 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Have any caught your eye?" @Lokidottir Oxyura nodded warmly, "Of course!" She called Plum over, who greeted the lioness in awe and surprise. "Are you really adopting me?" He asked Genji. Oxyura purred, chuckling under her breath, "Who wouldn't want to adopt you?" Mtoaji Kiro sat by the entrance the den, her interest in the cubs obvious as she watched them play. One in particular caught her interest, and after a short time of listening in she decided to make herself known. She padded up to one of the lionesses she assumed to be a broodmother. "Hello! Vodrath approached Shelter Itanya. She edged her way anxiously towards Broodmother Amina. "Um. Greetings. I am a messenger from my king, Mzuka. He sent me to bring one of these cubs to a new home in our pride. However, he didn't specify which one." She said quietly. "Any adolescents or cubs will be under the care of our broodmother Ursa, who is currently only caring for two cubs. If I may, I would like to take Patch back to my pride, if she has not been reserved." She said, approaching the adolescent. She noticed Patch's cold, cruel gaze sweeping the landscape before it locked on her. Vodrath stepped back- not outright afraid, but tense and uneasy. @ghoulboy the female smiled as a lioness approched her and joined in her gaze to patch. The young lioness came up to her and softly growled, though she looked up at her. "are you here to adopt me?" she asked, and then gazed at the brood mother who nodded "well, i hope you have better denmates then *this* lot." she said with a roll of her eyes. "well, lets get going." A large Elysian lioness approached Itanya shelter, a returning ‘customer’. She slipped in through the cave entrance, casting a sideward glance at the two lionesses talking, with another adolescent seemingly getting adopted right then. “Hello, if you two are done here, I was wondering if that one is available?” She said in a rushed and rude tone to the broodmother, her tail flicking in the direction of a younger adolescent which was a darker brown with white spots. @honey Rhodonessa purred, "My, my, you have a good eye! Those are all splendid cubs, I'll call them over!" The cohort of cubs tumbled over after bidding goodbye to their fellow cubs, already knowing what was happening since they had watched so many of their pridemates been adopted. Rhodonessa nudged them each once, introducing them to the other lion before sending them on their way to their new home! (enjoy ;) @Aranza Lune smiled, evidently pleased, "I'd love to. I'll just quickly let my broodmother know!" She turned, bounding into the cave to talk to an older lioness, who followed her back out. Oxyura beamed, "Lune will do wonderfully in your pride, I'm glad she could finally be adopted." She nuzzled the patiently waiting adolescent farewell before nodding a goodbye to the adopting lioness.
