Cassandra

She dipped her head to Daisy as a thanks, then looked at Rapid. "Yes, I think I can manage." She smiled softly. "Please stay with her if you can, I won't take long." She stepped away and started to head back to the Sungod camp, looking for familiar signs.

Murdoch

He nodded. "I did. We must prepare," he said, though not with much confidence. He hadn't been around for the last war though he knew his pack had won, but this was different. The Sungods were different.

Argus // They/Them

Argus laid about the camp, snoring slightly. Nothing of interest had happened ever since the attack, so they really had no reason to get up.

Selene | Midnight Pack’s Medicine Wolf

”That is.. true. I have seen far worse.” Selene replied to the beta’s remark with an amused voice, nodding her broad in agreement. Slowing down her pace, she allowed for her patient to set foot into her medicine cavern before she did, as he was much larger than her and needed to lay down tout de suite. “Make yourself comfortable. There’s a chance you’ll need to stay in here overnight so I can monitor your wounds. Though, of course, there is still a chance for you to sleep with the rest of the pack.” Selene stated, turning her back on him and promenading toward the herbs she had neatly stored into the spacious crevices that zigzagged horizontally across and vertically down the dim cave’s rocky walls.

As Vidar situated himself onto one of the nests ‘paw’-crafted (get it? ) out of moss, Selene gathered all of the needed herbs that the herb remedies required in order to heal the colossal brute’s wounds properly. “Dandelion, ragwort, poppy heads, leaf of a maple tree.. Cobwebs.” Elena murmured, listing out the required herbs. “Okay.” Elene said, gathering her healing supplies and shuffling over to the wounded canid.

Before Elene mounded up the herbs with her teeth and applied them to Vidar’s wounds, she gave his fur a couple of brisk licks to clean up the scathed areas that had been coated with the Beta’s battle opponent’s blood. The medic had to force herself to not scrunch up her muzzle at how rancid and metallic the encrusted sanguine flood had tasted. Once she fulfilled the first step, she moved on to grinding up the medicinal plants with her teeth and pasting them onto the cuts by using her tongue.

Afterwards, she hooked a spider web onto her claw and gently laid it on to one of the wounds that were covered with the herb poultice. The achromatic she-wolf then proceeded to repeat this action a few more times before thinking all of the gauze was covered. Parting her jaws open as if to divulge the information of how his wounds would heal to Vidar, she rapidly clenched them shut when she caught sight of Bloodborne slinking into the cavern. The blue-eyed canid remained silent as she watched the alpha and her beta exchange a few words between each other.

Selene’s heart suddenly dropped when the beta mentioned the word ‘war’. War? No, they must be speaking of the one from half a century ago. The medicine she-wolf could feel the rapid thrumming of her heart and pulsing of her veins through her ear canals. “W-war?” Selene croaked. ’This shouldn’t surprise me. Vidar initiated the attack, and it resulted in him assassinating the Sungods beta. But.. still. I’m not prepared for war. There has been an herb shortage as of late, and if people get injured or even perish, I won’t be prepared..’ The white-furred canine said inwardly to herself.

(Also, I just wanted to mention to those who may be using their warrior cats knowledge when it comes to herbs that Selene’s practices are, in fact, very much so fictitious. I did incorporate some that are used throughout the book series such as cobwebs, etc, but overall, her practices are much different in comparison to the warrior cats and maybe even the medics in the Sungods Packs. (Obviously, the a large majority of the plants she uses are in fact real, but not all of them are! ;)

Additionally, I also wanted to inform that Selene’s healing practices are indeed closed off and are not allowed to be used by anyone else, unless that somebody else is the secondary medicine wolf for the Midnight Pack. I know no one was thinking of trying to copy her ways of healing, but just wanted to put this out here just in case! )

CW FOR BLOOD AND GORE

Argus

As the large canine laid there, they suddenly were overcome by a sense of peace. The memories of their pup-hood came back to them. Playing with their sister, trailing their father as he walked around their territory, messing up the herbs of the healer. What had happened that made them so stoic?
...
"Are you sure we should be here?" The small gold and grey pup asked, looking around the shadowy woods with wide, scared green eyes.
"It'll be fine, Argus!" Replied the other pup. Argus's sister, Marine. She had always been the braver one. The one to dive head-first into some crazy adventure.
Marine and Argus looked exactly alike, save for the red mask she wore, likely from their mother. They both had the same stature, the same green eyes, the same kink in their tails. Twins, no doubt about it. Yet they couldn't be more different personality-wise.
Maybe that's what had caused it...
As the two pups travelled through the unfamilier territory, Argus began to get the feeling something was watching them. They walked closer to their sister, finding comfort in the heat given off by her long grey fur.
"Marine, i don't like it here! Please, can we go back?" The large pup asked, desperation creeping into their whine.
"Um... fine, i guess we ca-" the other pup's sentence was cut short as a large coyote burst from the darkness, taking the she-pup in it's jaws, shaking her like a freshly-caught piece of prey. Argus watched in horror as their sister's blood was splattered over the clearing, staining the one pure grass.
It wasn't until the coyote dropped the now-lifeless body of Marine that Argus saw their sister's head was missing from her torso. Turning, Argus did the only thing they could. They ran.

"No, I don't." He paused to think for a minute. "I'd assume she scrapes her claws on something, but I don't have a guess as to what." He sighed, his tail twitching. "Perhaps we should try, though. Sharp claws would give quite the advantage."

Tula

The she-wolf stirred as she blinked her eyes open, feeling well-rested but with a mind full of frantic thoughts about the war. Tula was certain that the Midnight wolves were organized and prepared, gathering defenses and supplies to protect their pack. On the other paw, the Sungods seemed oblivious to war tactics, almost as if they were waiting to be massacred. Tula knew something had to be done to ensure the safety of her pack. She sighed, wishing for Ezra's leadership in this critical time. With a determined resolve, Tula got up and decided to take matters into her own paws. She muttered to herself, "What would Ezra do?" and made her way to Argus, the sleeping med wolf. Tula nudged the multicolored wolf gently with her nose, trying not to startle them. "Argus!" she whispered hurriedly, "We need to gather the necessary medical supplies to prepare for the Midnight pack's attack. It could happen at any moment, and the Sungods aren’t organized in the slightest. I could use your medical experience to find the herbs that are missing from the stock, will you help me look?” Tula offered a hopeful smile, trying to convey her intentions without sounding too bossy.

Argus was jerked out of their memories of the past, seeing a familier face standing above them. "Ah- yes, of course." They said, trying to stand on shaking paws. "What- what are we missing?" They said, shaking the grass and dirt from their pelt before holding their head at high alert.

Tula

She knew of a few medicinal treatments, only because her mother was a healer, a talented one at that. Tula paused as she thought for a moment, “I supposed we’d need chamomile and yarrow to soothe wounds, willow bark for inflammation if I remember correctly… and probably moss to fabricate more beds for the injured to rest on.” She looked at Argus through her bright amber eyes, tilting her head she asked. “Do you have an idea where all that can be found? Hopefully it’s available in Sungod territory…” Tula trailed off, aware of the risks of venturing into enemy territory as two Sungods. However, the supplies were essential, and she was willing to go to great lengths to retrieve them.

Daisy & Rapid

Rapid nodded at Cassandra and looked over to the weird furred wolf. "I love the way your fur looks in the sun." She complimented the way Daisy's fur looked purple and blue when the sun hits her just right.
"Oh, thanks. I love the red you got going on." Daisy didn't really know what it was. "How do you do it?"
"Um, well, actually I was born this way. It's my mutation." Rapid smiled at the curious wolf.
