Addendum: I made this years ago and it still gets a little traffic. I don't know how exactly I feel about it anymore, however I think it's still important to leave up and on the table due to how many people care about it. There's still decor that bothers me, like the starving puppy/cub decors but I don't see an easy way for the team to make it so a player hides specific decor but not a bunch of others they don't want to hide. And then deciding what gets included: there's so many individual triggers and fears that it's impossible to really pick them all out. Looking back the amount of work this would take is more that I imagined back then, unless somehow the code for hiding pregnant lions is reusable. I'd still love to hear everyone's thoughts and takes on censoring sensitive art on the site, though, especially if you have actual experience in web development or the work end of things! Just please keep it civil and respect where others are coming from :>

Recently many people, including myself, have been bothered by the maggot decor in the event so I’ve changed the title to be more inclusive. This still applies to lethal art and any other grotesque art

This personally does not bother me, but I can see how it bothers some people. You can be looking through lions and come across a scary lethal, a lion with some scary decor, ect. While this is a 16+ game and certainly not for the faint hearted, some of these mutations and decors can strike certain phobias and are highly disturbing

As such, I think a toggle option to hide these things would be very useful.

The toggle could be located in den options?

This toggle will make it so that players who want to see the mutations are not affected, but those who don't won't have their experience spoiled!

perhaps when going to a lion with these decor/mutations, a pop up can show up saying "this lion has disturbing material. Proceed/Back" and perhaps a link to change the toggle can be included in the pop up.

It is NOT required but if you no support (since there is a lot) explaining your position would be helpful! Perhaps I can edit the suggestion

This suggestion has 283 supports and 155 NO supports.

I am in full support of this!
I don't really mind anything but some people i know are disturbed by most lethals, i don't see how it would harm anyone.

No support simply because who gets to decide what sensitive or disturbing is?

Maybe a list where you can choose which images ypu want to see? But then I'd personally be more likely to support sorta a 'lite' version of the site with no images at all..

This has my full support! A few of the lethals, I don't know the names of them, they really trigger me. Maybe, like the pregnant pose disable feature, we could disable certain ones? Or just have a button that says "disable lethal art" and they just go to looking like normal cubs? That would definitely make it a lot easier for people with weak stomachs / heavy triggers with certain lethals,

As for decor, I'm unsure how those could be censored. Perhaps they could be categorized as 'Gore', which would be blood, dying/dead animals, 'disturbing images' could potentially be satanic symbols for those who wish not to see them. I'm not familiar enough with decors to know what kind of triggers there are,

There should probably be an option where you can select certain decors to hide since otherwise it'd get a little complicated in organizing some of the "soft gore" stuff. Plus it would be customizable that way since some triggers are hyperspecific and might not fall under the other tabs.

Toggles aren't hard to program, we already have toggles for den themes and decor, and I'm always down for accessibility!

I am curious about this. I have not supported, but I haven't not supported either. Do the people who want this feature disable events based on gore, i.e, October and March? Or do they just only want to disable something that does not benefit them economically, and do not disable said events for their economic gain? Critical question.

@Chaotic Goat

Theres a disable feature already in place if you dont want to take part in events, so they would most likely prompt you to use that if youre uncomfortable with an event.

@Toby

I am fully aware of the disabled feature, which is why I mentioned it in my comment.

@Chaotic

The disable feature would be separate from this feature, I assume,

I- I know I'm not good with wording my thoughts but that wasn't my concern. I was wondering about the people who voted support on this tag. Decors and mutation appearances do not offer any economic gain, so it is easier for people to want to disable it. However, let's take a violent event, maybe the October event, where there IS an opportunity for economic gain.

What I'm asking is, do they disable events as well? Or do they still participate in events because of the economic gain?

I'd assume that would be for the individual. Some of the events trigger me, same as some of the lethals. Seeing the harlequin lethal and the cyclopia give me great anxiety so seeing a popup before the page opens stating that there is disturbing/sensitive/triggering art would be enough since the sirenomelia is something I can look at. Though a toggle would make it easier so you aren't fighting through popups while looking at peoples lions.

you would have to personally private message each person who offered their support to this suggestion, as I can only speak for myself.

@Chaotic I can't answer out of a personal level as this suggestion was made because I know some decor and the lethals can upset people. None of it actually triggers me and I wouldn't use the toggle myself.

I imagine some people sit through it for the sweet cash, and some don't. It just depends on the person/ the possible gain.
