Art and Coding Bug Fixes* Decors on Dorsal Fur pride leader portraits should no longer be flipped * Fixed a duplicate of "Celadon" that replaced "Tessera" genetics, and thus prohibited any "Dunt" eyes to appear * Lion Pride Veiled Wraps [Light Blue and Pink] should now display on all lions * Previously, the Item Catalogue would not search all locations that an item was available in, this has been fixed * Searching for main males wouldn't sort by level properly, this has been fixed Regarding the July EventHello, Lioden! We're just writing this to extend a hand from the devs to the players, and touch base with you all on some of the feedback and comments we've been receiving over the past couple of days. Retiring the EventAs we mentioned in previous news posts (July 2020, June 2021, and July 2021), the original July event would be retiring this year. We know that July was a very content rich event with lots of things to do. We know that the theme overall is popular, too. We know that by comparison, what launched this month seems less than and that can be a shock. However, all of our events started off launching on a smaller scale and grew over time. This time is no different, but we understand it can be disappointing now that the majority of events have had several years of fleshing out. We really hope you'll be patient with us and be excited to watch it grow. Because of several years of content additions, in the end the event became messy and disjointed, and we felt it required a complete overhaul. Additionally, we know that the storyline left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths, and as explained, we felt it best to leave these characters behind and move on with new characters. We know that originally it was planned for Tefnut to have a mini backstory, but over time we as devs felt the storyline needed to be put to rest, and so that didn't happen. We were surprised to see players upset about the removal of the storyline when we had explained it would be retiring, and so few players voiced their upset at this before. Launching the New EventTefnut's memories, in hindsight, shouldn't have launched until the 8th and we apologise for that. Gathering MS which could then be spent there sent the wrong message when the new explore requires the shards to have steps. The apps originally launched in SB prices. After concern started being voiced by players about how cheap they were and the risk it would ruin the market, the prices got upped. This then caused more upset with other players, and the prices were changed to MS. This, then, caused upset again, and it became obvious that all of these choices were wrong. We then moved to remove the apps entirely from the shop and are still considering what to do, but we can promise that the apps will not return for a MS price, and more likely to be reverted to either SB, AC, or the option for both. The new MS output is intentional because the event has changed. However, we listened to you all and gave an increase so you'd be able to get more steps in celestial explore. Back to the celestial explore. We've seen comments voiced that it's too similar to the lunar event on Wolvden and that's upsetting, but we think considering it's an explore system, it is impossible not to see similarities between our other games and events. We will however consider the feedback for this, and look to see if we can do anything about this. With regards to the enemies - they have more 'special' components than regular enemies, such as some of them having soft skin, some having tough, some being biters or stranglers, etc etc, but their overall 'power' is still lower than most enemies. In fact, it's lower than fighting regular lions in explore, though it likely feels different because they have more components and you have to work out what their strengths and weaknesses are. Additionally, we actually lowered this again after your feedback. Success rates were pretty good in testing as well, even with low stat kings. To Sum UpWe hope you guys will agree that whilst we might not get everything right to begin with, we have a good track record of doing what we can to make it right. Any time event tiers have been too high or seeming unfair, we have moved to change them or lower them for better balance. We don't do things just to upset players - what would the point of that be? We're trying our best, and sometimes we don't always get it right first time, but we endeavour to make sure we do what we can to *put* it right. We'd just like to formally apologise for all the ups and downs over the past few days. There have been a lot of quick fire changes. A lot of upset forum posts, news comments and chat posts. We don't anticipate to make any further changes this year beyond one or two more tweaks and hope that things will settle, but we're taking everything on board for next year. Thank you for your patience, and we appreciate the valuable feedback you have given. * We have adjusted "empty" explore encounters in Celestial Explore to now reward between 5-10 Meteorite Shards or 1 Axion Core at random. Feedback and SurveysIn light of recent events, we have chosen to be more strict in our enforcement of attacks on our staff team. The attacks on our staff team and comments directed at them have been unacceptable, cruel, and without constructive criticism. These attacks not only harm our staff team, but our players as well—we have received feedback that players have