Hmm, I wonder if I could get some luck with a second-generation (from outside lines) to replace a royal-maned "keeper" for my next king. Hmm... I'd love a Felis or Smilus, but I know that's hard to get.

I mean, to be honest a "plain" Royal mane wouldn't be too bad. If you "stat replace" and keep looks, they would keep the Royal mane, right?

Right, but there's really nor a reason to keep him plain forever. You can purchase several marking applicators, or some apps from the TC and add to him some nice marks here and there maintaining his natural-look essence and the Royal mane intact.

Oh, About what you say in your previous post, I know your problem with king sucession very well, as I put myself the rule to put as a king a direct son of the current one... I'm also avoiding inbreeding, so to breed the sisters of my current king I search for cool gen1 studs over there, this way I also assure some new blood to the pride and the inclussion of some new marks to the new generatios. If in the future I can replace my king with an heritageless groupie the problem with the inbreeding line will dissapear.

Yeah, I'm a bit conflicted. I'd love Tau's son to continue his line just for "king" reasons. But then I do want to keep some pretty daughters for a "Royal mane" pride! So it's hard to decide which to do. I mean, I assume Royal manes aren't going to be horribly uncommon. If I managed to get 9+ out of 26 with the right combo, I assume I'll probably have a good pick of 2nd Gen Royal manes without too much effort.

Hmmm... I honestly did not think I would get this lucky with the breeding! Normally I never have much luck! I was not expecting 2 Smilus, 2 Felis, 2 Primals, and a ton of Royal manes. I was thinking I'd get like...1 Royal mane and be happy with that!

Hmm... since Thick is an NCL mane, I think I will change my King's mane instead of hunting for NCLs, to Barbary. Much easier to try to breed for Royals that way (and gives me another condition to keep an NCL around for a one-time breeding).

And yep, that's what I did, Lithium. Changed to Sideburn (before I knew Barbary was an option). It worked pretty well though! Now I just have to decide what I'm keeping and not keeping!

So...does anyone know some First Gen/No Heritage kings with Sideburn or Barbary? That's proven to give Royal mane when bred with Thick so.... Looking into breeding a few outside-lined Royals.

@Lithium - Thanks. And not entirely, my king will always be sunset based. And if I get any 2nd gen sunset cubs, i'll keep them as well. But I am beginning to like the black bases a bit more the red bases.
