thrown me one. Ah well, I got everything else marking wise for my Shadow Crystal on a Celestial base girl thanks to him, so it will suffice. ^^

Also IIRC, can't you still be HM if your king is a second gen HM cub? I know he'd not be a compatible stud but thought that 2nd gen HM cubs were still eligible as HM kings.

Yes, you can king any 2nd gen cub, but if you use a 2nd gen cub to heritage replace another lion, the lion you are keeping the looks of that is being replaced must be HM compatible too.

I snagged an Ice base chased (and posed!!) NCL today. Woohoo! She’s definitely my best grab—up there with the ivory double margay I caught.
