Hi everyone! Quick suggestion here.

I’m proposing that after the administration team has decided to permanently ban a user, after a time period of say, 3-6 months, the entire contents of that account will be wiped.

Not given to the community, Not Given to the Tree, Not Auctioned or Raffled off- WIPED

My reasoning for this is simply server space and economics.
If theoretically, an account is banned that has 300+ Buffalo scrotums (which is reasonable in some cases), those 300+ Buffalo scrotums will show up in the “# of items in game” and can effect the price of the item overall.

For Buffalo scrotums there’s always a surplus, but for items that are incredibly rare, such as Solaris and Interstellar applicators, every single item in game plays into the worth of the item. If items are on a permanently banned account, those items are never going to play a part in the economy again, and should be removed.

This also constitutes server space; the game should not have to hold onto thousands of lions and hundreds of thousands of items on accounts where the players won’t be returning.

TLDR; Wipe permabanned accounts after a period of time so the rest of the site can have more server space and remove dead items, currency, and lions from the economy

If you're gone for over 5 years, the odds of you returning are slim. The odds of you recalling your credentials? Even slimmer. At that point, it really only makes sense to restart. Plus it would reduce server load. Considering the trends on here in terms of joinings and leavings, I wouldn't be surprised if the inactive accounts take up the majority of the server space.

Still, probably not a good idea...

Other game sites don't have that feature, and I think Lioden would have more drama and flamewars if they implemented inactive accounts' wiping.

Almost every other petsite/breeding sim site I have utilized wipes accounts after a certain quantity of time, both to relieve server load and keep the rarity of items accurate. I have yet to see any negative drawbacks on those sites due to that feature.

I'm sorry, I don't support this. It's because I think the items/lions/junk should be given out to the community, like Buffy Scrots to those who need it, Black Stallions to who knows who, you get my drift. Some lions, such as the plain ones, I would wipe, but the pretty ones should be RLC's, heritage wiped, or they could be given out to those who want them.

Some junk, like Umganu's and Uvuma-Omhlope are craftable into apps, and they should be given out equally. Skulls that are in the banned account could be given out too.

@Lionstar

This is gonna sound terrible but I don't think redistributing assets from banned players would be taken very well. Given how much people complain whenever there's stuff in the giving tree, there would be a lot of drama and greed from the community surrounding resources. It would also be kinda... eh morally in my book, like that person is banned yes but they still worked to get everything they had, it's not like they owe it to the community to have it given away. I also feel like if redistribution was a thing, some players would actively try to get others they don't like/players they think don't deserve their stuff permabanned so that can happen and they have a chance to get more out of it

HOWEVER if it were offered as an option to the banned player to give their assets away since they no longer need them, then that would be different. It would be their choice. I still think the community would be ungrateful/jealous and guilt-trippy to whoever ended up with said items, but if there was a system implemented where they were anonymously received that'd at least protect them

I don't like the idea of redistributing those items. I thunk they should be wiped. The amount of players that get banned permanently is vast and it would make almost all items trivially easy to get.

I say this with the most love I can give it, but absolutely everyone on here who says “the items should be redistributed and not deleted” is saying that simply for personal gain. It’s greedy, simple as that. No, you are not entitled to someone’s lions or items just because they were banned. No, you should not be given any handouts when you can get every single item on lioden yourself with a little bit of elbow grease and event playtime. No, you do not “need” Buffalo scrotums and ochre gnawrocks to breed your lions. You do not “need to save” that triple rosette leopon off of the account that’s been banned for six years. They are pixels and luxuries and they should be deleted to save server space for more users and items in the future.

Support, my friend had interstellar remnants and now she's banned - just removed. This should be added ASAP

Support! Plus then greedy people who claim that it should be “redistributed” will potentially shut the fuck up for once lol

Hard agree with @Lex. No one here is entitled to anyone else’s stuff, banned user or not. All the people no-supporting on the grounds that they want whatever banned person’s rare item- yeah, me too. That doesn’t mean I deserve to have it, that it should be given out for free, or that my wanting it supersedes actual concerns like server storage availability and being able to accurately judge item/lion market value.

Quite honestly, redistributing the items is asking for plenty of issues. This will only cause more fighting and more disagreements with who should have the items, how they should be distributed and how it isnt/is fair.

It makes no sense. No other game distributes banned members items and neither should lioden.

Corruptedhyena -
I fully agree with you, HOWEVER, the game Chickensmoothie does have a redistribution system for pets/items belonging to banned players. It's called The Pound/Lost & Found.
