 This thread is part of the Ilanga’s Adoptions clan, although anyone can adopt cubs here. Please check it out, we’d love to have some new members! You are still welcome to request cubs, but keep an eye out for future changes! Welcome! This is one of Lioden’s longest-existing cub adoption threads, created in October 2018. It has since expanded into multiple shelters and a clan. It’s named after the owner’s first broodmother, Ilanga. All of the cubs here are free for the taking, as long as they are marked as “Adoptable”. All you have to do is write a quick roleplay, even if it’s just a couple sentences long. Once you’ve read the rules, you can speak to one of the broodmothers at the adoption center and let them know which cub(s) you would like! Rules -Please DO NOT kill/tree/sell a cub you get from us! They are looking for permanent homes. -You can adopt as many cubs as you like! Just make sure that you can actually care for all of them. -To make things easier for us, please specify the name of the shelter or broodmother you are adopting from in your roleplay. -You don’t need to include a link to the cub, just their name. -We generally have a first-come, first-serve policy, but if someone puts more effort into their roleplay or message, we might choose them instead. -Please do not argue with the decision of a shelter owner. However, if you have a problem (such as a cub not arriving, or receiving the wrong cub), don’t be afraid to reach out to us! -If you break the rules, we may prevent you from adopting a cub here in the future. -We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Born during the poaching season, Vikela lost many of her family and friends to vicious attacks when she was just a cub. She witnessed firsthand the deaths of countless cubs, and made it her mission to protect as many as she could in the future. She trained as a warrior alongside the pride’s other guards before becoming a broodmother, and as a result, she can seem quite tough and intimidating at first sight, especially to outsiders, who she distrusts. However, despite being a bit overprotective at times, she is popular among her pride and a hero to the cubs she raises. Once you’ve gained her trust, she will be loyal until her last breath.
Despite being an elderly lioness, blind in one eye and beginning to lose her hearing, Khatiba is as sharp as ever. She may not be as fast as she used to be, but she keeps a watchful eye on the playing cubs from her resting spot. When they grow tired of running and wrestling, they gather around her to hear one of her stories. She loves to tell the cubs about legends passed down through the generations, of vicious battles and ancient gods. She is gentle and kind, balancing out Vikela’s fiery energy. You may have met her daughter Kuhle at the clan’s stockpile.
Amina is a very trustworthy lioness. She would die before she saw any of the cubs she protected be harmed. Her goal in life is to find a good home for each and every cub she can. She is confident, kind, and most important to her, gentle. If any cub gets hurt in her presence she will be sure to rush to it and care for it to the best of her ability. Though she may get suspicious of some lions, she does her best to trust every lion and lioness she comes across.

A broad grin spread across Aquila's face and she dipped her head respectfully. "She shall be safe with me," she responded and trotted back over to the cub. She spoke gently, explaining the situation. Fighter still looked hesitant. She murmured soft goodbyes to her friends, and for a second Aquila felt like the worst lioness in the world. But the cub would have a family, and there would be new friends to come. As soon as Fighter was ready, Aquila gave her a quick, affectionate lick on the head and led the little cub away. StalkStar gives a small chuckle, "Im happy your as eager as me to get back to the Pride, come on". StalkStar gently directs Bones, "everyones waiting to see you, I've told many great things about you". Bones says her farwells. The two began to leave, but right before heading out. StalkStar turns back, with a simile on his face and mummers a quiet thank you. With not a second to waste, StalkStar happily prances away with Bones joyfully following close behide. After chatting with her for a bit, he turns to Vikela and Khatiba- (Said in a stern, calm manner) "I would like to request to adopt Copper. Maamuzi, with Nyeusi traling behind, approaches the cave, dipping his head to the broodmother, Africa, with a respectful nod. "Nyeusi, mpenzi, do any of these cu-" The black lioness cuts him off, looking to two young lionesses and an adolescent male. "These three." She flicks her scarred ear to the three adolescent lions, cocking her head thoughtfully. "I am Nyeusi, the Vaani of the deprived- do not be off put by these," She gestures the the many scars littering her pelt. "My domain is to protect lions like you three. What are your names?" The vaani asked, sitting and crossing her large paws. Maamuzi approaches cautiously behind her, hoping the strange mist from his eyes and mouth don't cause the cubs to panic. The male, the youngest of the three, stands and speaks, tail flicking excitedly. "I'm Waterdrop- this is Corie," He gestures with a paw to the purple lioness who flashes Nyeusi a fanged grin that makes the vaani laugh. "And this is-" The ruddy red lioness cuts him off, black eyes flicking to Maamuzi with a judgemental glare to them. "Addelien." She finished, scrapping the earth with a claw, voice cold... but not completely unfriendly... she just seems cautious. Waterdop chuckles nervously, kicking the lioness with his foot as to say "hush". "Uh- who, who are you?" He asks the older, grey male. Maamuzi smiles softly. "I am Maamuzi, the vaani of balance and choice. I am the head of Wahasibu- that temple over the cliffs to the north." King pink stood in his den looking over his pride he seen Little One standing in the corner secluded from the others. Pink decided to approach the young lioness to ask her what’s wrong. “Hello Little One you seem to be down what’s wrong?” “Pink i want cubs.” “Little One you will be one of Zoids Queens so I myself can not sire you r first littler.” Pink gently responded to the distressed lioness. Little one only nodded in response . “But there is one thing I can do for you.” “What is it M’Lord?” “There is a place not far from here it lets prides adopt cubs that are homeless. I shall take you with me and we shall we if there are any cubs that you like.” Wen the two lions arrived pink greeted one of the lioness that seep ever to be in charge. “Hello I am King Pink and the lioness that is here with me is Little One.” “Hello King Pink, i am Vikela are you here to adopt a cub?” The lioness responded. “Yes. Little One wants cubs but she is to be Zoid-the next king’s Queen so I myself can not sire her first litter.” As pink and vikela are speaking Little One starts to look at the cubs and one caches her eyes. She walks over to the adolescent and politely ask her name after stating her own. “My name is spider, I like to play and sleep in the sun. What do you like?” “Well I like cubs and hunting and M’Lord pink.” After getting to know each other little one made up her mind spider is the one she wants and approached pink about it. “M’Lord I found the one I want to take with us!” “That’s splendid Little One what’s her name?” “Her name is Spider” she informed pink. For the Nuymbani Shelter ^^ Splash would poke his head into a den, noticing a mutated adolecent. Padding over, he'd tilt his head. "How would you like to join me and my pride?" He asked the adolecent, who nodded. "Really?" Splash nodded, "Of course. I could use a strong male like you to protect my family." The adolecent smiled, :If it's alright with the king here, I'd love to!" Splash smiled softly, "what's your name?" "Everest!" (This is for the Noble shelter) Firebird approached the shelter, gently flicking his tail from side to side, as he gazed in. He stepped down and into the shelter, a soft smile on his face. He saw a pretty adolescent sitting in the mouth of the cave, gazing at the sunrise. Padding over to her, he asked "What is your name?" "My name is Ice. Why, have you come to adopt me?" "I hope so!" Firebird purred. "Our pride will take good care of you." "Oh thank you! Although I don't need taking care of. I can manage myself." "Of course."
