"Well, I did think you were annoying when you'd win our little feuds. In actuality, I think those were the only times I truly found you annoying." he said, slightly surprised that he couldn't think of another time he found her annoying. He looked over briefly while trying to catch a scent and almost laughed when he saw her doing the same thing. Old habits die hard, huh? He remembered they were practically attached by their tails for the two moons that they were kits together. Where Cloudkit went, Sharpkit was somewhere nearby and vice versa. He had been disappointed to see her leave the nursery, but happy that she'd become an apprentice. Plus, it only made his resolve grow, wanting to become an apprentice even more than before.

His train of thought stopped when Cloudheart turned back to him with a squirrel in her mouth. He purred in approval, having been watching her catch the prey, even though he was slightly lost in thought. "Nice catch Cloudy." he nodded with a flick of his tail. He then turned back to catching a scent, and managed to catch that of a starling. He crouched down low to the ground, keeping his tail above the ground so it didn't brush anything and make noise. He soon saw the bird, scratching in the dirt to find some insects probably. The wind was blowing the starling's scent to him, luckily not the other way around. He made sure he could catch the bird in a single leap, and then he did just that. He pounced on the bird, trapping the creature beneath his paws before biting its neck. It didn't have enough time to put up a struggle, so it was a clean kill. He licked the bird's blood off of his muzzle before picking up his kill and taking it back to where Cloudheart was with her squirrel.

She smiled, her peachy fur was fluffed up nicely adding a happy touch to her. Cloudheart rolled her eyes as he said she was annoying when she won. Of course she was, because she WAS the winner! As he was surprised that those were the only times he was annoyed at her she opened her mouth and acted irritated before gigling again. What a brute (/j)! As he noticed a prey scent and got down to quickly catch it she thought of a reply to his surprised act. When he padded back to her with a starling between his teeth she began her jokey approach.

"You love me Bumble, that's why there haven't been more occasions where you found me annoying."

She rolled her eyes playfully before tipping her tail tip onto his ear. Again her laugh could be heard, today was fun, even if it was already later in the afternoon.

Sharptongue's starling almost dropped out of his mouth when she said that. He felt a prickling, burning sensation happen beneath his fur, making it puff up slightly. He quickly shook off the shock though, hoping she hadn't noticed the way he'd stiffened. "Of course I love you, Cloudy." he said casually, a pleased purr rumbling deep in his chest. He had to admit, when she called him Bumble, it made him feel all fuzzy inside. Of course, she was the soul person he'd ever let call him such an adorable nickname. "I don't know how I'd have put up with you as an apprentice if I didn't." he teased, his emerald eyes turning into slits as he laughed lightly. He flicked her ear lightly with his tail again to show her he was obviously teasing. As if his laughter hadn't already done that. He took the starling and placed it in a hollow in the roots of a nearby tree, placing dirt over it to hide it visually as well as its scent. After all, he wasn't quite ready to head back to camp yet. They could come back for it later.

Aspenstep makes his way through the underbrush, carefully dragging two stems of horsetail along with him. He pauses for a moment just outside the entrance to the camp, trying to think of the best way to maneuver the stems so that they aren't damaged in the process.

She had to admit it, when he said "Of course I love you Cloudy", her fur got warmer. And why did her stomach feel like she had swallowed a group of butterflies? No, she had to shake that off. He was a friend and it would cut deeply if their friendship was ruined because of her feelings. So she had to pretend, act like it didn't make her almost scream when he flirted with her as a joke. This must have been how her parents had felt, they had always been really close. As sharptongue continued talking about their apprentice life she could only nod, not listening half of the time. Why did she chose such a handsome tom to become her best friend. It had to be doomed that she would fall in love either him. He couldn't now, he wasn't supposed to know, it was better if they stayed friends bit how bad Cloudheart wanted him to become her mate. She sighted. Her eyes widened as she hoped that Sharptongue hadn't heard it.

He glanced over when she sighed and walked over to stand beside her, a clearly concerned look replacing the amusement in his eyes. He lightly draped his tail over her shoulders when they were standing next to each other. "Cloudy? Are you alright?" he inquired, eyes scanning over her, making sure she didn't seem visibly injured. I mean, it was highly unlikely that could have happened in the few seconds he took his eyes off of her, but you never know! There are snakes in forests! Along with other, equally sneaky, creepy, crawling creatures that he didn't prefer dealing with, Clan-born cat or not. It was not the case that something physically got to her though. No, that was a sigh of emotional pain. Was it something he said? She knew he was teasing her, though. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt her. Was it something else? "Did someone hurt you?" he asked, a protective feeling growing in his chest, ready to go after the idiot who would do that, unknowingly sinking his claws into the soft forest floor at the thought.

