Interstellar was frustrating enough and then Solaris was next to impossible to get, even with the chances bumped up. I vote we never have any applicators like this ever again. If staff wants a base to be rare, just make a raffle and call it a day. Making applicators as rare as Solaris creates a prime environment for resentment and frustration aimed at the staff, not to mention an applicator with 3 existing at a time is sure to be the target of hoarding, which is against game rules. Solaris, imo, should've been a man eater stud. They vary every 24 hours, between Ruffian and common bases, that would've made it fairly accessible to everyone without hoarding ever being an issue. |

I don't want to derail the thread but I have to agree with King, you can't always view things through rose-tinted glasses. Like: "Hello devs, you've all been doing a great job! (also quite a bit of your recent changes has been an inconvenience to a great number of players :) )" So...things haven't been that great, right? Not everything deserves praise, especially what they pulled with solaris. (and unrelatedly, moving the reveal fertility button. Who told them that was a good idea? Do they play the game?) If the site were to make a public poll asking the players if they enjoyed the mysterious stranger, I think more people would say no. It was unfun, you didn't feel like you even had a chance, and if you found him through some divine intervention you're more likely to get a completely worthless prize, making the whole ordeal you went through completely pointless because good luck running into him twice in such a short span of time. I honestly couldn't care less if I got solaris, I don't like the base, but I would've loved to get a different worthwhile prize if one was even available. A crunchy worm, zebra heart, great tit, literally anything of more worth than what was given. Also if you're supporting an idea it's well...the idea, not the person behind the idea. I've supported lots of ideas, even if I didn't agree with how it was presented. You can't really not support an idea by one person but support it from someone else who purposes the exact same thing. Support. I get the staff tried, but it's like they took what happened with Interstellar with a grain of salt and purposely made Solaris the most aggravating drop as possible with the chance of getting absolute shit from the Mysterious Stranger. Why would anybody think any player would like that at all? If that's the way it's going to be, I'd rather they either made it a little more balanced or didn't bother at all.
