"It's okay, It's okay. W-we have time. I'm going to search for anything to help, y-you just rest and keep hy- what are those?" Abbi picked up the papers and read. It mentioned the rabies infection and potential treatment for it. Abbi cried and smiled. "I'm going out, I'll be back quickly!"

“Wha-“ Abbi already ran away with the papers before Flora could respond. Flora pushed her bag to the side and used it as a pillow, then grabbed a blanket from inside and wrapped it around herself. It wasn’t cold, but she was shivering.

Later, Abbi came back with medicine, water, blankets etc.
"Okay, cupcake, wake up." Abbi help Flora sit up and gave her water. "Drink this to flush your body out." She said. Abbi pulled out a needle. "You alright with these?" She joked.

Flora was weak and tired. She just mumbled some things and then pulled her sleeves up to allow Abbi to treat her. “What did you find?” She looked away from the needle

"Not much, just simple treatment. This is a post Rabies shot. It'll help." Abbi injected the liquid and put another blanket on her. " We'll have to stay here longer. Until your fully healed." Abbi said. "Now rest, I'll find food."
It was afternoon now and both of them were starving.

When Abbi came back with some food, Flora was shaking and crying. “What if it doesn’t work?” She looked at her hand and her eyes widened even more. “It’s spreading… “ she turned her head to Abbi with a terrified look on her face.

Abbi looked at her discoloured hand. Abbi had nothing to say, she just fell down and hugged flora. "I love you..." She sniffled, "please..." Flora felt tears fall on her shoulder. She felt guilt build up in her stomach. Why had she made Abbi help her find her family? She had just ruined everything. "Don't go.." Abbi whispered. Flora felt Abbi shaking.

Flora cried alongside Abbi, then eventually stopped. They fell asleep next to each other, but Flora stood up shakily and whispered to Abbi, “I’m going to do something. You have to promise not to freak out.” She gave her one more hug, making sure not to touch her with her infected hand, then walked away to one of the surgery rooms. She rummaged through the surgery tools and refrigerators looking for numbing supplies. Eventually she found a few bottles and injected her arm with the numbing. “…this is a terrible idea.” Flora said to herself. But if she didn’t do it, the infection would spread. So she picked up the bone saw, and did her best not to faint.

(It’s all good!! I don’t care as long as it’s nothing drastic lol!)

Abbi screamed. "Flora what are you doing?!?!" But it was too late the arm was gone.

2 days later.
Abbi sat packing for both of them. Stuffing in food clothes etc. She had washed their clothes while they were there.

Flora was not used to the lack of her right arm yet, but she no longer felt sick. Her arm hurt though, at least what was left of it. “It’s a long ways to the mountains, I found a couple bunkers we can stop by before we get there. Maybe we can restock, if the survivors aren’t hostile.” Or infected, but that part was left unsaid. Flora picked up the last supplies they had and followed Abbi outside.

"Okay." Abbi smiled. "Let's go halfway tonight."

Hours later they arrived at where they planned to stop. There was a old cabin. "So we're staying in there?" Said abbi.
"Seems lovely!" Abbi burst in and threw her bag down. She stopped a moment to look at the cabin. It had a bedroom, a bathroom and then a living and kitchen half separated. The was a bit of mess and holes in the walls, but it would do.
"Okay cupcake, i'll cook breakfast, you rest your arm." They had recently found a grocery store in the abandoned city and hand got their hands on some proper food.

Flora woke up to the smell of eggs bacon and toast. Abbi was wearing a cropped turtle neck and shorts. "Morning!" Abbi smiled whilst looking at her gun. "I'm out of ammo." She said, " We're gonna have to find a town with a gun shop."

“A town?” Flora struggled to unroll the map, but eventually did and studied it intently, “there’s one a little west of here, but it may at a day or so to the trip.” She looked up at Abbi. “Is that alright?”

"Yea-." Abbi looked at Flora. "Where did you get that map anyway? No map I've ever seen has bunkers pointed out on it."

Flora smiled proudly, “made it myself! Before I got… separated with my family, we got as much information as we can on the area and bunkers and stuff because they hoped I would make it back to them… or at least find a safe bunker. So it may not be updated, but it gets the job done.”

"cool." Abbi said, muffled by the egg in her mouth. "Sounds good, the town i mean, when should we leave?"
Abbi put down her plate and threw herself into a more comfortable position.
