Flamingpaw snorted and shrugged, giving her shoulder a quick lick.

"Yeah, well, maybe if he wasn't a lazy flea I wouldn't have to call him one."

Flamingpaw looked into Marblefur's eyes, begging for an argument against her words, and, finding none, smirked.

"Sure, but don't expect much. That cat is like a piece of crowfood; once he's on the ground he isn't getting back up again."

She frowned, and then snorted at her own joke. Her tail flicked as she glanced at the warrior's den, where, even from here, she could hear her mentor's snoring.

She growled, watching the marble furred cat walk away. She shook her head again and yawned, flicking an ear.

Shade’Feather’s eyes opened slowly. He was staring up at the roof of the den, confused at the amount of light. Then he remembered something. His apprentice. He slowly pushed himself to his feet with a slight groan. His pelt was a little tattered and his eyes were a little dull. As he started walking toward the camp, his tail hung low. He stepped into the sunlight at hissed quietly, then took a step back as he almost walked into Marble’Fur.

“Oh, Sorry, I didn’t see you there.” He spoke quietly, his tone flat. He blew out a sigh. “I feel exhausted.. but I have a feeling, I slept way too long already.” He glanced past her and managed to spot Flaming’Paw off to the side. He mumbled something inaudible and started walking towards her, his tail low, and ears slightly bent back.

“Sorry, Flaming’Paw. Ready to go out?” He asked, and started turning towards the entrance before she could respond. “It’s so bright out..” he added on in a mumble.

Flamingpaw watched her mentor stumble out of the den. Something was wrong, she thought. She watched him walk sullenly over and spoke without waiting for her to answer.

"Uh, yeah..."

She muttered, jumping after him, eyes dark with something akin to worry. She glanced back at Marblefur and shrugged before following her mentor quickly.

Shade’Feather didn’t look back at her as he walked straight past the fresh kill pile and out into the forest. His pace was a lot slower than it had been the day before, and his tail-tip only twitched slightly. His ears were still angled slightly downward. He was trudging along, not really paying attention, but a stray scent made him pack up his head. He looked around for a second, then turned to the right, now on the proper track to the training ground. He didn’t say anything as he walked, he simply put one paw in front of the other, his mind wandering to some unknown place. If Flaming’Paw had said anything, he barely reacted, except for maybe a simple small ear flick.

“Right.” He stopped just at the clearing. “Today we are going to..” he paused for a second his eyes narrowing slightly. “Today we will practice hunting again. We didn’t get to do much yesterday, so, um yeah.” He stopped awkwardly, then glanced around the clearing. “So, you want to hunt or should I demonstrate again?” He asked, with a slight tilt of his head. He hadn’t scented the area yet, but that hadn’t quite crossed his mind to do so yet. He was trying to remember specifics about her hunt last time. Should he recap what they did? He looked down at his paws for a second and waited for her answer.
