Fishing? that was something Hawkpaw had never tried. He was curious about how the slimy creatures tasted. He knew they definitely smelled sharper than their usual prey. His brow furrowed slightly at the she-cat. What desire she had to go and stick her paws in water for fun was beyond him. However, if it would help the clan...
He had just opened his jaws to speak, when the sound of the clan returning from the gathering caught his ear. Rising slightly, he blinked at the sight, then back to Maplepaw, shifting on his paws.
"I think we might have to wait on fishing. Look's like they're back from wherever, and I bet Tawnystar will be letting everyone know whats happening." He mewed quietly, looking apologetic, and relieved at the same time. Trotting after where the group of cats had just passed, the tom had barely slunk into the camp when he heard his own name being called. with a confused expression, he padded forward and crouched, not particularly fond of being a focus. He wasn't entirely sure what Tawnystar wanted from him, and he wished the leader would have just mentioned it in private.

TawnyStar smiled down at the apprentice. "Hawkpaw..." She began. "Though you did not attend the gathering, I have been thinking. You are a good apprentice Hawkpaw, and a fast learner. I believe it is time for you to earn your warrior name." TawnyStar smiled brighter. " Are you ready, Hawkpaw?"

Maplepaw blinked at Hawkpaw while standing to her own feet, Tawnystar's call still ringing within her brain. "Agreed. VVe have pretty much all the time in the world between training to learn on our own." She mused softly while trotting along back towards camp. She kept close attention on the slightly older appie to ensure she made it back to camp safely. As they arrived at their home, she took a seat towards the edge of the group. Internally, the fae wondered what the meeting would be about. She was only 8 moons old, so warrior ship was far off. She hoped her official mentor would be named, and if not, something exciting would be announced. Maybe, she would be taking part in another cat's final assessment!

Brows raised to crimp cinnamon forehead when Hawkpaw was called up. "VVoo." She whispered quietly in a nibble of support for him. From what Maple had seen, the masculine seemed to be a little bit awkward and apprehensive when social interactions were taking place. Yet, her breath got caught in her throat as Tawnystar spoke once more. Making him a warrior? No was way he 12 moons old yet! VVas he that good at being a Thunderclanner?

Her winding banner curled around small feet in anticipation of what was to come.

Hawkpaw straightened slightly as Tawnystar's words rang across the camp. A warrior? While every apprentice dreamed of such a moment, Hawkpaw had not anticipated his own apprenticeship ending for some time. Perhaps Tawnystar noticed more than he knew? Hawkpaw fidgeted on his paws for a moment. In truth, he was not certain if he was ready to be a warrior. It felt as if his own training had just begun. However, it wasn't as if the tom could refuse such a moment, either out of disrespect or shame. Slowly, he straightened his spine, yellow gaze going from the dirt, to his leader. He couldn't remember if he had ever spoken out loud in front of so many cats, so his voice was quiet and tinged with the smallest trace of doubt.
"I'm ready for anything you expect of me, Tawnystar." He finally said, tail tip twitching in a self-conscious fashion.

TawnyStar smiled and nodded. "Very well. I call upon my star clan ancestors to look down upon this apprentice, who, has shown great promise in our clan. Today he shall receive his warrior name." TawnyStars eyes closed as star clan told her what Hawkpaws name would be. "Hawkpaw, in the name of star clan, your warrior name shall be..." TawnyStar grinned as the cats leaned in suspense. "HawkFlight." Cheers went up around camp, the cats congratulating HawkFlight.

Gingerfang cheered out the new warrior's name, "Hawkflight! Hawkflight! Hawkflight!" She meowed. She hardly knew the tom, but she cheered for him none the less, remembering her pleasure and excitement at her own ceremony. She had been a lot older though for her ceremony. She knew the apprentice was promising, but you could always learn more. None the less, the ginger warrior trusted her leader's decision. If she thought it was the right time for him to become a warrior, than it was the time for him to be a warrior.

The newly named tom bobbed his head awkwardly, still unused to being seem by so many cats. While he was excited, like any apprentice would be, he was still nervous at the new undertaking. He paid the proper respects to Tawnystar, and knew that by all rules, he would be sitting vigil that night. Thankfully, the cat rarely spoke unless spoken to, so a silent guard duty was not a difficult undertaking. Twitching his tail, Hawkflight padded towards the fresh kill pile after all was said and done, knowing eating would at least help him stay awake in the long night. Not that the leaf-fall chill would let him nod off.
Plucking a small piece of prey, he paused, wondering if he should continue his usual meal space where the apprentices ate, or if he was supposed to change up that as well. He swayed for a moment on his paws, then decided on half and half, crouching by some leaf litter.
'Well, change is always good.' The though brushed his mind as he watched the clan.

