Once Aaron had gotten in, the driver turned around and began driving to the hospital. Maia had leaned back and closed her eyes for a second before looking up at the ceiling. She glanced over at Aaron, hoping he wasnct uncomfortable with the silence in the car.

Aaron continues to look out the window as they drove to the hospital, taking in all the sights of the city. He had been here before, but it was so long ago, and nothing was the same. Nothing at all. He noticed Maia glance at him, and, thinking she wanted conversation, asked, "Is your back alright?"

Aaron seemed fascinated by the window, and when he looked over and asked how her back was, she sighed slightly with her attention being drawn back to her back. "It isn't at its best, for sure. I just hope not too much damage was done." Maia looked out the window for a second before returning her eyes to Aaron. "So, are you enjoying your time in LA?"

Aaron's eyebrow twitched slightly at her sigh, but he figured that was more from her pain than him interrupting her thoughts. He nodded at her statements, "You are still walking, so it cannot be too injured." He looked out the window at her inquiry, then turned back to her with a small sigh, "I arrived this afternoon, so I cannot give you a good opinion. But it smells and the people are annoying."

Maia agreed with that logic, and she nodded her head. "That is very true. " Aaron looked out the window again when she asked about his stay, then turned back to face her with a sigh of his own. When he began replyng to her question, she listened with interest, glad to have a distraction off of her back. "You arrived here only this afternoon? Well, I guess you must have a crazy first impression. First day you get here and you stop a mugging. I'm sorry about the smell, and the people can be annoying... Some LA citizens can be like that."

The corner of Aaron's mouth twitched in a slight smile when she nodded, and he leaned back in the seat of the car as she thought about his reply to her inquiry. He sort of smiled again at her statements, "It is a rather large city, mugging's are not entirely uncommon." He did think it was strange that it had happened to him and Maia, but he dismissed those thoughts. "There is nothing I can do about the smell, and I may have just had bad luck with people so far." He had to refrain from saying that she wasn't so bad, but he decided that it couldn't hurt and said, "If you are taking offense, I do not find you annoying."

Maia considered what he said, they were pretty common. "That is true, it's still a bit odd you witnessed one on your first day. But weird things happen all the time." Aaron looked as if he was thinking on something, and she listened as he continued speaking. "Oh, I wasn't taking offence. But, I am glad I am not annoying you." They had just pulled up to the hospital, and the driver told them they had arrived.

Aaron looked back out the window as she responded to his comments, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly at her words. He nodded in response, thinking about how she had said weird things happen; she didn't know she was talking to a demon, or that her crazy ex-boyfriend had summoned said demon. He found the situation rather amusing, and he was surprised to find himself wearing a small smile. He nodded again at her, and when they stopped in front of the hospital he got out of the car, went over to Maia's side and opened the door for her, and offered his hand should she need it.

Maia watched him nod, and she almost asked him ehat he was smiling about when they had arrived at the hospital. Aaron exited the car and came over to her side to open her door. Seeing his extended hand, she took it and got to her feet. "Thank you." Maia went to the front window and asked the driver how much the ride would be, and she started digging her wallet out of her bag.

Aaron had to refrain from resting his free hand on her back to steady her when she stood, as he wasn't entirely sure if that sort of gesture would be appreciate or deemed... creepy in this day and age. Instead, he nodded in acknowledgement, and sighed noisily through his nose when he realized that they had to pay this man. He pulled the stolen roll of cash out of his pocket and thumbed through it for the right amount, and handed it to the driver before Maia had a chance to find her wallet.

Maia was about to pull out her wallet when she saw Aaron had just taken out a wad of money and payed the driver. She wanted to protest, it being her injury that had caused the need for a car in the first place. But by the time she was going to protest the car had driven away. Maia looked to Aaron, "You shouldn't have paid. We are here for me, after all."

Aaron slid his hands into his back pockets after he paid, and shook his head at Maia, "No, it's fine. You need your money more than I do." He figured that he could just steal some more if he had to, but he doubted he would. Human food didn't really do much for him, he was finding, and it wasn't as if he would ever need to pay for travelling. He cleared his throat after a moment, then tilted his head towards the hospital, "Come on, let's get you checked out."

Maia would have protested further, but she had a feeling he wouldn't take any money from her. So she let go of her wallet and nodded, beginning to walk towards the hospital. They were about halfway to the doors when Maia started feeling a little woozy, and she stumbled toward the ground.

Aaron took his hands out of his pockets when she nodded, satisfied that she accepted the fact that he was going to pay and there was nothing she could do about it. He followed her to the hospital, lost in his thoughts until he noticed that she was falling. He was by her side in less than a second--much faster than any normal human should have been able to move--and caught her around the waist and held her up, "Are you alright?"
