I wouldn't mind at all but these battles are ridiculously unfair. I miss the enemy 6-7 times in a row while they manage to hit almost every time. I don't get it. How can you miss a giant Godzilla sized lizard? I also don't like the idea of paying 5 meteorities for a single step. I wouldn't mind if the enemies dropped a nice decor, background or gems from time to time as a reward but now it doesn't make any sense. Why we have to pay for every step and not for entering the area for the first time instead? If you force me to pay make it at least worth it.. I'm sorry if I sound a bit too angry but losing my 4th battle and wasting so much currency really made me upset about this whole event. 0 players like this post! Like? I am mainly ticked about the battles foremost. I liked the storyline of the old event, and it had a special charm to it and the event with the most diverse options and outcomes. I loved that you could fake-support Apdemak, choose a revolutionary aproach or let the daughter correct his father's crimes. I didn't get the distaste for Apdemak, he was just a horrible person/corrupted by power, a villian. I figure the issue was that it wasn't the way he was originally presented and what people imagined him being was vastly different from what the developers planned. The storyline was already in place when I joined, so he was pretty obviously for me the bad guy that was absoloutly crazed with his own power and greed to have the perfect and pure lion. The event had a special place to my heart and I liked the lore it had. This, I just don't really feel any sort of way currently. It does feel a little Wolvden-ish, a game I had am on hiatus. it has some greatof features but it's just... bland and a little too grindy. Like I am just getting the shit I wan't, that it and goodbye. Currency balance feels somewhat allright now, even if the mechanics are weird and I have just given up one the raffle lionesses altogether. But god the enemies suck royal a$$. Especially that Radiant snake. God I hate that bastard. Keeps hitting me with insane damage. But the worst offender was when I literally only made one move and then the enemy proceeded to stunlock me without me being able to do anything. This should not be allowed to happen. It also doesn't seem to be an once a thing either, given people have responded with “I hate when it happenst to me too". It's the foxes from WD all over again. A small tip though- kicking dustlings seem to be fairly effective for me. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I agree about the battling, it's a little over focused and the battles themselves kind of annoying. My lion has a massive strength advantage most of the time but I lose more than that seems to suggest. I do really like the space dragons and the art itself, and I want to see what happens with it next year. I think my deep dislike for the event we're dropping is making me biased, though, and I'm enjoying it's absence so much that it's affecting my view of what's in front of me. Apdemak's arch and the sudden, abusive, incestuous dynamic between the characters deeply upsets me. I've been around since long before the event, and I was excited to see their stories expanded until I was smacked in the face with triggering content. I think I personally would have been happy for anything that replaced the previous event. I adore the space themes and hate that to get my favorite decors I had to deal with a character I've come to despise. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 28/07/21 @ 04:10:11 by Angel (#28764) |

That "your stunned" and auto goes threw the rest of the fight killing you is getting on my very last nerves. I did not work so hard for 4k stats, for it to mean absolutely nothing. Why have stats in a game where it dont matter anyhow. Definitely have no intention of playing this event next year. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I just discovered that doing Celestial Explore used up BOTH my energy AND shards. I find that very concerning, especially considering it doesn't feel like the staff is listening to our feedback about how broken this event is. I'm starting to worry that the mechanics are going to get WORSE next year. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm so happy that the event is almost over. This event in general has been a huge let down and drain. I hope it gets fixed next year, but my expectations are super low since the staff haven't even mentioned the main problems everyone has with this event. Really though, I am somewhat scared they might try to remake other events to be more like this one. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Honestly, it feels like to me personally that the team didn't even want to try and make the July storyline better, when I felt like it would not only be easier for them, but it could also redeem Apedemak and make everyone feel less uncomfortable. I mean, we've seen through Tefnut that the celestial lions are capable of dying too (unless tefnut is a different being from Apedemak and his daughter). How about instead of being a creepy pervert who wants his daughter in a way he shouldn't, maybe instead the story changes to Apedemak wants Menhit to take over the kingdom when he could no longer rule? Maybe he's raised her all her life the ropes of being a leader and a diplomat, and due to this expectation there is a lot of pressure on Menhit she never wanted in the first place. Maybe this conflict for what each character wants for Menhit's future leads to the main conflict. Apedemak wants her to grow up so to speak and take her place he raised and trained her for, and Menhit wants the freedom to choose her own path. As for Apollyon, maybe when he starts dating her Apedemak sees him as an immature, aloof character here just to distract his daughter from her royal duties as his heir, and Menhit is mad that her dad won't give Apollyon a chance and see him for who he really is, someone who cares about her. Wouldn't a subtle story change like that be better over throwing out every character and redesigning a whole new event not many people actually wanted? Even if you didn't like my specific ideas there are many ways to redeem the characters without making Apedemak look like a weirdo. I just don't get it! And on top of that, the devs have the power to say the old storyline where Apedemak wants Menhit as a concubine and kills his own wife isn't cannon, and the new story they came up with is! Like, is it really that hard to redeem the characters people love for the most part?! 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 05/09/21 @ 08:14:41 by Inferious (#102788) |