TawnyStar dissmissed the clan and jumped down, padding over to the new warrior. "I am very proud." She murmered. "You are very young, but i see much promise in you. Congratulations." TawnyStar praised, her golden eyes gleaming. She smiled and padded off somewhere, most likely going to hunt.

SilverTune, also a warrior, who had been named merely two days ago, padded over to HawkFlight. She smiled at him, her silver fur gleaming brightly. " Congrats HawkFlight!" She exclaimed, quietly though. She had always been shy, cats wondered how she had met HawkFlight. She smiled at him, hoping with all her heart she wasn't blushing. Dont hold your breath, she thought to herself.

Hawkflight paused mid-bite as the she-cat approached him. The two had trained together briefly, however his own quiet, and her shyness had meant not the most in depth conversations. However he knew the she-cat was polite, and friendly enough. Pulling his head up from the mouse he had been chewing, he nodded awkwardly, although the full stomach and shade of the bracken he sat by making him a bit less fidgety than usual.
"Thanks, I...yea." His tail twitched and after a rather long pause, pushed the mouse forward with a narrow paw.
"Want some? There isn't much on the pile right now, given the season." He mewed, momentarily wondering if he should volunteer for hunting the next day. He wasn't used to having to think about what to volunteer or get called on for.

Hawkflight twitched an ear. Like the logical cat he was, he wasn't so sure of her words.
"But your scent doesn't seem like you've eaten recently." He paused, suddenly wondering if it was considered rude to tell a she-cat about their scent. It wasn't unusually for him to state the obvious, so he wondered why he suddenly felt self conscious.
"I mean, just that you can usually smell the prey." His usually unbreakable gaze suddenly decided to visit the ground, where the mouse he mad been eating lay. He suddenly didn't feel quite as hungry. Forcing the last few bites down, he rose to his paws, shaking his fur out slightly.
"I like hunting." He mewed, finally returning his gaze upward, knowing the sun was still high so he had plenty of time before his vigil.
"I mean, it's important for the clan." He nodded slightly, for her to lead, wondering briefly if it today was the most he had talked in the past few days.

SilverTune looked away. "No.. your right. I haven't eaten in three days. Ive given all the prey i get to the elders and kits. The prey is getting very scarce." SilverTune said, her voice suddenly thick with emotion. She sighed. Why was she so emotional around this cat? Normally, she could just hang out with the kits, never have awkward talks about the clans future. She looked at the ground.

Maplepaw was full of beaming smiles after Hawkpaw became Hawkflight moments before. She was especially glad for her clan to gain more warriors as Leaf-Bare loomed closer, as prey would be going deep into their burrows more than ever. Chipped emerald gaze turned to look at the older tom with curiosity. He would go in vigil tonight. Tonight. Did he not understand that? He seemed to simply be starting his night of silence now, scarcely talking to others as he munched some food.

Oh. A tiny grin grew on the fae's features as a shadow-stained warrior padded up to him, attempting to make small talk. Hawkflight seemed to enjoy the company yet still stumbling over his words and being a little bit..off, socially. A cinnamon ear twitched to perk and she heard mentions of Silvertune, if that was her name, barely eating, and an offer for a hunt. Maple shook her head slightly with clicks coming quietly from her mouth.

"Not eating makes you weaker, more prone to sickness as Leaf-Bare approaches. A rumbling belly scares off prey, too." She called over with dry amusement lining the apprentice's words. "Don't forget about my fishing offer too. Prey can come from all places." A small chuckle fell straight from her broad chest while sliding to the earth, laying comfortably against the chilled terrain. "I won't interrupt what you've got going on over there, Hawkflight. Smooth man, I can tell." A childish chuckle ripped from parted jaws as she settled her cranium to rest against alabaster feet.

SilverTune chuckled at MaplePaws comment. "I'll eat later... probably." She smiled at MaplePaw. "Im sure you'll be a warrior soon to, it seems to be contagious." SilverTune said jokingly, in her quiet voice. She smiled at HawkFlight hopefully. " Can she come too? She's one of the nicer cats ive met." Memories of abuse came back to silverTune, freezing her in place for a moment. Just a moment. Until she was all smiles again.
