Got an idea from a friend, and now I'm expending on it. Instead of JUST doing the Aurora Borealis, I'm doing the southern lights counterpart, the Aurora Australis as well!. Like Sunrise and Sunset So! Introducing...Borealis and Australis! Here is the first, Borealis. With starry speckles.   Here's it without speckles   Then the purple counterpart, Australis! After much reconstruction.   Now with speckles! Choose your favorite! Thank you Havoc 1g RoyOrchid DawnSunrise #128719 for also doing speckles for me! Please give me your feedback! Please keep these photos in mind, these bases are not suppose to be very muted in color. I've diluted them a LOT compared to how they really should be. They are based off these photos, which are very bright in color. Click below to see the images   If you support NO please tell me why! The colors are far too saturated for my liking. They're WAY to bright too and looking at them is giving me a headache worse than colorbombs as it is. the first one isn't too bad, but I would go for something more pastel and soft towards the paws. These also all feel really outside the usual realm of even the "sparkle" bases(very unnatural bases like the gem stones and so on). I'm not sure I really enjoy the concept as a whole. On the other hand, if you don't mind the critique, I might be up for trying to put together a color palette based on the concepts that may work a little nicer.  0 players like this post! Like? |

I understand constructive criticism and take it well in regards to this but it's kind of rude to say it gives you a headache and it's unnecessary to add. A color pallet would be great! The one I used for the green one was great but I do need to tone it down on the paws. I've been working on both versions daily. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The headache thing is actually a sensitivity issue with my eyes. It's a legitimate problem some people have(hence why the "night" theme was a popular demand for example, and even it is too bright for my eyes). I apologize if that part came off rude ^^; Also, it might have been an issue with the screen I was viewing it on originally, as now that I'm looking at it on my laptop, they don't seem bad at all. I also had a look at the bases in the game again, and I take back what I said about it being a little far outside the realm of current bases. It's not that bad and the concept could fit nicely with say the July event(since it has items and backgrounds dealing with auroras and other celestial events). I've been scrolling through the replies now, and looking at your WIPs and edits they're looking nice ^^ 0 players like this post! Like? |

^I can attest to this statement as I have similar problems, bright or highly concentrated colors give me headaches as well,which I suppose could be a reason why LD has yet to put in terribly bright bright bases ;v; Since there are likely many LD players who would have problems with em physically as well as markings being non-compatible 0 players like this post! Not perfect, but perhaps as a contrast to the bright colors? Larger version, albeit blurry because my screenshot tool is acting up Definitely too dark for what you're going for, but I think if you mix the brighter more saturated colors you're already using with some dark less saturated ones you could get something really nice. To me, I think of auroras and the brighter colors stand out best when they are against the darker blues and purples of the nigh sky. 0 players like this post! Havoc, I can definitely see why some people might think the colors would not match up with existing marking colors, but I was playing around with a slightly different color scheme (more or less the same; purples, greens, blues, some yellow, ever so slightly more pastel) and threw this together with some official markings (white lace, sunset feralis, noctis feline 1, and celestial speckles) and it honestly doesn't look bad to me. They are definitely workable if blended right. P.s. That mock up there was not necessarily a suggestion. @blackthorn oh those are nice!! I like em :'0 they still stick to the theme without going too terribly dark for what they represent! @kayla, i only no supported because the bases hurt my eyes and I thought there would be problems with marking adaptation. Even tried to give constructive criticism.. I actually quite enjoy unnatural bases :/ 0 players like this post! Like? |

May I suggest for the Australis more pale purples and yellows together? Maybe also tone down the green a bit and have the colors more centered to the mid section of the lion? Just to tone it down a bit so it doesnβt look more like a plain rainbow base with such vibrancy 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah of course! These are all great suggestions. Let me go back and play around with it for a bit and see what comes out a bit better.
