A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D But wait... What are combo bases?When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal. *Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color! Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group). *Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet. Question: And maybe I just missed something and this is more of a clarification.. x.x But let's say you have a Combo Base x Non-Combo Base , with the combo base being 'special'... There would be no chance of producing an offspring with the 'special' combo base considering it would have to be a certain combination.. however, would the fact that it is a 'special' base boost the chances of the offspring having a 'special' non-combo base? 0 players like this post! If that particular combo base is special - that is, has anything but "common" as rarity - then yep, their offspring could have one of the uncommon or rare bases! It all depends on which combo base it is, and the genetics of the other parent. Generally, the more different genetics they have - different shade, gradient and even color group - the more options a cub has to roll :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Okay, thanks! One more clarification then - Let's say you have a Madagascar (Combo Special) x Sunset (Breed Special) This would still give the boosted chance of getting an offspring with Sunset, right? Even if Madagascar can't actually be passed? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Remember that Pulsar needs Arctic base - which, as far as I know, wasn't a very popular one before Pulsar was a thing, and whose applicator is obtained during December. At least Temporal is made up from an applicator base that belongs to its month of popping up as a combo and the other two bases needed are fairly popular. 0 players like this post! Like? |

True, true. But then again, Pulsar didn't necessarily require two Special parents; you had the option for Special (Arctic) x Rare (Anjeer or Prune, which are decently popular.)