been afraid to give their opinions in the chat room and on the forums due to the fear of being turned on by their fellow players with these same attacks. Due in part to this, we have found it necessary to follow with the enforcement of limiting attacks on our staff team. These are not new rules, these are existing rules that are currently enforced within the Code of Conduct. To offset this, we will also be introducing greater chances of feedback so that every voice can be heard. Today, we are introducing a new way for you to give us your feedback - anonymous surveys. These surveys are here to provide an equal opportunity for players to provide feedback, and allow all voices a chance to contribute to the game's growth. They will offer a safe way for everyone to be heard, and will be everyone's first and best place to supply their thoughts in a constructive way without fear of being criticised. We have created a survey to receive feedback from everyone regarding July's event update, and the link can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeL-aPtccdpLklsQ0C-V2oHbcBUrhy5spza1CT_Ga65Aarvmw/viewform Raffle LionessCongrats Karina (#212267)! You have won last week's Ebony lady, woo! A new Madagascar lady with Clay Indri (NEW!), Vitiligo 8, and the thirteenth Shores of Burundi background is up for impressing in the Special Lioness area linked here! thank you for posting this update it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, though, that the people who purchased lots of gb from the oasis to buy the apps when they were at 15k sb aren't being compensated? or if they are, can you tell us how? also, i haven't seen any "attacks" on the staff team in any of the treads i've read, and i've been keeping up with a lot of july threads. i've seen lots of constructive criticism, as well as people voicing their disappointment. saying that there have been attacks that were "cruel" and "without constructive criticism" is untrue. there have been multiple critiques left that were loaded with constructive criticism, and the section about "feedback and surveys" seemed very tone deaf. i'm glad to see that there has been 5-10ms or chances of ac per celestial explore step, i hope that will help with that issue for people in the future. 0 players like this post! @elisheva I really agree with this sentiment. I personally do not really use the chat, but I read every response on the event post and unless they removed some replies, I didn't see anything like personal attacks. I feel like this post and the survey seemed to completely miss what most people were upset about. 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's really sad this was necessary. Going forward, I am placing some measure of hope that other players will stop before they comment and realize game developers and staff are humans behind a screen, just like us, just like them. It's never okay to bully people, much less over pixels, and it is without a doubt entirely possible to offer constructive and well-considered criticism without being unnecessarily cruel. We've all been largely stuck inside for like a year and emotions are running high, and I get that, and I'm sure staff do too, but we're being given a free game that many of us have enjoyed for many years, and will hopefully be able to enjoy for many more to come. Let's not take our frustrations and anger out on the devs and staff for doing their best to offer us free entertainment. We all love this game and I'm not uncertain that a lot of the vitreol stems from that love, but being blatantly unkind is not the way to express that love and effort. This community has a huge potential to be kind to one another, and it's totally free to be nice. Contribute to the polls and suggestion forums and detail the changes you want to see instead of tearing people down because it you're stressed too. You don't need to bring others down in the hopes they'll empathize with you. Please just consider it. It's free and it's a boatload more helpful. 0 players like this post! Like? |

When a community gets as big as this one, it gets harder and harder to please everyone. I, for one, am excited to see what comes of the new event. Yes, elements of it remind me of Wolvden. Personally, I don’t see why that would be a bad thing. I like the balance of the Lunar events there. I’ve been on Lioden for a lot of years now (I like to think it means at least a little when some online and browser-based games can have a lot of turnover). I know the event will grow and improve and I. Can’t. Wait. ;) ...I know it doesn’t balance out the bad things, but you guys are an awesome team and have always striven your be fair with the community and everything going on in it. You’ve made a fun, balanced game, and as you said, when it hasn’t been you are willing to change it. So much love for all of you, and keep doing what you’re doing. Umm. I might need to make a thread just for some admin and mod love, ‘cause you all deserve so much more than empty flames. 0 players like this post! Like? |