I'm just dropping back in to this thread to check in on the newer users and remind y'all that October is next month. I'd strongly recommend that anyone newer to Lioden give that event an honest try, then compare how they felt playing through October compared to this mess of July. October is touted as a battle event done right, and I think even if you limit your comparison to just one half of October (Heaven/Hell/Nirah or rabies/demons/undead) to all of July to make it a little more fair... October should be a lot more fun. Months later, I'm still very miffed at how tone-deaf and superficial the focus of the feedback poll was, and how biased the presentation of the data was. It very much deliberately was downplaying the negative opinions by separating them into different options, then only reporting the very worst. This is why you gotta take a stats class folks! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah, still pretty sad/annoyed/angry that the characters and story were dropped like a rabid mongoose. I like Inferious' idea, raising her to rule and the conflict that results from it. You could even keep the mystical parts of the whispers being gathered if Appy planned on using them to mind control Menny back into his kingdom and she and Chin Man could still try to stop him....just something other than what we are left with. I'm still feeling bitter about their dismissal of the overall feedback, could have been handled with a bit more tact. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm also still pretty bitter about missing the opportunity to try out the past July storyline but hey, there's sadly nothing we can do about this. If i had the time (and skill lol) i would love to do a complete rewrite in google docs for the entire event, suggesting ideas storywise and changing up characters personalities. I strongly agree with the ideas Inferious suggested on changing Apedemak's character, but then again, i suppose it makes sense that there will be old fans who will only ever remember him as "the lion who emotionally abused and tried to mate with his own daughter". Still, i wish we were given the opportunity to know more about the character like Tefnut. Just...I'm still so underwhelmed by the dragons and everything, it was very VERY disappointing. Hopefully i'll enjoy October with my man Nirah. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Late reply but I'm not letting this valid criticism get buried. Liodevs please listen to the community. We love y'all a lot, and we love what you do. We are truly grateful for everything you sacrifice and give to make this amazing site what it is. But July is not Lioden anymore. It is Wolvden. I quit Wolvden because of how grindy, unfair, and mean it is to the player-- and y'know what? Some people like that. But here on Lioden, battling is fair. Perhaps even easy. And that's what we as players enjoy about Lioden; its *Leisure.* PLEASE keep the unfair and cheesy RNG pay-to-get-fucked-up stuff over on WD bc if you keep the event as it is I promise the game's playerbase will TANK when that month rolls around. Getting rid of beloved characters you messed up with? Fine. I kind of know you guys won't revert it or even try to overhaul the story. But at the very least, make July playable. Please bros. 0 players like this post! Like? |

While I can see how a lot of people compare the new July event to Wolvden and its Lunar event, that's... really not the problem, at least not to me personally. I personally enjoy Wolvden in its own way, although nowhere near as much as I like Lioden, and part of that is that leisurely quality Ashy mentions. Wolvden is more challenging, and it does require more work in comparison to Lioden, which is one of the reasons I play it a lot more sporadically. With that said, while I can see the comparison between the July event and the Lunar event on a surface level (the whole collect this currency to explore this event area to get the real event currency), I honestly think the July event is 10 times worse. The battles in the Lunar event on Lioden are nothing like the aggravating, near impossible fights we saw in the July event, really, they're not any more difficult than the regular battles in the game (something that can't be said for the July event battles), and unless you pick a fight with an opponent far above your level, they're usually not particularly difficult. Also, the ratio of battle/non-battle encounters is a lot more balanced, so I feel like you can still gain a decent amount of currency even if you skip a lot of the battles. I don't personally find the collecting of Lunar Essence particularly challenging or intrusive (except for in the winter perhaps when there's so little daytime), so it doesn't feel like you're stuck with endless grinding. In the July event you really had to put up with the constant battles if you wanted to get *any* amount of currency, and then you're still likely to lose most of those battles anyway because of the constant stunlocking and ridiculously OP opponents that kill you in 3 hits. It's not even that the battles are challenging, it just feels like the entire system is unfairly rigged against you and it doesn't matter how strong you are or how hard you work, you're screwed either way. As for the the currency situation, the grinding required to explore in the Celestial explore area just isn't sustainable unless you're already sitting on a massive pile of meteor shards from the previous year. The two full energy bars + the 30% hyperactive energy bonus I'd start my day with would rarely get me enough shards to take more than a handful of steps in the event area and most of it would be wasted on constantly losing battles. I'd be lucky if I got more than 5-10 cores from all that tedious, frustrating work. The whole event just left me feeling exhausted, and it actively drained any enjoyment I usually get out of this game. My general experience with Wolvden is that it's tough but fair. You have to put in a bit more work, yes, but it's not unreasonable, and it doesn't feel actively unfair. The july event does. So while I do understand the oft-repeated Wolvden comparison in terms of general game mechanics, in terms of actual difficulty, I think they're nothing alike. Wolvden is child's play compared to the new July event. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 22/09/21 @ 15:01:16 by Seolhe (#136122) |

I honestly hate the july event now and it bleeds into me hating lioden sometimes because mods always get upset we compared the two games but wtf is this youre actually merging the games we loved the old july event this change is the worst and the reviews on the polls arent accurate because people who hated the july event skipped it entirely i didnt even know there was a poll because i was too frustrated with the event 0 players like this post!
