I'm loving all these ideas so far, but I think Blue Pigeon is right and it would be best to do events that don't revolve around holidays that are specific to specific areas or groups. I think hosting a little raffle or mini game is probably fine, but we probably shouldn't base whole months around holidays like St. Patrick's or the 4th of July.

Staying more inline with the LD events is a good idea in my opinion, but I also agree with Etch there's no need for them to be directly connected. Like July shouldn't be based around the 4th, but it doesn't need Apedmak or Apollyon there either, perhaps it could be related to something else entirely with the falling stars or fireflies.

Maybe something like a gigantic winner takes all food raffle? Like if 20 clan members even donate 10 items of food each, that's a ridiculous amount of food.

Secret Santa could be based on what people would like based on a wishlist that somebody has on their account.

Saint Patricks Day could be about getting something green...

The rest of the events like Thanks Giving or New Years Eve should be about spending time with family.

These are the ideas that I had so far:


July - (4th of July) we can "set off" fireworks in other people's dens, and they can either end at the interactive stage (messaging a person "this lion has crept into your territory and set off a large firework that set fire to a tree on the border of your territory!" or "this lion has crept into your territory and set off a large firework that burst in the air in a great show of sparks! Huh....it kind of looked like it had the face of a (animal - lion?)") or it can end with some sort of prize (left at the gifter's discretion (for example, "this lion has crept into your territory and set off a large firework that burst in the air in a great show of sparks! Huh....it seems to have left behind a little care package..." - and the gifter can send whatever gift they like)

March/April - (Easter) we can host a kind of scavenger hunt to encourage people to find "eggs" to collect. Sometimes those eggs can be filled with goodies or they can be rotten! The scavenger hunt would consist of some sort of list of questions that the "hunter" would have to search all over Lioden for, and if they return with the correct answers, they get a random egg. (this scavenger hunt would be hosted by the leader(s) of the clan of course, unless otherwise determined)

November - (Thanksgiving) We can collect food items and spread the bounty around with everyone -- maybe make it so that we can donate our food to the hoard, and everyone can take what they need (make sure everyone knows they are only to donate food during this month, nothing else)

December - (Christmas) Secret Santa is a good idea. Get a list of everyone who messages you saying they want to participate, and then pair them up randomly. Maybe make it so that the last time anyone can enter their name into this Secret Santa is a few days before Christmas (or a week or so), and all gifts must be exchanged at least by the end of December.

October - (Halloween) (already have the normal event planned for this )

February - (Valentine's Day) Could do something similar to the Secret Santa? Secret Admirer maybe? Or maybe just do away with it altogether......

March - (Saint Patrick's Day) Maybe everyone has to "dress up" in green this month (or just the day) -- either their King wears something green, or their profile's avatar has to have something green. Proper attire can net a few SB from participants that see it, and if you are in the clan and don't have any green anywhere (CSS on the den does not count), then you get......a rock or something? Not sure what.....

Ok so I've been insanely busy, but I just got on fall break! So for this year, there's not really enough time to do much for November, but we can definitely do something next year.

About December though, I think most people were in agreement about a secret santa type thing. There was mention of an advent calendar type thing, which I can maybe work out but it probably won't be every day of the event. We could also do some sort of design contests like we did with the costume contest since that was really fun.
If you have ideas on things like that to do for December I'd love to hear them.

In terms of the mechanics on how the secret santa will work, I'm thinking I'll get together a list of everyone who wants to participate and randomly match them up. However, I'm already foreseeing a possible problem with some people giving high value gifts and other people not being able to afford similar stuff. If you guys are fine with a possible imbalance we can just do it randomly, it would be nice for players who don't have as much to get some nice gifts. Or we could divide it up somehow into tiers so people get similar value gifts and hopefully no one feels cheated. If you have another idea on how to do that or support a certain side of that it'd be super helpful to hear it.

I'm gonna send a clan message out a bit to remind people to check this thread, and I'll maybe open up some admin positions for the clan :)

Love the idea for secret santa! I personally wouldn't mind the imbalance of gifts just because as you said sometimes its nice to get a little more than you'd usually be able to afford! All the ideas I've read are really great!
