Jay He paused to consider, his tail flicking back and forth subtly in excitement. This was good. 'Sure! My housefolk are away, I'm sure they won't mind. Anything to get away from their dog.' The tom glanced back at his housefolk's bare garden before reluctantly jumping down from the fence into the neighbour's. He shuddered at the long grass that brushed against his paws and the visible ants that scuttled in orderly lines behind each other, stifling a terrified hiss and recoiling. Such a massive cat being this uneasy around bugs wasn't a great look for him but he was too worried to care. Jay backed away, settling on a flatter path that had been evened out by a while of paws wearing down the earth. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hawktalon nodded, "Of course. I assume the first step is getting mentors for our apprentices. Which I believe you've done." She looked throughout the camp, her eyes grazing over the dispersing cats. She tried to think of what suggestions would make it work without tiring everyone else. "The warriors could probably stand to take on one or two apprentice duties while the young ones are training more, and since we don't really live near any other clans, we could temporarily spread out border marking patrols. These are all suggestions of course." Her amber eyes stared forward in thought. "What did you have in mind, Owlstar?" Her ear swiveled in his direction, wanting to see how her leader wanted to go about this. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar He listened carefully to her suggestions, ears pricked. A couple warriors doing apprentice duties would certainly be nice, and spend up the cleaning of camp. He'd get Thrushtail to pick few warriors to get on that in a bit. Best to have another cat assign the more unpleasant chores. Casting a glance around camp, he felt a slight sense of annoyance. It wasn't quite in the best shape after leafbare, but if he could get the clan in shape, it could be fixed easily enough. He nodded in response to her other two answers, thinking. What should he do? The solution came to him quickly enough. "I was thinking we could divide the clan into teams of two or three, and have them spar, to simulate battles between the clan, and a small group of rouges, or loners. Might want to switch the teams up, every so often. Claws sheathed, of course, but if cats need to rest, we should have enough warriors to keep the training going for a while." Owlstar shifted slightly, in response to a breeze that swept through the camp, stirring the pine needles that lay in small drifts on the clearing floor. Toby He watched as jay jumped down, having to hide a slight smile when the large tom seemed slightly disgusted, or was it scared, of the ants that crawled through the soft green grass. Holding back a purr of amusement, he looked of to Aureum. She would probably still be tired form the night spent out in the cold, but she might still want to come, and help show the newcomer around. "Aureum? Do you want to tag along? I was planning to take Jay around the neighborhood a little, show him the park, the best places to cross the thunderpaths, that sort of thing." Toby smiled up at the young cat, still perched on the fence, small claws dug into the smooth, painted wood. He could practically see the kitten fluff still lining her pelt. A slight breeze had picked up, giving him cause to shiver slightly, his fluffy orange fur mostly insulating him from the cold. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mudpaw Mudpaw started cleaning his chest and bend to scrape off the dirt that got stuck in his back fur during the patrol earlier until its all clean. Then, he raised his right paw to check his muzzle where he was bitten on his first hunt. The bleeding stopped on its own so he thinks he doesn't have to trouble Gentlebreeze but it looks like it will give the young apprentice a fresh scar after the wound dries out. He padded his paws off as he reached a nice shade inside the camp to rest. He circled his chosen spot and laid on it. There wasn't much to do now until later. His mind wandered to Olwstars announcement just a while ago, his eyes went half-closed as he thought of what kind of things he'll actually learn once they begin their training. 0 players like this post! Palewind The she cat took her prize the tooth with her as she began to make her way to her nest to keep it safe. She would leave it in there so it could stay safe while she was away. She set it gently in her nest before leaving the den once more. She looked around camp at the cats, she sat down debating on what to do. Since Owlstar was still getting everything settled with Hawktalon perhaps she would have time to see Gentlebreeze? Make sure she was okay and all.” I think I’ll have time. They are still getting all the details worked out after all.” She said to herself as she rose to her paws and began making her way to Gentlebreezes den. Crowflight The Tom watched Owlstar approach Hawktalon and rose to his paws, deciding it would be best to probably not listen in on their conversation. He watched Palewind for a moment as she went to the warriors den to put her tooth in her nest. Interesting a tooth for a prize, he wondered what kind of tooth it was to make Owlstar think it was a worthy prize. The Tom shifted to a less crowded part of the camp and began grooming his fur, he figured if anyone wanted to talk to him they would. He huffed as his fluffy fur was still messy and spikey as he tried to groom it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hawktalon "Sounds good to me. If you need my help with anything else, I'm more than happy." Her gaze followed Crowflight as he went off. She wondered why she hadn't noticed him before now. But she could talk to him in a moment, right now, her gaze shifted to Sootpaw. "I'm sure you'd be honest with me, Owlstar. What are your opinions so far on Sootpaw? I know we have yet to see him fight, but I value your opinion." She wanted to hear what he had planned for her brother. She felt a bit of guilt for not being there for him, but she didn't want to just lean on that forever. If he had what it took to impress her leader, then that's how the leaves would fall. