Are you more into mane shapes? Then the Mane Genetics Thread is here for you ![]() Want to check out a particular combo quickly? Use ctrl + f and type its name, or use the "search on site" option if you are using a cellphone :)Wiki entry about Combo Bases This began as a way to share theories about possible combinations, but then things got way bigger than expected. A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D But wait... What are combo bases? When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal. *Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color! Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group). *Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet. Standard combos:

Cameo isn’t a combo base, it’s just regular genetics ;) Cameo is cream medium - nacre provides the cream, maltese provides the medium. So cameo is just one of many potential outcomes :) ![]() |

The Wiki on genetics really explains all that well. If you haven't checked it out it's http://liodenwiki.wikidot.com/genetics And hey. Love that new base Elysian. Now I can't decide whether Soul or that one is my current favorite. :) ![]() |

No, we already know the bases that make Black Rose and Ebony isn’t one of them. ![]() |

Has it been confirmed that bases like Slate, Celestial, Flint, Ebony, etc aren't one of the possible bases for Cloudburst? Or are they still being tested? Apologies if this has already been asked. Edit: Just found a CB from an Opal x Korat breeding https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?mid=40843 ![]() Edited on 01/05/19 @ 12:10:21 by Ro (#800) |

@Ro Opal is an applicator base, so Opal was probably applied after she produced the Cloudburst cub. The best way to find out would be to do some scrying and see if Opal does produce a Cloudburst. ![]() |

How many rounds of scrying before I call it quits? I've done a few hundred but dont get cloudburst even with known combos. ![]() |

Does the scry work in the dry season for Cloudburst? I don't know. I mass breed for Cloudburst on my main account, and I'd say Cloudburst happens for maybe every 15-20 lionesses bred. That's a really rough estimate. I'm not sure what percentage of cubs result in Cloudburst, I'm not that obsessive, unfortunately, but it does seem like I get 1-2 Cloudbursts for every 40 lionesses bred. I think the most I've had was 4 from a group of about 70 lionesses. Last wet season I got all of one Cloudburst out of about 50 lionesses bred, but a friend of mine got 2 Cloudbursts and bred only about 3 lionesses. So, rng. It's a common base, but like Nadir, it's not common at all. I also believe the first day of the wet season is bugged for Cloudburst breeding, but it seems like my bug report has been deleted. ![]() |

As far as I know, the Scrying Stone should work as if the breeding happened with the conditions you test it with - so it shouldn't show Cloudburst cubs during Dry Season. Furthermore, Cloudburst needs to have an Albino parent, so my guess is that the Opal parent was base changed, and was previously Albino. I apologize for the late reply, my activity has been a bit spotty lately. ![]() |

Er very Newbish question but for the ones who have a third factor is that like you breed first or second then after a third after? Or is it like any of the three can be bred together to get the Combo?? ![]() |

@Moon Do you mean like Trophy and Rose Gold? You need to breed only two of the three bases together to get the Combo base. :) ![]() |

A suggestion for this page (that is awesome and has been immensely helpful) you should consider putting a shot of a lion with the combo base so new comers can see what each looks likes at a glance. ![]() |
