Honestly, I got really lucky getting my sunset king I think. For the first 3 attempts, I wasn't exactly thinking of genetics, I was just sort of... breeding lionesses. I didn't get any sunsets from this, of course, but I got this cute cub along the way:

Then, on the fourth attempt when I actually knew a thing about genetics, I bred this girl: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794110454159
with Ifrit, and the sunset cub (which is now my king) was the only cub in the litter!

And next Friday I'll be mutie/stat replacing with this guy: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794111983853 (Keeping the Sunset, of course, just getting the mutation and stats) and lab test frogging because for some reason the sunset looks kinda weird as a male primal??? Maybe that's just me x'D

I haven't noticed any difference on him as a primal male. For me it looks okay xD

Ah, for me I think the female pose just shows off the sunset and cheetah markings a little more clearly? The primal's ok, but the female pose looks a little more clear ^^ Eh, maybe that's just me c'x Either way, it'll be interesting! I've never had a primal king (queen???) before, and it's great timing for Felis too. Can't wait for Friday :'D

Even though I really like having kings with very different looks each time, I'll probably be keeping the sunset for a while... c'x

Heh, breeding sunset is a challenge in itself. Breeding a sunset felis is nearly impossible! xD The only way is to statrep on a felis.
Though, I always pick mutie studs over normal ones. I like both piebald and primal so it's hard choice! I still haven't decided if I'll stat rep my future sunset king to a pied or a primal. :D

Yeah c'x Can't imagine how hard it'd be to get a mutie sunset that wasn't mutie replaced! I actually didn't think I was going to get a sunset before Aether was born (didn't expect to get one so soon) so I CRB'd Aether's OG Fur mom. No mutation, but he's sunset so that's fine <3

Honestly I do quite like mutie studs and I'll usually choose them , but I'm just keeping my king as a non-mutie for a few more days since I do know some people don't like primal :/ Can't wait for the primal tho

If you get a sunset soon, I'd prob stat rep with primal because of felis o3o That's what I'm doing. Unless you find a pie with decent stats that doesn't cover up too much of the sunset base ^^ Then I'd go with pie

Sunset is way better than most of the muties you could have gotten! :D

I guess it's because they're so common. My point that any mutie is a mutie and if I get a sureprise one out of a studding then I gladly take it! :D

I think if I magically get a sunset soon, I'll probably give him a primal mod, so I get more years out of him. His stats will probably be sh*t, but it's not that important for now. :)

Yeah, if I remember correctly I remember someone saying they wouldn't bred to my stud if he was a primal c'x But yeah, I agree, I quite like surprise muties! Besides, not like my stud price is going to go up at all because he's a primal, it'll stay the exact same as it is now o3o

Ah, nice ^^ I don't have a primal MOD, I sold mine months ago. Totally worth it though, I sold it for cheap and I still got a ton of GB from it ^^

OK speaking of terrible stats literally look at my king's stats. My FIRST, ROLLED king, not even halfway through his reign, could probably easily beat the shit out of this king rn. At least the primal has like 408 stats so it's better c': (The primal was born with 404 stats and all of his colors are either white, black or grey so before I had an official name for him ((Gonna just keep calling him Aether like this king)) I nicknamed him 'Error' because... Error 404? //shotdead)

I don't have one either, but I don't know, I like to make sure I can breed another one before the current king is gone forever. That's what I did with my sidereal king... so far he bred one sidereal.

Lol, his stats in not important. Look all of his slots are gone! No one really cares for the sunset stats, because they're so rare. Even my sidereal could go fine with less stats as I've been told that it doesn't really matter for look studs.
I love unholly! I left my rolled king plain lol.

Ah, I have a handful of lionesses pregnant with single cubs from sunset studs... I can't decide if I should intabirth or not... my dawn lioness gave me nothing out of 3 cubs, but you got your king form a single cub nest.

