 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

Hearing her name, Eclipse darted over to the two lions. She looked up hopefully at Khatiba. The broodmother nodded. “Yes, I’m sure she’ll do well in your pride,” she purred. Vikela narrowed her eyes. This king was unfamiliar, although he seemed friendly. She glanced over to Dream. The adolescent, while still young, could certainly take care of herself. the broodmothers at the Mtoaji shelter are approached by 2 big males. a golden King with big red rosettes, and his nephew, a beautiful solid black lion. "one of your cubs, Sky, has been coming over to play a lot lately. we think she might be sneaking over" they chuckled. "there are so many of our cubs that love her. she told us she was an orphan, so we followed her back here to see if it was true." they offer to give Sky a home. Rhodoxyura chuckled amusedly, "Indeed, it seems like Sky has been wandering out of our sights sometimes. I believe that she has already found a lovely home in your prides already, I am sure that she would be great there." She turned around to grab the mischievous cub by the scruff, who had wandered nearby and was eavesdropping curiously and increasingly eagerly. Rhodoxyura scolded Sky gently for her nosiness before purring and nuzzling her a farewell. *UPDATE* little Sky is now a teenager. she is having the time of her life going on hunts with the big girls. her and her fellow teen girls are growing up together and will make a formidable hunting pack. many of the veteran hunters in the pride give the young girls hunting tips on how to kill swiftly with little suffering to the prey. 0 players like this post! Firebird walked up to the cave, and after looking in at the beautiful sight of all the young cubs playing together, stepped in. He gently tried to pull off the young cub who was holding onto his leg. More cubs came up to him and he gave a friendly growl to each of them. A bold young male pulled at his mane, and he gently cuffed him with his paw. The two of them had a play fight together, before Firebird got up and regained his composure. Seeing a lioness at the back of the cave, he called out. "Hello. For the second time, Aquila had been given permission to seek out a cub to adopt. She still grieved the loss of her own daughter, Canis, but her heart had much love to give to another who needed it. "Hello," she greeted Vikela, eyes softening as she watched the cubs play. The golden lioness walked over to a group and greeted them cheerfully. She laid down and began to play with them, and while many were eager and boisterous, one cub hung back. "What's your name?" she asked the cub, who seemed distrustful but eventually answered. "I'm looking to adopt an adolescent named Bones. StalkStar pionts his paw in the direction of a black lioness with white glowing spots along her back. ~Flashing her a friendly silme, before turning his attention back to Amina~ I met Bones during one of my explorations, and I was hoping I could adopt her. I am confident she'd be a great addition to my Family. I'd be more than happy to give her a forever home in Silver Pride!"
