Interstellar was frustrating enough and then Solaris was next to impossible to get, even with the chances bumped up. I vote we never have any applicators like this ever again. If staff wants a base to be rare, just make a raffle and call it a day. Making applicators as rare as Solaris creates a prime environment for resentment and frustration aimed at the staff, not to mention an applicator with 3 existing at a time is sure to be the target of hoarding, which is against game rules. Solaris, imo, should've been a man eater stud. They vary every 24 hours, between Ruffian and common bases, that would've made it fairly accessible to everyone without hoarding ever being an issue. |

Who said we didn't have an issue with how raffle bases are handed out? I've made SEVERAL suggestions on how to curb the likelihood of certain bases and marks being hoarded due to only one being released at a time (in a community of 3000+ players, 1 raffle lioness is really kinda dumb especially considering raffle bases likely wont pass and marks can be just as stubborn). This just isn't the thread for it, doesn't mean I've never brought it up. And yes, it's the rarity + the shit rewards. A person COULD hoard a lion, sure, but they're much more likely to hold onto an applicator since's there's already a predisposition for most players to either breed a special lioness or sell her heats to someone else. Either way, base and marks have a chance to pass. For the Solaris, the 10 remaining applicators are being stored away (which is fine, because we've got 10 studs anyway), meaning nothing can from from them. ![]() |

alright, that makes a lot more sense. in my defense i did say "to my knowledge" in regards to the raffle base thing, just because i've never seen it. then again, i'm only active for three months out of the year lmao. i brought it up here because i figured it was slightly relevant along the lines of rare bases released under exclusive terms, prone to troubles being spread through the community. my bad! i'm still somewhat on the fence. not about the ridiculous rewards, because i agree making the encounter rare and the desired reward even more so is a pretty rough slap to the face, but the whole no more rare world drops thing. i admit i probably haven't been subject to all of the many frustrations y'all have gone through in regards to int or sol, but theoretically? i like the idea of a rare, world drop base app. i'd far prefer it to be not related to an event and definitely not as frustrating as sol, but something like int but year round? theoretically, you wouldn't have such a limited supply prone to monopolizing. EDIT: rephrasing for clarity ![]() Edited on 03/09/18 @ 18:21:03 by Shaska | SF | (#10784) |

Rare drops are fine. Int is fine. Solaris though, that shit isn't okay. I'd be all for a Interstellar (maybe even a little rarer. An Average between Int and Solaris, which turns out to be about 150 instances of the drop in the game) level drop, but Solaris? It's like Staff doesn't know what balance is. Kimanjano, DUs, event bar goals; when they nerf something they WAY overdue it and it fucks the player base over majorly. And a reason for that is many of them dont actually PLAY the game. They just introduce things and test it. Xylax once said DUs are supposed to be as valuable as a leopon, then there's this layout they still haven't fixed (WHY would you make fertility revealing so inconvenient?) so there's a clear disconnect from the player-base that needs to be addressed. Solaris is just one more example of that. And it's not like they don't see the problem. They do, they just have no desire to fix it. ![]() Edited on 03/09/18 @ 19:22:27 by King Jackass {Clean Solaris} (#103364) |

hard agree with all of that. a drop between int and sol would be fantastic, int was just a little too common right off the bat. but yeah, the DU/event goal fuckery/kim nerf (was that ever explained???? wasn't it already super hard to pass without a leopon parent?? hello, god?? are you there???) was ridiculous, preach brother ![]() |

And then they never explain why they do it. Like they're on some kind of power trip and don't have to explain WHY they're screwing over the people they're screwing over. If Kim got nerfed, Mandarin will probably suffer a nerf too, and since it's medium color god have mercy for passing it. But I digress. ![]() |

I was going to stay out of this, but I simply find it a bit rude how you explained all of this? The mods do a lot for the community, sure you may not agree with it all but it is all done for a reason. I'm not asking you to agree with all of their decisions, but I do find that you are being a little overly-aggressive about the situation. Feel free to make your suggestions and all, but can we keep it peaceful? No need to talk rudely about the mods just because they're doing their job. Now I'll stay out of it, aha. ![]() |

I'm allowed to criticize the moderation I am subject too, and if I view it as negative and it affects me negatively, I will say so and I don't have to be nice about it. If you think this is over aggressive, you've been on Lioden a little too long. Bad words for bad work. ![]() |

I do agree, this is a little harsh. The mods put all their time and effort into this. But I get your concerns. ![]() |

Was going to support but I agree with the posts above me; no need to be rude about it. Both to staff and other players. No support. ![]() |

Nobody disrespected any user, staff doesn't get praise when they pull crap like this. Whether you find it rude or not, world drops like Solaris should no longer happen. ![]() |

hey jax do you still need tests run on super specials or is it proven they're still 1-2% ![]() |

I believe Finnegan has that information about that, but yes I believe super specials were 2-3% for lights and darks and 1-2% for mediums. Staff never bumped up super special chances, they just filled in the gaps with normal specials. ![]() |
