Agryo - That's some great math! It's kind of concerning though... Also I read the news post and I feel like some players may have different opinions now as opposed to when the survey came out. I know I do. Edit: I would much rather have a fireflies > meteor shards or fireflies > axion cores conversation. Wtf am I supposed to do with SB in the event shop? 0 players like this post! Like? On the community update they published the results of the July polls. Interestingly enough, there were only a tiny fraction of players who outright disliked the old event, and more people liked everything about the previous July event than the ones who liked the content but not the storyline. Regarding the space dragon event, over 80% liked the art design, but only 20% are satisfied with the mechanics and currency drops. While I appreciate the transparency regarding the poll results, I don’t see the reason why they remain so adamant about retiring the former event and characters entirely. They said that it was “absolutely time for the previous July event to be retired” and that “rewriting the storyline wouldn't have erased how existing players felt about the characters from playing the storyline as it was, and it was just time for it to come to a close,” without really explaining why. Based on the responses in this thread, I don’t think that’s the case. Many players loved the characters of Menhit, Apollyon and Tefnut and suggested a rewrite. With all due respect to the hard work the team does, retiring the July event and characters was a very poor decision and doesn’t reflect the wishes of the player community. Especially considering that the new dragon event has poor mechanics that are frustrating to most people. 0 players like this post! Like? |

: The July event has a special place in our heart because it was the first event we were around for, and even though I'm still enjoying the event, I miss the storyline and characters and I think we would have preferred the old event and I feel like this isn't as satisfying of a replacement as it could have been. 0 players like this post! I posted early on before all the tweaks and this latest update, and my opinion remains the same. It feels like a reskin of the wolvden lunar event but nerfed heavily because of how different liodens (battle) mechanics are. I was super hyped before it dropped, but it’s been nothing but disappointing. Sad to say it’s definitely been dropped off my list of events to play. I second Aggy’s points though. October is so god damn fun. Theres so many ways to grind things, and theres so much content woven together so well that it almost doesn’t feel like a grind to me. July in comparison is not only a grind but it’s a trek up a glue trap mountain. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hey I just wanted to back up Agryo's statement about the math. I started the event with about 2100 MS and once the apps dropped I went through the celestial explore until I had enough for a single marking app. I am now at around 1370 MS ;-; 0 players like this post! Like? |

I stopped entering the celestial raffles. I just.. stopped. I can't afford to waste 5 axion cores, that's more than I often get on a full bar of energy's worth of meteor shards! Also echoing the weird firm stance on not bringing back the old event npcs.. despite the community very much saying they'd prefer otherwise? What's the point of asking for feedback if you aren't going to take it? 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 16/07/21 @ 17:01:36 by Ry (CLEAN King) (#121602) |

I was kinda surprised to see people not wanting the old npcs back when so far I've seen alot of people wanting them and just having the storyline change and i just kinda wanna know why? Is there a reason they won't? Like did some bad stuff go out about lioden because of Apademak? It's probably not cause if it was just him they'd most likely only get rid of him but it just feels like there's something else... Or there probably isn't and I'm just digging into this too much which i most likely am lol. I'm not trying to nag on and on about wanting them back but I'm just kinda wondering they they're so firm on keeping them out when alot of people genuinely liked them. 0 players like this post! Like? Hey everyone :) I’ve made another thread in regards to the July event, with actual suggestions involved in it. If you’d like to take a peek, it’s right here : https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429432187 Thanks for taking the time to talk your feelings out in this thread; it makes me glad to know other people feel the same way I do 0 players like this post! While I do hope next year this event is much better since it will be the "full" thing, I'm still really disappointed with the update. This month's event was the one I was looking most forward to and I hate that I never got to or never will get to take part in it. Oh well, I suppose. I hope things change and they end up actually changing their minds and incorporating the old characters/story 0 players like this post! Like? |

I understand why the Lioden team is so insistent on removing the July characters, honestly. It may only have been Apedemak who was the source of the issue, but keeping any reminders of him via the other characters still runs the risk of being triggering. While I'm disappointed that I never got to experience the initial July event, I do get their reasoning for replacing it. My main issue is that the replacement to this hyped-up, beloved event is just... really boring and borderline nonsensical in its current state. What intrigued me about the old July event were the branching storylines and political intrigue, but there's none of that in the new version. Hopefully those elements return in some form next year. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Poking my head back in to say how the energy to shards to celestial explore steps ratios are so jank. Edit: Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. Your attack misses. You lose miserably. Exhausted and close to death, you use the last of your energy to flee the battle. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 17/07/21 @ 16:35:14 by Cas (#67347) |

@Agryo [BLM] It's kind of remarkable how badly they screwed these battle-heavy events up when they already did a great job with the October event. The Halloween event is my favorite one because of all of the reasons you listed (plus I'm an edgelord. I like the edgy decor >:3). It's nowhere near as grndy feeling like this. The shards of evil are (arguably) the most grindy currency if you're trying to get enough mane apps to make incubus, but that's dependent on the player. As you said, you can focus on whatever currency you want. The event isn't forcing you to play one way like this one does. And the Halloween battles are not hard most of the time. You can just spam pound or claw and win, unlike this event where you can get three-shot killed. I find it weird how they just straight-up ignored the mechanics/currency drop issues and focused on the lack of storyline. THE MECHANICS and DROPS are the biggest problems! Those are the most important ones and they didn't even address it. It's very disappointing and shows to me that they didn't really listen to us. I REALLY hope they fix the mechanics AT LEAST. 0 players like this post! Like? |

returning to this thread cause i'm still having awful luck with battles. even if my attacks land, it's not enough to kill the enemy before they get me. not to mention the battling just...isn't all that fun, and it doesn't give nearly enough currency to justify grinding. yet i'm doing it cause i want those applicators... i am really annoyed the staff didn't address the mechanics or drop rates as well. that's what's making this event not fun. just frustrated at this point. 0 players like this post! as someone who recently joined about two months ago, i have no relation to the past storylines many loved before the craziness that happened. however, while i agree the event with space dragons isn’t very related/tied in well with the basis of the game, i still really appreciate the event. i have approximately 700+ axion cores and counting as i explore frequently throughout each day. while i completely understand the struggle of the dragon/boss battles, i maybe lose 30% of explore battles (including bosses). charge > grab > pound until they die is my favorite method, and has proven the best for the majority of the dragons. never use rest, and spam roar if it looks like a floating blob of air. i love how the event is difficult, but not impossible if you put energy into it. as someone who can’t afford to spend dollars on the game, but time, it allows for great rewards for me to sell further down the line. again, i fully understand the frustration and agree there at least needs to have a better storyline connection. in short, i think the event has potential. 0 players like this post! As Horace said above, "not to mention the battling just...isn't all that fun, and it doesn't give nearly enough currency to justify grinding. yet i'm doing it cause i want those applicators..." That's about where I'm at right now. I skip most of the enemies, except the Burstling/Dustling enemies and the Wyverns. There is nothing enjoyable about being stunlocked to death by enemies that are supposedly >>>>> weaker than me. And on the boss battles? Fight > Flee > Return to explore. And I have to do boring adult things like go to work, so I can't spend my entire day exploring. Too much frustration for not enough reward. The math is jank. 0 players like this post! Like?
