17th October, 2019: I am leaving these existing links up, however I am going to start working through some results in this thread (more recent to be honest, because a lot of lions are repped or dead now) and compiling them all into one spreadsheet and then categorized spreadsheets after that. Please keep posting results in the meantime :D <3

Attempts to crack the code for either of the new rosette markings. Feel free to collaborate and offer suggestions/scrying results :D

The only similarity between all 3 sets of parents is now the presence of mottled rosette.

2 of the mothers had marbled unders of some sort, 1 had cockled unders.

Getting my first successful scries for rosettes (checking my girls today). All of these are with my king (4297).

This girl has scried both heavy rosette (ginger) (missed the screenshot) and soft rosette (dark brown):
Slot 4: Dark Brown Soft Rosette (96%)

This girl scried a red heavy rosette.

Personally I suspect that rosettes aren't related to markings at all unless staff has confirmed they are - I think they're a hidden genetic element we can't see - but always happy to help with theories.

All of them are with my king - who also threw an inverted while I was scrying.

Right, I'm back for more magic :'D

Would love to see the sire, also, Lithium :) Thanks for sharing your results! Perhaps could be a hidden thing, but going by Xylax's post I'm going to assume markings, since he said he took inspiration from user suggestions surrounding existing rosette passing theories.

As an added note; both those girls also have mane marks. So far every new rosette born AND scryed has had a parent with a mane mark. Probably coincidence, but worth noting? ^^;

I should note though - my king's father DID have mottled rosette? So maybe that has something to do with it, and makes him still a carrier of a rosette gene.

Yeah, I was wondering if it might be a carried genetic. That would be awesome.

I wonder if this is the theory the new rosette pass is based off of. It makes a fair amount of sense, Xylax himself commented on it in the past (according to the OP), and it's the only user made theory I can find that presents something other than requiring certain markings.
