As Maplepaw pelted him with the grit, Hawkflight stumbled once more, crouching and about the retort to the she-cat when he saw her attention shift. Listening to her call out their clanmate, he was mildly surprised to notice Silvertune hardly react. Personally, he knew he would have something to say if a cat had said such things to him. His gaze fell upon Maplepaw, blinking in curiosity. The apprentice really did speak her mind, something Hawkflight could never quite bring himself to do.

"Maplepaw.." His mew was quiet under her words, his yellow gaze looking at her with a peculiar expression across his face. However before he could say more, Silvertune's exclamation rang across the earth, and his attention changed once more. Looking at the mangled prey, his nose wrinkled at the scent.
"I'll stick to prey that has legs." He mewed, a chill running through his body, setting his teeth to chattering. Now that the sun was casting long shadows across them, being half soaked was a less than favorable option. However he peered into the water, the dark blobs gone in the wake of the activity.
"That, and I'm not sure any fish are left." Twitching his sandy tail, Hawkflight rose to his paws, shaking some of the remaining water from his pelt, looking back to his usual serious self in the wake of everything.
