Abbi sat throwing darts at a piece of cardbored in the main room of the bunker. It was a nice place they had found this time. had two separate rooms: a bathroom, and the rest of the house.

Flora sat nearby, watching Abbi throw train. She was deep In thought,
“How come this bunker was abandoned? It was filled to the brim with supplies and there wasn’t anyone in here…”

"I heard some people go mad from staying in a bunker, maybe whoever was here went insane and ran out."
Abbi got up and walked over to the supply box, picked up a can of corn and sat down to eat. "Want some?" she asked, clearly not actually wanting to share her precious corn.

“Meh. I don’t feel like eating right now…” Flora got up and started pacing around the room and spilling out all her anxious thoughts. “I hate how out in the open we are. What if someone finds us and…. Or what if the zombies get to us? This bunker doesn’t have many safety measures…” she sighed.

"We'll be fine!" Said Abbi, "And if someone finds us, i will just seduce him to let us go." Abbi said striking a pose. She laughed. "Seriously, i don't think they would do much more than force us out, and we need to leave soon anyway," Abbi told her. "Were nearly out of corn!"

Flora smiled and rolled her eyes at the ridiculous pose. “Still… we shouldn’t stay here longer than we need to. The safest bunkers are in the mountains, so maybe we can start working our way there next?”

"Okay, we'll go tonight." Abbi smiled. "Grab your bag and stuff as much food in as possible." Abbi spread out on the couch and started an evening nap, so she would have energy to travel that night.

“Leaving me with the busy work, hmm?” She joked and grabbed her bag. She started stuffing food and other stuff like extra blankets and clothes in it, then settled down on a small chair and pulled out a map. She studied it for awhile, and took notes of where they’d have to travel. They can wait for later. She put the map away and closed her eyes.

Abbi kicked flora in the leg and threw her bag on her lap. "It's nearly midnight cupcake, rise and shine."
Abbi was wearing a black, cropped hoodie with a broken zipper and baggy pants. "I'll wait for you outside."

Flora groaned and slid out of the chair. She threw on some shoes and a light jacket and joined Abbi outside. “Oh! I checked the map and stuff,” she pulled out her notebook and the map to show Abbi the directions, “there’s an abandoned city a little north of here, it’ll be dangerous but a good way to restock supplies before we go into the mountains.”

" Great! We can get there tonight if we hurry. Then we'll stay for the day."
Abbi and flora hurried along.

After a few hours they arrived at a lake. Abbi washed her face and got a drink before dipping her tired feet in.
The moon was lovely. "Are you okay, cupcake? You seem tense." She said.

“I’m just… worried” she said as she was refilling a few water bottles with the fresh water, “nothing in particular but… did you hear about that bunker that was broken into and raided by zombies?” She sat back in the grass and watched the moon. “I just feel stupid. I’m wasting so much time trying to find my family but… they left willingly. I know they didn’t want to leave me behind but sometimes it feels like that. I’m just worried something will happen to them and they won’t know how hard I’m trying to reach them..”

Abbi smiled softly. "It's o-" Abbi and flora hear slow footsteps coming from behind. Abbi jumps and aims both guns to whatever is coming's head. A little boy with pink-purple skin messy hair and a foaming mouth emerges, He seems aggressive but you can see fear in his eyes. Abbi freezes. The boy reminds her of her son.

“Abbi- don’t. It’s not him that boy is infected we HAVE to go. “ flora grabbed the bags slowly and held Abbi’s arm, but she wouldn’t budge. “Abbi NOW. We need to go NOW.” The boy was slowly approaching.

Abbi snaps out of it but it's too late, the boy jumps at her, mouth open. Abbi in shock fires both her guns at the boys chest. The boy stops jumping at her out of fear and falls to the ground. Abbi looks at the boys bleeding body and screams. For the first time in Floras life she saw Abbi looking helpless.
The boy squirms and wriggles aggressively until he eventually goes limp. Abbi is crying on her knees and mumbling incoherently.
