Hello! I decided to make this thread of an annoying issue I’ve been noticing. You ever made your own sales thread and you got someone trying to advertise their stuff on YOUR thread? I’ve seen this happen on sales threads and auction threads and it’s sooo annoying and it's rude! Anyways, I think the owner of the thread should have the right to delete other people’s comments or at least kick people out of your thread! After hearing others opinion to add to this idea there should be certain restrictions to this as well! When you request a comment to be deleted, it submits a ticket to the Modbox, where it can then be quickly scanned over and approved or denied right from the page, rather than the mod having to do a ton of work to get it dealt with the modders can check it out before actually deleting the comments but the comment you requested to be deleted could be invisible (just until the modders check it out and choose to delete it or not) just to avoid people being a troll & a spammer. Please be respectful, If you don’t agree then please feel free to tell me why or how we can improve this idea! Otherwise anymore add on's would be appreciated! EDITS: By: River (#6903) This would also be useful for spam. Mobile users seem to have a lot of issues with posting messages sometimes, and I've had 4+ comments saying the same thing. Perhaps if you could delete your own comment, and the maker of the post can make it invisible? By: Tau [HM|Çß] (#18630) I support so long as it's specifically related to the Sales section and perhaps the Clan section? Otherwise, people will delete/make invisible things willy-nilly and that could cause a problem. For example, someone makes a suggestion and someone doesn't agree for good reasons. The OP can just make it invisible. That's not really right as people should be allowed to state their opinions so long as it isn't abusive or rude. So, as long as it's restricted to certain forums and not just every single topic, I think it's a good idea. Might another idea be having them be able to make them invisible while requesting they be deleted? That way someone can't post...say something really nasty and then delete it if they're reported for such behavior? Both the OP of the thread and the OP of the post itself could make it invisible/request it be deleted? That way, the Mods can glance at it and make sure it's not being deleted to avoid getting into trouble or something similar? By: Razzetti [The Rosette Dealer] (#18166) I think that the post should be hidden, maybe remove the poster ID and everything and have it just say "Pending Approval" or something until a mod can get to it. It would then remove the threat of the post, whatever it may be, and also not be 'mean' to another user. In response to more work- maybe it could just submit a ticket to the Modbox, where it can then be quickly scanned over and approved or denied right from the page, rather than the mod having to do a ton of work to get it dealt with. It may remove more of the work they have to do scrubbing a thread clean when a ticket is submitted for x y or z. (Note: If someone already created a thread about this, I will delete! |

Other people advertising their sales on your topic is against the rules; if someone is doing it, you should use the report function. Staff can delete the off-topic, spam, or begging comments from your thread if you ask them as well (I've had them have to do this when my topics end up veering way off course/get uncivil). I can see this causing problems with moderation, unless the message is saved but invisible though. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Report function~? That is something I did not know you could do nor thought of! But yeah that would be a good idea! You can remove their comments but moderators can see them. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 18/04/18 @ 16:40:15 by 🌸 Dawnstar🌸 (#106814) |

I can understand the benefit, but there is too much chance for someone to manipulate the system in terms of scamming players. Like raffles, for example - being able to delete posted evidence of reasons for item exchanges, and so forth - and the same with art commission threads and the likes. Auction threads, as well, to remove bid posts, etc. To me, it just poses too much risk for being used in the wrong way by the wrong person for the wrong reasons. Perhaps if you were able to click a button to apply for the post to be removed and state a reason why, which is then sent off for a moderator to review - to shorten the effort of writing a ticket, then sure.. But I think a player having the power to erase any posts they like off their threads can go wrong in too many ways. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Tau Ahh I see, I agree! Certain restrictions, of course, that would be a bother if someone kept deleting your comments over something dumb. But yeah! That would be nice to request a comment to be deleted and the mods can check it out before actually deleting the comments, almost like when you request a thread to be deleted! 0 players like this post! @CALA I see your point, but maybe like what @Tau said there can be certain restrictions. For example, if the owner of the thread do request a comment to be deleted it can go invisible just until the mods choose whether to delete it or not. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I would like to be able to delete others posts on my threads, because I do have an art thread and like.. since the beginning things have changed, and like, so has my style, I don't want it to be like... a thread filled with outdated information in the comment area. 0 players like this post! Like? |
