 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Wairua entered the cave, carrying a fresh gazelle carcass for the cubs. Spotting Trayon, she dropped the carcass at the entrance and bounded over to him. “Welcome back!” she said. Before she could speak to him, Rust padded towards her, her tail waving excitedly. “He said he wants to adopt me!” she said. Wairua raised one eyebrow, guessing that the cub wasn’t telling the whole truth. Rust sighed. “...And Glow and Dahlia,” she mumbled. Wairua laughed. “I’ll go find her. Why don’t you wait here with Dahlia?” she said, spotting the golden adolescent heading over. The broodmother set off to find Glow. As usual, she was in her favorite hiding spot, behind a boulder at the back of the cave. “Don’t worry, little one. I know this king. He’s nice.” The cub hesitated for a moment, then nodded. Wairua carried her back to where the two others were waiting with Trayon. “Good luck, young ones,” she said, addressing all three cubs. “Be good.” Rust quickly darted over to where her sister Mars was playing, giving her a quick nuzzle goodbye before leaving with the others. 0 players like this post! @Incanui Oxyura turned from where she was sorting food piles and herbs to watch the sub male from a distance curiously. Finally, out of impatience, curiosity, and amity, she approached him. "Hi there! Welcome to Mtoaji Shelter," Oxyura beamed. "I've, er, noticed you watching the cubs for a while. Cute, aren't they? Are there any you're interested in adopting?" @BlueFox Trayon It was nice to see Wairua again. I haven't noticed this before, but she's great at handling cubs. I wouldn't guess that Rust was lying, and for certain I wouldn't be able to convince Glow that fast. I turned to welcome adol I haven't meet before, but she didn't seemd surprised at all. Could it be that Sunny and Bluebell along with her had this all planned..? “Good luck, young ones, be good.” - I started to wonder how many cubs Wairua adopted away. These words seemd to be sort of a custom for her. I saw Rust rushing to say goodbye to a liones her age, similar to her. One thought came to my mind, but I tried to push it away. I may end up adopting every single lion from this shelter if I won't stop here. "Was this your sister? Aren't you sad leaving her behind?" - I've asked anyway when she came back. After all, I wouldn't feel good splitting up a family... (Up to you, I wouldn't mind taking one more, I was considering Mars before and they do look like twins so it could be nice ^^ ) @tigerdawn Drakker I've jumped, scared by sudden voice next to me. "Ahh, I'm sorry. I don't often have time to watch cubs in my pride, as I'm responsible for patrols, and lil ones here are just too cute" - I feel like blushing, I shouldn't make a fool of myself now. - "Please excuse me my awkardness, I'm kinda stressed to make good impression, and it turns out the other way." - Oxyura seemd to stare at me with pity, so I decided to not go any further. "I was thinking about adopting young cub at first, but this graceful adol seems like a nice lioness" - I pointed at Antelope, not sure what else to say. - "Do you think it would be okay for her to go with me?" 0 players like this post! Rust hesitated. On one hand, she she wanted to prove that she could be brave and tough. But on the other... she and her sister had been through so much together. They had originally been part of a litter of three, but their brother died soon after he was born. And their mother had been sick when they were sent to the shelter, so Rust didn’t know if she would ever see her again. “Yeah... maybe we should go back and get her,” she said, finally making up her mind. They weren’t far from the shelter yet, and it only took them a few minutes to get back. Mars was sitting in the entrance looking sad when they returned, but she perked up immediately at the sight of her sister. Wairua was standing just behind her, a faint smile on her face. “I was wondering if you would come back,” she said. She nudged Mars forward, and the cub followed her sister out of the den, grinning. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oxyura chuckled understandingly, "Let's ask her, shall we?" She called over Antelope, who immediately bounded up and rubber her fur against her broodmother's in greeting. The young adolescent nodded her head shyly at the lion. "This lion is here to adopt you, would you like to join his pride?" Oxyura explained gently. "Really?!" Antelope perked up in excitement. "I'd love to!" She purred, slinking off to stand beside the older lion in wonder. Oxyura smiled, "There would be your answer. May the stars light your journey." @BlueFox Trayon “I was wondering if you would come back” - Wairua wasn't even surprised to see me. I guess it was easy to predict, if I came back only to pick up friends before why would I leave a sister behind. Mars didn't even looked at me, she was so focused on her sister. "I hope that's all for now, I'm not sure if I'd manage more cubs. Thank you for them. Goodbye!" - I smiled to Wairua and rushed after cubs. @tigerdawn "Ah, nice to meet you!" - I murmured to adol. I wasn't prepared it would be that easy. She seems to be even more excited than I am. "Thank you, and goodbye" - I lowered my head to show Oxyura gratitude, and walked away with new pride member.