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar He flexed his claws slightly, watching Palewind walk away with her prize. Finally, that was over. It had taken a lot longer that he would've liked to get the ceremony over with, what with cats wandering out of camp, and then the rain, but it had eventually been done. A slightly chilly breeze blew by, stirring the thick fur between his ears, making them twitch slightly. Wind was picking up a little, making the thinner trees around camp sway slightly. "Sounds good to me. If you need my help with anything else, I'm more than happy." Owlstar nodded, bringing his yellow-green eyes back towards Hawktalon. He needed to keep his focus on the cats he was talking to, and stop getting distracted by the wind. He wasn't a kit, so he shouldn't be getting distracted by every falling leaf. "Great. I'll let you know if something comes up!" Owlstar was about to leave, go find Thrushtail, and get the training started, when Hawktalon's focus turned towards her brother, Sootpaw. Owlstar understood pretty quickly what Hawktalon was about to ask, but waited until she was done speaking to give his reply. "Of course I'd be honest with one of my senior warriors, Hawktalon." His sentence ended in a slight purr, before he continued. "He looks to be a decent hunter, a cat has to be to survive alone for long. Probably won't be to used to group work, but if he stays, that should be able to change quickly enough." Owlstar considered his next words carefully. "Personality wise, he seems like a decent cat. He'll make a solid warrior with a little more training, and if he gets along well enough with the clan, he'll be a good addition to Pineclan's ranks. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nettlesnap The tom shook his ruffled pelt, forcing his fur to lie flat on his shoulders. The meeting had been boring, most of what these clan bloods did was boring, thinking about it. He lifted himself to his paws and winced at the protesting bruise still numbing his back paw, muttering a quiet curse to Starclan under his breath. The pain only worsened his sudden bad mood and he couldn't confide in any other cat to lessen It. Despite his attempts to remain supportive of his friend he couldn't help a writhing jealousy for Palewind's success, avoiding looking at the she as he walked briskly back to the warrior's den. Palewind had done great, but he should have gotten some credit at least. He had scored a few hits on the beaver and he did lure it over in the first place. If it hadn't been for Hemlockshade stopping him he could've done more in the fight other then sit around like an injured bird. The others thought he had abandoned the fight, he could tell. The condescending words of the older clan bloods hadn't left a good taste in his mouth and he still could remember it vividly. They saw him as an outsider, those finchbrained limps. Nettlesnap pinned his ears flat against his head and padded into the secluded warrior's den, breathing in the familiar scent of pine. He was annoyed, that much was clear to any cat who risked looking at him. Likely wanted to be left alone. Atleast till he could find something else to think about other then his hatred for all things clan. ----------------------------------- Jay His eyes widened and he stared at Auream blankly, surprised. The cat was even smaller up close! 'Are your housefolk not feeding you guys?' The tom meowed finally, no traces of sarcasm or anything of the like in his voice. He just seemed genuinely clueless, like he had never seen another cat. He hadn't really. His housefolk kept him inside with that yappy dog whilst they went off to who knows where. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/02/24 @ 15:08:14 by 🎩Fancy fork [Cutlery] 🍴 (#427147) |

Toby He looked over at Jay, confusion clear in his slightly tilted head and flattened ears. Had Jay really never seen a normal sized cat before? Usually, his twolegs fed him a little too much, and he ended up leaving it in the bowl. He shook out his coat slightly, wondering if Aureum was going to respond, or if he should continue the conversation as he had been. He occasionally talked over other cats, and needed to remember to let other cats have a turn. His tail was flicking cheerfully, as he watched the much larger tom. //I meant to post this a while ago but forgot to click the post button aaa 0 players like this post! Like? |

