Warrior shook himself a bit, trying to be more comfortable with the lioness grabbing him. He shook even more and suddenly he fell down on the sand and started crying. It looked like his paw was hurt. Not just hurt but a bit red too, maybe because he was walking for too long on this hot sand.

After some time of walking the clouds began to roll in. They had been in the desert now for several days and the cubs were growing tired. Their food and water was dwindling, but the scent of a pride was growing stronger. And rain. Rain was on the horizon! “If you sniff the air my loves,” she nodded to the cubs, “you can smell the changing of the season. With rain comes abundance, but with abundance comes poachers. Stay close to us, they are monsters on two legs.” She wasn’t going to sugar coat it for the cubs, but hopefully they wouldn’t encounter any poachers.
