Surprised, Sharpcry stumbled backward as the kit ran out towards her. "Oh my!" she yelped. She had let her thoughts and emotions distract her from her surroundings. Clearing her throat she gave her chest fur a quick lick to hide her embarrassment before quickly regaining her regular stoic composure. "Actually, we came here to tell you some stories. Thought you might enjoy hearing about those FogClan cats from earlier."

Mouth open slightly, Lakefur tasted the air; searching for prey. He hadn't yet eaten and thought hed grab a few prey to bring back to the fresh-kill pile.

“Really?!? I wanna hear it!!!” Larkkit meows loudly and jumps off of the she-cat’s tail to jump around with his tail high. The small tom looks at Sharpcry with adoration and he runs underneath her belly to look up at her from underneath her chest fur.

“Tell me too!” She bounded out of the den, laying down near Sharpcry’s tail. Hollowkit began to bat at the deputy’s tail. “Larkkit told me about the she-cat who went over our border, but what else happened?”

He looked down at the tortoiseshell kit, then at Sharpcry. “Why don’t you tell them? “ Mountainstep’s pale blue eyes were trained on the deputy. “You’re more observant, and you are the deputy. Every kit wants the deputy to tell them a story.”

Rivertail walked quietly through the territory sniffing occasionally of new scent or scents of prey. He trotted along thinking about his clan and the kits and wanting an apprentice. It was true he did want to have his first apprentice.

She lied quietly beneath a tree as she groomed her fur. She had found it to be dirty after all of her running around to find herbs and such. She sighed soft as she thought to herself about what? Who knows.

"Very well then" the she-cat began after meeting Mountainsteps gaze. She wrapped her tail neatly around her paws and looked down at the kits eager little faces. They stared up at her wide-eyed. Sharpcry was not the best at telling stories, but she wanted to impress the kits. She quickly thought how she could make the story a little more interesting than it was.
"As you know, earlier today a FogClan warrior came into our territory unannounced. Despite Rivertail and Mountainstep being there, she was unafraid. In fact, it seemed she was having fun taunting us !" She waited a few moments for the kits to settle down. It helped give her time to think of more things to say . "Then I showed up with a patrol, and she seemed so scared that suddenly a few other FogClan warriors had to show up for backup! " She went on and on for a while before finishing up her story with a good lesson. "...and despite that, we were able to leave without a fight. Remember, it is not favorable to start fights unnecessarily, even if they were in the wrong. Its important to know when or when not to bare your claws. You must stay vigilant"
Without even realizing it, Sharpcry was smiling as she finshed the story. Her green eyes glowed. "Is there anything you want to add, Mountainstep?"

The large tom crouched down, spotting a mouse bustling about under a bush. He crept closer, ignoring the unfamiliar scent that was drifting towards him. Suddenly the mouse darted to the side, but Lakefur caught it in one swift movement. "Not so fast" he said, before delivering a killing bite.

Larkkit looks up at Sharpcry with wide eyes and an open mouth. For the first time in moons some cat was able to make the kit silent. The small tabby went deep into his thoughts, thinking about the lesson the deputy just taught him and the other kits.

Newtstar was brainstorming about possible mentors for Fernkit, Larkkit, and Hollowkit. Pinesplash? She's snarky but apparently has a soft spot for kits. Newtstar recalled his earlier hunting session with the she-cat. Hmm... maybe. Sharpcry? She's very hardworking, but she already has her deputy duties. She'll make a great mentor, though. Mountainstep... Soothawk... Rivertail? Rivertail might be too young. Although... Newtstar stood up and stretched. I wasn't much older than Rivertail when I had my first apprentice. He's still a possible choice. He padded to the exit of his den and sat there, watching his Clan. I wouldn't mind a second apprentice either.

As they finished listening to Silentwhisper's border patrol report, he sighted, relieved that it probably wouldn't make any more trouble than they already had with Fogclan. He looked over at ShadeStar hoping to also see him not as nervous as before the report was finished. Would they tell the clan about their relationship now? Did they even have to or would they just start being closer to eachother infronr of their eyes? He had never had any relationship before, so he had no idea how couples did it...

Sharptongue was a bit confused why she was avoiding his eyes, but he removed his tail from around her shoulders. Maybe it was making her uncomfortable, and she just didn't want to say anything about it? He grinned when she nudged his shoulder, relaxing more. 'I guess it really was just a dizzy spell. She seems alright now.' he thought, happily following after her towards the clearing. When she began to run, he chuckled and quickly sprinted past her, his longer legs easily able to cover the distance. "Keep up Cloudy!" he called back as he ran forwards, the adrenaline pumping through his veins making him grin like a madcat.

The she-cat almost chuckled. She had to admit, usually she was around Bloodclaw when she just wanted peace and quiet. Now that she thought about it, she wasn't sure she'd ever had a proper conversation, she'd just enjoyed the peace and quiet of his company. She hadn't realized he was so shy. "Oh yeah? Did you get to go on patrol today?" she inquired. She understood that sometimes clanlife could be a bit static, the same thing each day. This made it quite easy for days to be uneventful. "Oh, by the way, my name's Falconflight." she added, realizing she probably hadn't introduced herself to the tom before. She had probably found out his name in passing, that seemed to be how she figured out who cats were.
