Le OOC thread - Link ---------- Dragons have always been a part of Alagaesia's history, longer than any man could remember. The Riders and their dragons once ruled over Alagaesia, protecting and serving its people. Now, however, the Riders have long since fallen - despite the absence of Riders, dragons still flourish. Feral dragons roam the skies, the ground, the sea - while revered, to anger a dragon meant death. Some respected these creatures, while others hated them. With the rise of the new King, the Riders became a negative part of their history - while the Fall was shrouded in mystery, the King wielded it for his benefit, turning the public against the Riders of Old. Now, it seems, the Riders are returning - the world that once revered them, however, have all but turned against them. But something bigger seems to be rising - something has been affecting the dragons. Wild dragons act erratically, they do not behave as the grand, exalted beings they are known as. The patterns noted previously mean nothing in the face of their fire and claws. Bonded dragons are losing their touch, refusing to speak any language and behaving like feral beasts- even attacking their riders. The dwarves have retreated into there cities, blaming the riders for bringing the tragedy upon them, saying that any majestic beast such as a dragon forced under the yoke of a man is bound to break at some point. The elves say nothing, no word has been passed through them for some time. They are there, and their cities open, but every citizen is frantically busy; searching their histories and performing their rituals in any attempt to ease the wound upon their home. Human kingdoms close upon themselves, scoring outsiders and raising armies. They blame each other, and olive branches and bridges alike are burned. Among the disarray, odd creatures are popping up along the continent, bewildering even the smartest elf and oldest dragon. Whispy things made of silver or gold, one second dancing in the scattering light and the next blown away with the wind. They speak no language, make no noise, and have no home, but wherever they appear they leave their mark. Animals and plants alike seem to bend to their will, forming strange beings and pockets of magical landscapes. Perhaps these creatures are bending the dragons to their will? Even the elves do not know. One thing is for certain - if the dragons' behaviors became more erratic, what once was cities and villages may simply become burned, charred masses of what once was. Storyline was created by Reikier! ------ In general, the rules of how the world/Alagaesia works is the same as in the books, although instead of dragons basically being extinct/non-existent except for a small handful, like during Eragon's time, there are plenty of dragons, but most are wild and generally pretty feral. (So villages get burned down frequently because someone decided to piss off one of the dragons and whatnot, lol). Riders are pretty much non-existent, though, since years of living with wild, easily-pissed off dragons kind of makes everybody hate them lol. (Obviously, there will be riders in the roleplay. :)) There are elves, dwarves, and the like, and I think I'm gonna have it so any human/dwarf/elf etc character can be a rider (I know in the books it was only humans and elves, I think.) -------- Dragons (Feral/Wild) -Tigimdarr (@Jamie) -Ais (@DarkMoon) -Hecate (@Msiai) Dragons (Dragons bonded w/ Riders) -Raollinthal (@Jamie) -Bastet (@Msiai) -Night (@SillyHyena) -Jedish (@Snini9) -Zaekor (@DarkMoon) -Wuuthra (@Jamie) Humans -Tirr (Half-Elf) - (@Reikier) -Relnin (Half-Elf) - (@Jamie) -Lucky Wells (@SillyHyena) -Kaezier (@DarkMoon) -Nyraz (@Jamie) Dwarves -Korvaskkrr (@Jamie) Elves - Mialöldrí (@Snini9) Urgals - Other -Tasal (Dragon/A second heart - @Msiai) -Durazr (Shade - @Msiai) Character SheetsView and Post Character Sheets0 players like this post! Hecate disapeared into the depths of the cave, and returned holding a round, glowing silver stone in his talons. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mialöldrí Let down the wards she'd set around her and Jedish, their forms visible in the thick foliage due to Jedish light coloring 0 players like this post! Like? |

(hey, sorry for the silence! Been pretty busy the last few days, my bad. :)) Rao approached cautiously, moving slowly as Hecate returned with a sort of glowing, round orb. The orb didn't seem like just a regular stone - it seemed to emit some type of energy, drawing her to the object. Relnin kept his hand firmly on Rao's side, feeling slightly uneasy, but choosing to make certain Rao stayed next to him despite her curiosity. -------- Tigimdarr snorted once more as he flew, smoke rising from his nose. Now, he was hungry again. Go figure. He didn't feel like diving into the lake, now. He felt more like going into his cave and sleeping for several days. Perhaps weeks. He hadn't decided yet. In fact, sleeping for years felt like more of his style. His nose picked up the scent of dragon and elf again - the smell made him snort in annoyance. He could blame the smells on the wing tossing scents towards his nose from the east, but he knew better; a dragon's sense of smell was too superior to be foiled by something as simple as the weather. His eyes picked up a flash of something in the undergrowth beneath him, and his eyes caught what appeared to be a dragon - but he was more focused on the small figure near it. An elf. He let out a quiet growl in response to this - what the hell was an elf doing all the way out here? He didn't really want to deal with such things - he had already ran into too many reminders of his Rider, and he wasn't about to deal with an elf, of all things. An elf who seemed to be a Rider. "It seems the days of the Riders are coming once again." He pondered, snorting a little at his wistful attitude. ------ 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hecate place Tasal down on the earth before them reverently, and looked to Rao. What have you brought me, Hecate? An elf and a young dragon? A pair? Ah. Come here, both of you. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shrondurn smelled Jedish and her rider before Tirr had even thought they were getting close. The dragon's nose twitched, scenting the other dragon and a twinge of magic. He swung his head and their direction staring towards the figures appearing in the distance. Tirr looked after him, slightly in awe of the dragon's senses, and followed quickly. He waved pleasantly to Mialöldrí despite his anxiety, if it wasn't her flying over the city, that confirmed his fears: more riders near them, and skilled ones at that. 0 players like this post! Mialöldrí Returned the wave with a smile, her body language hiding the true worry she was feeling. Those riders had been just as good, if not a little better than she was. The worrying part of it all was how close they were to normal villages. It was too close for comfort 0 players like this post! Like? |