He relaxed slightly, his claws sheathing themselves. At least someone had not hurt her. He was still worried, it's true it was warm out, but maybe she was also dehydrated? That would explain the dizziness. He thought for another minute before speaking. "Hey, isn't there a pond in that clearing we found as kits? Maybe you want to take a swim or something there to cool off?" I wouldn't necessarily recommend drinking from it though." He said, shivering as he remembered the one time a clanmate drank from a stillwater pond and got really sick. "You can lean on me if the dizziness gets to be too much. Don't worry about the prey, we can come back for it later. Your wellbeing is first and foremost, m'lady." he added, a bit of his teasing self coming back. His concern still showed in the way that he has not removed his tail from around her shoulders.....not like he would even if he weren't still worried, but it's a good excuse.

She nodded, a cool bath would do good. Although had it really been the sun that made her feel like this, it had to be right? She listened to her heart, it was beating a little faster than usual, but she didn't feel sick or anything. Cloudheart had to acknowledge that she actually just really liked Sharptongue and that all of the teasing had been too much, still he was so cute. "You calm down, you're getting in my nerves", the peach coloured she muttered to herself. Couldn't she just stop, maybe swimming would be nice even if she didn't feel too dizzy anymore after she cleared her thoughts a bit. As he offered that she could lean against him, her eyes widened slightly. Not more of this, she was getting crushed by all the teasing and flirting, as if the tail on her shoulder that was STILL there wasn't enough already.

"I'm fine, let's just go swimming."

She was embarrassed and her ears twitched from how nervous she was, somewhat in his demeanour had changed that had effected her differently than usual. Cloudheart still smiled slightly to signify that she was alright.

Sharptongue blinked in slight surprise. He was close enough to hear her muttering under her breath, but all he caught was "calm" and "on my nerves", and he was a bit bemused. 'Is she....talking to herself? I don't think I did anything...' he thought. He noticed her eyes widen when he offered his shoulder to lean on, and he almost laughed out of pure bemusement. What had her all flustered? She hadn't reacted this way before. He'd always taken care of her when she was sick. He was actually fairly certain he'd made the medicine cat annoyed with him on multiple occasions because he simply wouldn't leave her side. He got worried if she so much as coughed during allergy season. He may act like a flirt, and kind of uncaring towards others, but around her he absolutely melted....if only she knew what kind of effect she had on him.... without her having to ask him or anything of the sort, of course. He wouldn't know what to say if she ever asked him such a question. He was brought out of his thoughts (again) when she said she was fine. He nodded. "Alright, if you're sure Cloudy." he said, and began to walk towards the clearing at a pace that kept him next to her. I'm sure you're wondering. Did he take his tail off from around her shoulders? No. She hadn't said she was uncomfortable with it yet, nor tried to shake it off. Plus, if she suddenly had a dizzy spell, he wanted to be there to catch her. Can't have his best friend passing out now, can he?

Cloudheart nodded, he head was held slightly low so she didn't have to look into Sharptongue's eyes. She feared if she did look into his eyes she wouldn't be able to hold the eye contact.

"I'm sure"

She tried to regain her usual confidence and lifted her head a bit, still keeping her eyes straight forwards and spoke rather to the surrounding than Sharptongue.

"Now stop worrying, it was just a dizzy moment."

Cloudheart giggles lightly and nudged against the Tom's shoulder before she ran forwards to get him to follow her. Really she wanted to get past the awkward flirting phase, although it was very fun. She wanted to get into a relationship but what if Sharptongue didnt want to, she'd rather stay friends than ruin the friendship she had treasured since her kit days. He had always been her best friend, no question. But even if they were always together she wanted to be together EVEN more. Cloudheart wasn't sure if she could ever confess her feelings though, perhaps she could talk to one of the other she's of the clan, Maplefern maybe, she was nice.

Maplefern looked over at the two cats from the nursery. "At least I don't have that problem anymore." She groomed her fur, laughing quietly.

“When I was new to the clans, I liked Nightsong. Not anymore obviously. But you two seem like a good couple.” She glanced at Nightsong. “I can’t be with the Tom I like though.” Onyxcloud purred at the thought of the tortoiseshell Tom.

Mountainstep sat down, meeting Sharpcry’s gaze. “I guess. Kit’s are really fun to play with, especially when they’re older. I mean, I want kits someday, so I just play with them. It could be moss ball, badger rides, or something else, and I would play with them.” He glanced inside of the den.

She was a little taken aback that Onyxcloud fulled admitted that she had liked Nightsong. She did let her thoughts run wild now as she thought about Nightsong and how…..flirtatious he was. Would he still be that way if or when they become mates?
