Sophia awoke from her short nap to find her squirrel friend had left at some point, but plenty of birds had come down from the trees to land on the bushes that surrounded her. She pushed herself to a sitting position, stretching her arms upwards and letting out a yawn. She looked around groggily, no one had disturbed her in her little safe haven, not even the mean old grounds keeper that liked to scold her for messing with his plants. Her staff was laid out beside her, and she picked it up to set it across her lap, stroking the wood gently as she did so. She would get up and go to her room soon, but for the moment she wanted to enjoy the peace of nature.

Rene's nose twitched for a quick second, her closed eyes squinting shut before gravity quickly responding and her head lolling to the side. She gave a rather unattractive scowl as the small aching seemed to pulsate throughout her neck, meeting the shoulder, which made the ability to crane her neck nearly impossible. A surreal sensation crossed her as blurry and distorted objects came into view and with a disjointed haze gradually receding to the point where she could finally make up the many objects that replaced the blurry images she saw merely a second ago. After examining her surroundings, she concluded that she was still in the Sitting Room.

'Must have fallen asleep..,' she thought as she continued to study the room, neck screaming in protest, though she payed no mind to the tension on her neck and only applied more pressure with her fingers to somehow null the pain. Only then did she realize that students still accompanied the sitting room, too lost in their own discussions to pay any attention to the raven-haired girl.

Her eyes narrowed down, annoyed with this small, but throbbing ache.
'This is pointless.'
With that thought in mind, she forced her other hand that wasn't occupied, and dug into her robes' inner pocket, fingers ghosting over the familiar sensation of the long, narrowed piece of wood. Digging it out of her pocket, her left hand was angled awkwardly, as her dominant hand was busy applying pressure, pressing the tip to her pale skin in its desired spot, whispering an 'Auxilium sui', a standard and small healing spell that even measly beginners can learn and easily cast.

Almost like magic, which it was, the ache in her neck slowly dulled out until the feeling was no more. The contented susurrus of breath reached past her lips and she blithely rolled her head back. Promptly standing up, she arched her back until hearing the satisfying crack of her joints. Now fully awake, she patted down her robes, the slight creases smoothing out upon contact, and thought it best to look for her lovely familiar, for he had no idea where their new dorm was, as neither did she, but nothing but a quick skim of the map provided in the envelope would help. Switching her wand from her left to her right hand, she pointed the wand facing downwards and closed her eyes, envisioning herself just outside the school and the spell, 'adjumenta'.

Feeling a slight pressure and a small breeze of rushed air, the spell successfully apparating herself in the desired location she requested. The once prick of pressure subdued and the eventful chatter, that was before in the sitting room, was replaced with small chirps of the birds talking to one another. The sun glazed down upon her, almost as if it was infuriated with her presence, though, fortunately, the shade coming from the trees decreased the heat, if only slightly.

Twigs and discarded leaves were crushed under the weight of her footwear, eyes continue to roam for any sign of the black-spotted (and striped) pelt that belonged to Cal.

Sweat had began to form on her forehead which was easily wiped away with her hand, though it did nothing to help with this dreaded weather. Tired and incredibly hot with the weather, she walked up to a big tree, her back sliding down the trunk and ignoring the sound of scraping that attempted to tear through her robe, and sat against the tree. Her eyes caught a small twig in her hair and her fingers quickly entangled it, flicking it in front of her and boredly watched as it landed in a heap of leaves before turning her attention to the limited clouds above her.
"Right now, winter doesn't sound like such a bad idea.."