Yeah c'x I mean, primal barely passes anyways so I don't see the problem if you don't like primal but eh

Tbh I wanted to keep my previous king, King Thoth (Cherry Blossom + Mottled) until he, at least, passed both. He passed his mottled once, but it was ugly so I sold it (literally a few minutes ago). He never passed his Cherry because I got a sunset cub and, as much as I love Cherry Blossom, sunset is better (and it's genetics are better. Cherry Blossom is beautiful but tbh the genetics are a pain, I don't like most of the fails :'D)

Yeah c'x I personally don't really bother with stats all that much, but hey, once Sunset starts getting more common... more stats might help me out :'D So I'm trying to get my stats up. Once I mutie replace I'll be actually raising his stats quite a bit if I can, hopefully the sunset + primal + half-decent stats will be good enough to continue getting more stud requests! I am very happy I got his slots gone the first week c'x Though he started out with 7/15 because my previous king had a bunch of stud requests sent to him after I went to sales chat and was like "Yo this dude is dying in like 30 minutes have his children" x'DDD Surprisingly it worked, I was laughing

Yaaaay :D Unholy was a good base honestly. He passed it a few times, but I honestly treed most of his unholy cubs? x'D It had decent genetics so, despite him being a rolled lion, his cubs weren't... the worst, at least.

It's sad you didn't get his base passed, but at least it's an app. So a biz easier to get than sunset :D Oh I love mottled! It would be cool to have a sunset king with mottled <3

I used to mess with stats, but got tired. It's mostly in the hands of a few. Even with a 6k King I could only make subpar cubs. Although I plan on getting one of my Kings on the leaderboad!
But yeah, if your king has stats is always nice. If I'm torn between two studs I tend to choose the higher statted one.

I was considering a Kiman on my side, but I don't like it's fails. I also messed with rosettes, so I got a double as a king, but those pass so rarely that most of his cubs are plain. It really bothers me! XD

Oh, it's so cute you has a plot for your clan! I can hardly stick to names as it makes it harder to find specific lionesses. I mean genetics wise. I'm a mass breeder, so opening them up one by one to check bases, marks and stuff takes a long time. I should come up with an icon system so I know which lioness belongs to which project where she is on the perfect scale. XD

Yeah, after sleeping on it I figured I need the GB for more stud requests. So I'll be patient with the one cub lionesses. I think I've got enough red lionesses for now. I'll change them out with specials as they pop them out. :D

Aaaaa I'd love to get a sunset with mottled! I have a few mottled girls in my pride. Doubt I could get a mottled sunset though, mottled is a pain to pass :'D My mottled girl Pandora has the 'medium countershaded special', but she's in the black group, not red like sunset. Still, it's possible to get a sunset mottled from her... not gonna hope on it too much though, it's probably not gonna happen x'D

Yeah, I don't really care too much about stats ^^ But when I have an heir/king I do try to get their stats up anyways -shrug-

The fail bases though :'D As I learn more about bases and such, I've learned to be more careful with my king's genetics, more specifically the fail bases and I usually get those c'x Yeah, I love sunset's fails tbh which is just another reason to love sunset!

Yeah, my entire pride always has plots n' stuff. Glad you think it's cute! All my lionesses have names (aside from a couple simply named 'sunset breeder __' but shHHHHH), but they don't really follow a naming pattern :/ Usually it's after songs, names that just sort of pop into my head, or words in other languages. In the plot, ranks are being added so often that I came up with 'tags' for each of the ranks that fit in the footnotes so I can remember what each lioness does. Like, hunter is HxF (Hunter, Female), and hunter-in-training is HxITF (Hunter, in training female) It's quite helpful, especially since several lionesses have more than one rank because of how the ranking system works. (Fun Fact= It was based off of a popular 'tag' system in a game I used to play, to show which group you belonged to and what rank you were easily. Usually it was like GroupxRank but shortened to fit beside the name of your character)

Sounds like a good idea o3o Tbh I bought a couple lionesses just because of their genetics in hopes to get more sunsets x'D

Me too! I think I'll ditch about half of my main pride too, as I start to run out space an my current pride don't like to throw sidereals...