sorry people have been toxic to you all. I have been enjoying these new changes & all the shop items are beautiful the people that are toxic will be toxic regardless no matter what you do or how hard you work, and they will eventually see themselves out because of it. it's a game after all, and games are meant to be enjoyed, and those kind of people only enjoy listening to themselves complain. the issue lies with them and you are all doing great. thanks for all the cool content over the years and looking forward to all the additions in the future 0 players like this post! I've also not seen any of these attacks on staff or users, so I can only assume they're either in the fast-moving chatbox, or being removed from boards. Criticism, even hard criticism, is not bullying and not being mean, and having it called an attack feels more like a play on the emotions to make people hesitant to give critique in case they get called a bully. That said, I like the anonymous form, its helpful. The update feels a little bit tone-deaf, but I get what you're going for. As usual, its always nice to see an admin/staff team open more avenues for feedback and respond to users. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Virtually all of the comments and posts critiquing the event I’ve seen on the forums and chat have been constructive and well thought out. I’m confused about where the personal attacks are coming from, or if I just didn’t see them. Regarding the Wolvden comparisons, I think players have issues more with the “grinding” aspect and higher commitment requirements being more in line with Wolvden, rather than both events having an explore system. 0 players like this post! I'm sorry y'all are being treated so nasty. Y'all are doing a great job It seems like people these days think they can get away with saying hurtful things as long as they label it as "constructive criticism". 0 players like this post! Like? |

I've been sorry to hear how you devs/staff members have dealt with so much abuse from players recently. :( Hopefully these news posts will be a wake-up call for some to better stick to constructive criticism and not get so upset. I just want to say that a lot of us actually see you guys are really talented and hard-working. You guys really listen to your player-base too even with how the game has grown bigger and bigger and it's really admirable as well. The July event is being revamped because the devs felt it best and while people are expectedly disappointed, as someone who's seen how much this game has changed and grown over the years, I trust in the devs' judgement and am always excited for the updates. :) Hopefully things settle down soon and thank you for all your hard work! 0 players like this post! Thank you for the update and letting us know There was quite a few people giving the mods, and the Lioden team as a whole lot of hate and did say a lot of negative things which I won't repeat. Some players, including myself, had to take time away from chatting amongst each other because it became downright toxic. People also have to take into mind that people behind the scenes are in fact people, and have feelings too. They work hard for what we have here today, and they're doing their best with what they have/what they can do right now. With Covid in the mix, yeah there was a lot put off, and that for sure needs to be taken in as well. (Plus, a lot of families were affected with a lot of people we know here.) Day in and day out, month after month and year after year, the Lioden team work their asses off and to try and meet deadlines and fix up some pretty rad stuff for us all, AND work on stuff in the background. Yeah, it's more than valid to be upset about a few things, but don't sit there and attack the people who try to bring us some joy and entertainment. You can be civil while being upset. Idk, maybe I'm over-speaking here. There is a LOT of potential with this new event, and we just need to work with them. Not everyone was giving them hate, but there were quite a few who could have stepped away for awhile tbh. If y'all do read this, please just know there are people who adore your work even through that behavior, and are excited to see where this event goes. Y'all take the time you need, and we'll try and help you out the best we can too. (Just in case, again, it IS more than valid to be upset. It's not okay to lash out on the people who might not have control over certain things as well, they're just doing their job. ) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Maybe I'm used to interacting with terrible people, but I didn't see any personal attacks on staff. Not every comment needs to be a suggestion essay. People are allowed to vent about something drastic and disappointing happening. I agree users should be respectful, but by claiming sharing an unpopular opinion regarding event decisions means you're breaking community standards creates a fearful environment where users don't want to give any feedback at all. The vague mention of stricter enforcement is very worrying to us paranoid types. If I report a decor issue will this be seen as an attack on the art team? If I make a forum topic regarding a coding error but don't leave advice on how to fix it am I a candidate for some sort of punishment? Staff put lot of time and effort into new content that me and many others are very grateful for. I appreciate the willingness to change and address issues instead of just ignoring them in favor of moving on as planned. Anon surveys were a good idea as they avoid the problem of forum suggestions becoming people simply agreeing with the popular option because they hear it most. The new art and themes are absolutely beautiful and the peaks at lore are interesting. I have hope that this new event will become a favorite once everything is settled. 0 players like this post!
