So I'm trying to pick a good natural look for my king. I am going to go Fossil/Fossil for his base/mane in the hopes to get some special golds and creams to hopefully go with peach skin and glass eyes. However, to conform with my project, all his markings are going to be NCL markings. I also think I'll do Blade mane since I'm giving my pride Zulu names, and Zulu Warriors often wore a crest of feathers that arched up over their head. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hi I'm Cheetoh. I wanted the challenge of building my pride ground up from a rolled king and NCL. I customized them so they actually felt like they were mine. They didn't before. My goal is to avoid inbreeding much as possible, on all games that have breeding I avoid inbreeding like the plague. Welcome Cheetoh! And cheetah based lions, yay! I'm actually going to be doing similar when my king switches - but with some tight color restrictions too. I will end up with some inbreeding but with pride lore reasons and none of those cubs will be passed to anyone (with the exception of saving them to chase as adults to become NCLs). Anyway I'm just happy to geek over someone also going with a strong cheetah theme. :D Pariah - I dropped you my vote but that was HARD. Honestly the only one I didn't care for was #2 and that's just because of the mane marking. xD 0 players like this post! Like? |

That's ok! It is a bit bright. I think if I used that one, I would tone it down a tad so it blended a bit more.

xD If it was toned down a bit more I think it'd be fine - I just don't like how sharp it is on the edges (I like a softer transition, especially on natural lions). And yeah, I'm super excited, especially as I have a stronger love for cheetahs these days! this boy will be kinged soon, and these girls are the initial core of my "Cheetah" pride. But I decided to stick with the color limits I initially set out for my pride - which means only black and cream bases/marking colors, and excluding the more extreme fantasy colors (ice, but no glacial or arctic; no teardrop or nacre, etc.). The only time a non-qualifying color will be accepted is when it's stacked beneath an accepted color which is the most visible - so for cheetah markings, I can stack all of one type, but Onyx, Black, or Cream has to be on top. I have two core markings - Cheetah Heavy or Cheetah Royal, and Inverted Cheetah - which I aim to have in the middle slots (somewhere between 3-7). Everything else, so long as the color matches my limits, can be completely random - which means that the cheetah markings may end up being more or less pronounced, and giving a lot more variation to a very strict cheetah look. I... can really geek out over this, so here's a gallery of a bunch of random lions that meet the criteria. / end geek 0 players like this post! Like? |

Welcome Cheetoh!! :D @Pariah I love the 3 and 4 designs. They look awesome with this light golden tones.  On the other hand, I am at several days from the retiring of my current king and he gave me this second gen cub as an heir: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794114815485 I'm pretty happy with him and his natural look, I have applied a couple of marks, the fossil mane and the primal mutation, but can't decide about the base. @Pariah Thanks! And heehee - yes Chuntao I had to customize. I decided I'd start getting in on the peach skin thing a bit, and found a cheap posed NCL with peach skin. :D @Daerion Did I forget to welcome you back? Doh! What a lovely heir, btw. Ducat does look perfect for him, and in looking through bases on Wardrobe, I'd have to say that if you were going to apply any special base, fossil would be the best to keep a similar look and to go with the rest of his markings. Guess it really just matters if special bases mean anything to you and whether you'd prefer gold or cream countershaded? :D 0 players like this post! Like? |
