The basics of this suggestion - new players often don't know a lot about the game. It's reasonable. To be fair, some older players don't either, because of how much it's changed, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm proposing a 'account age limit' for posting in certain forums, namely for posting guides and suggestions (mainly the latter - some people pick up the game very quickly and can help others out with guides).

Don't get me wrong; I have no issues with new players. We were all new once and it takes time to get used to such a large game, but you shouldn't be able to post suggestions or guides until your account is at least a few months old, because by then, you'll probably know about all of the game's features (so you won't suggest features that are already in the game), you'll have heard what suggestions just AREN'T being added, and you won't unintentionally spread misinformation in a guide.

I feel like a lot of suggestions are made by newbies with the intent of making the game easier . . for newbies. Making base breeding easier, stuff like that. Older players often have worked hard to get what they have, and effort should equal reward.

Now, I'm not going to suggest anything crazy like a year, but at least two or three months. You can still read, comment on, and support/no support suggestions and guides, but you can't make them yourself.

Another suggestion (page two of the comments, by Yakyuu) was that it could be a number of rollovers instead of an actual time - because you could make an account, never log in again, and come back a few months later and be able to post suggestions and guides despite actually logging in and rolling over once or twice.

Another suggestion, by River [Lights Off] (#6903), is that if we go with the number of rollovers suggestion, it resets if you've not logged in for a certain amount of time (because when you come back from a hiatus, it takes you time to relearn the game, especially if there's a ton of new stuff).

This suggestion has 177 supports and 27 NO supports.

Support.

It's super annoying to have continuous false information or suggestions that will never happen. I.e. green bases, chased submales as king, etc. And then there is some guides that say you can easily make 1kSB daily if you understand the economics of LD which is impossible. You need a good stud first, hunt a lot, etc.

I totally agree. I've seen lots of suggestions made by new players for features that were either planned for the future or not going to happen, and it gets a little annoying seeing the same suggestions constantly popping up.

Support! I sometimes see newbies give advice to newer newbies false information and it annoys me how somebody has to correct them so other newbies don't slip up in the game, don't get me wrong, I appreciate newbies trying to help others but they should be certain it's correct information before they go and tell other people false information ^^;;

Thank y'all so much for your comments! Even as an older player, I still use guides sometimes, and I really don't want to get false information because a new player was mistaken about something.

I support for the suggestions, but not so much for the guides. I got really good, really quick, and posted a newbie-targeted guide because I knew the biggest newbie questions. I checked and-double checked my information, and ended up helping a couple of new(er) players. I haven't even been playing four months yet (Four month anniversary in three days- yay!) And have already spent two months as a stat breeder (I got out of the game because of a run of bad luck) and got a Lethal, a Pon, and bred several primal babies. My side king in nearly fully customized and a primal - I learned my way around. But suggestions still baffle me even now, so I support for the limit on suggestions- not on guides.

I thought this was already implemented? Accounts have to be something like 2 months old before they can post in suggestion forums etc

@Eden

Yes, some guides are useful but most new players don't know their way around yet. You are just extremely lucky to get all of those things. I've personally seen a lot of guides that have misinformation. I can link some guides that do not have correct information either.

@Crux
If that's already a thing, I had no idea and I have no way of testing it. But even if it is, maybe the limit should be raised; I see too many suggestions that seem like the poster joined two days ago.

@Eden
You're extremely lucky, then! It's cool that you have the know-how to make useful and correct guides, but you seem to be an exception to the rule, in this case. Plenty of people with accounts as old as yours have no idea what's going on in the game, even after a couple months, and shouldn't be making guides that could have misinformation.

Just like to note that it's not only newbies spreading false information. False information is often spread by older and veteran players. Some of the popular guides which include false info are made by veteran players and not by newbies. So newbies shouldn't take all the blame for the misinformation. Even with your suggestion (which I support), misinformation will still be spread and people will not read the posts which say which suggestions will not be accepted. There is a universal problem on Lioden and beyond of people refusing to read rules, FAQ's etc before saying/doing things. This is a problem that extends past just new or old players.

@Etch
You're not wrong, and it's sad, but hopefully if this is added (or increased I guess) it'll help a little with the problem. I was considering suggesting a kind of quiz you have to do before you can post a suggestion or a guide, but that would be difficult to implement.

Ok @Crux again
I got a friend to test whether it was already a thing - she made her side account this month, so it's less than a month old, and she had no problem posting a tester suggestion for me. She deleted it, because it wasn't a real suggestion, but I got screenshots of the suggestion she made, and then of her side account's information, if you'd like to see.

As a 4 digit ID and LD veteran (Playing 4+ years)-

Yes. I've worked very hard to get to where I am, and it is quite irritating to see the false information and the same suggestions appear to just get rejected over and over. I honestly have no damn clue why "older" players would spread false info tho tbh, we were newbies once and it was harder for us because there was a lot less people around >>