Tirr smiled back, jogging a little to stand up beside Shrondurn's massive head, which the dragon shook gently to rid itself of dew. The storm-coloured dragon sent a cordial message of greeting towards Jedish and settled his talons into the undergrowth as Tirr started explaining what had transpired to Mialöldrí. "Hello Mialöldrí, Jedish." the half-elf offered a short bow, he didn't wait for a response before continuing frantically. "You saw those dragons, right? One of them had a rider, but I dont think the other did. I don't think I've seen either dragon before- it wasn't that massive one, either. I was talking with Shrondurn while we looked for you and he doesn't know either... the townspeople are freaking out, too. I heard the guards around the market square, they think there's a den somewhere and want to go look for it. Sorry I didnt get here sooner." he stopped, breathless and slightly embarrassed at his fear. Somewhere in his mind bond, he heard Shrondurn chuckle and mumble something about dragons. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mialöldrí nodded."don't be sorry for something you can not control. I see that he's grown large." Mialöldrí Said, gesturing to Shondurn. "What did he choose as his name?" She asked curiously as Jedish dipped her head slightly to watch the smaller dragon. Jedish was large for her gender and age and hadn't stopped growing 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shrondurn looked up to Jedish, both literally and figuratively. He was on the smaller side of dragons, even if he was still growing, he wondered if he'd even get that noble-looking as he dipped his head respectfully. "Shrondurn," answered Tirr, prompting the dragon to glance at him. "He told me not too long ago..." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jedish returned the gesture before she turned her attention back to Mialöldrí and Tirr. "Shrindurn. I like that name." Mialöldrí Said with a grin. "It has a good...sound? To it" she said. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Two dragons, now. One smaller than the other. Tigimdarr contemplated this as he watched from high up, snorting plumes of smoke. He could see the townspeople in Dras-Leona - they seemed to be scrambling, now, the guards mounting horses and holding spears. He assumed they had noticed all of the activity. He snorted again, this time with amusement; as if a bunch of puny humans would attempt to attack him. He whipped his head around and let out a loud, aggressive roar, watching with an almost amused expression as one of the men on horses toppled off of his mount in fear. Tigimdarr turned his head, beating his wings as he began to fly back north. A detour would be smart, however, he decided as he began to fly east. -------- Relnin's head jerked back in surprise as he heard a voice enter his head. The voice did not seem human to him, and he was baffled as to how a rock was able to speak. Rao seemed equally surprised, but more curious than anything else, edging closer and sniffing, following the voice's instructions as she stepped closer to Hecate and the orb he held. ----- Wuuthra followed as the dragons entered the Spine, ducking into the shadow of the mountains and picking up speed. He lost sight of them as they disappeared into the wooded landscape, his vision momentarily obscured by a plume of smoke rising from below. Urgals. he snorted lighty, paying them barely enough attention to seem like he cared before using his nose to follow the scent of the two dragons and their rider. He came upon a cave with a huge entrance - whatever lived here was big. But no matter. he commented, giving as close to a grin as a dragon could as he circled, preparing to land. 0 players like this post! Like? Durazur smiled coldly as they circled. “We’ll get them later, if the noise we make here doesn’t scare them off.” ————— Tasal suddenly stabbed his mind into theirs, hunting for any hints of menace. (Sry it’s short, in school) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Tirr nodded, chuckling gently. "Yeah," he agreed passively as Shrondurn gently bumped him with his wing. '𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦... 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦. 𝘕𝘰 𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵.', the stormy dragon directed into Tirr's mind. The half-elf shuffled awkwardly under the careful and knowing gaze of both Shrondurn and Mialöldrí, sensing the edge in his dragon's mannerisms. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Be careful" Mialöldrí catiouned."you don't want to get tangled up with dragons older and larger than your own." She said, tilting her chin to the sky above. "Jedish won't harm either of you, but I can't say the same for others." She said. "Have you flown yet?" She asked curiously 0 players like this post! Like? |

Tirr perked to attention, "Yeah," he agreed again, ", especially not the ones we saw earlier." He raised an eyebrow at the elf's question, mentally telling Shrondurn to hush as the dragon's '𝘐 𝘵𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘰!' rang through his mind. "No, not yet." he admitted, "I wasn't sure if I- If we were ready." 0 players like this post! Like? |