Gentlebreeze She organized her herbs, making sure they were in their correct piles. The fur along her scruff was raised, signalling her unsureness. Gentlebreeze had seen the clear irritation in Owlstar's glare. If she could just avoid him and her clanmates for a day, perhaps they'd forget? No.. Definitely not. Owlstar wouldn't forget something like that. Gentlebreeze knew she had to set up Owlstar to meet Toby. But how? Her ears twitched as she heard Owlstar talking of practing battle moves more. "This applies to everyone, with no exclusions. Regardless of injury, unless our healer decides against it. We wouldn't want to start behaving like a bunch of kittypets, after all." His words rang in her ears. Visions of Owlstar attacking Toby flashed in her mind. No. No. She wouldn't let him hurt Toby. Not even over her dead body. She would stand up for the tom, even if it meant risking her position in the clan. Aureum She had basically frozen. Her eyes were fixed on the massive cat. A barely audible growl formed in her throat whenever the cat named, Jay, moved suddenly. Her tiny, needle-like claws dug into the wooden fence beneath her paws. She was snapped out of her swirling thoughts when Toby turned to her, and spoke. "Aureum? Do you want to tag along? I was planning to take Jay around the neighborhood a little, show him the park, the best places to cross the thunderpaths, that sort of thing." he offered, a reassuring smile on his muzzle. Aureum looked over to Toby, glancing at Jay every so often. She thought for a moment. The young feline didn't trust Jay one bit. Part of her didn't want to go, and the other half did. She glanced over at her nest, the door still fully closed. "I guess.." she murmured, turning her gaze back to Jay. The massive tom terrified her, and in case he decided to hurt Toby, she would be there to protect her friend. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hawktalon Hawktalon nodded. "Understood. When you and Thrushtail come to a conclusion, let me know." She nodded in thanks, and went to go to the fresh kill pile. She found a well sized mole, and picked it up. She stood for a moment, wondering if she should go out of her comfort zone or not. With a steeling sigh, she took the mole and padded over to Crowflight, noticing he was alone. "Hey." She sounded more aggressive than she had intended. She tried to reel it back a bit. "I was wondering if you'd eaten already. If not, do you want to share this mole?" Sootpaw Sootpaw noticed Hawktalon talking to Owlstar, probably about him. He sighed, unsure of what to do now. He thought he could benefit from a nap. Until he was needed, he decided to go to the nursery and groom himself, then take a much needed nap. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar He watched Hawktalon pad away for a moment, grabbing a mole from the freshkill pile, before he slipped away, into his den, a nice, quieter place in camp. Hawktalon was still resting on the roof, but he didn't make much noise. With a slight huff, he flopped down onto the somewhat rough stone, his thick fur keeping him warm against the cool earth. It was nice to gaze out upon Pineclan, his clan, from his place in the shadows. Most of his clanmates were lounging peacefully, some biting into prey. He had spoken to Thrushtail a few moments ago, and they had agreed to start the training right after sunhigh, so they could train uninterrupted for a while. Thrushtail had been the one to give out the training details, so Owlstar didn't have much to do but wait. He could check on his warriors, but honestly? Owlstar uncurled into a stretch, green eyes roving around his den, narrowing as he noticed the small crack in the rock, nearby his nest. The slight glint that signaled the presence of his small fragment of the moonstone looked to be gone. He moved towards it with an almost lunge, claws unsheathed as he dug around the cleft in the rock for a few moments, relaxing the moment he noticed it shining from under his nest. Must've fallen somehow. He couldn't lose his last physical connection to the Shadowclan he'd once know. Resetting himself on the stone near his nest, he pressed his nose to the piece of stone, hoping that Starclan might finally notice, and send him some kind of sign... Toby Noticing Aureum's hesitation, and her slight glance towards her nest, Toby felt a slight pang of guilt. He felt bad for the younger cat, but it wasn't really like she could get back inside her nest anyway. "Our twolegs feed us plenty!" Toby answered, an amused purr lacing his voice, but his confusion at the question was pretty clear. "Well, let's go! Our first stop isn't very far, it's just a little park thing. There might be a couple cats hanging out, but they don't usually bother me, so they should be fine. Toby set off, tail held confidently high, ears pricked slightly as he padded down the hardstone path. As he walked, however, his mind slipped to Gentlebreeze. Had she made it back alright? What had her clan thought about her spending the night away? //Owlstar's open for interaction btw 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 20/02/24 @ 21:53:33 by The best snek (#274274) |

Crowflight The Tom perked his ears hearing Hawktalons question.” Sure. I haven’t eaten yet.” He stated his deep voice attempting to sound nice sine he didn’t think her slightly more aggressive ’hey’ was intentional. He was waiting for her to take the first bite of the mole, he didn’t want to be rude after all. Palewind The she cat watched Owlstar taking a moment to think , she followed standing outside his den she called into it.” Owlstar I hate to disturb you I was just curious about something.” She stated not wanting to intrude into the leaders what she would consider his safe space. She certainly wouldn’t like it if someone just barged into her nest. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar His eyes had been tightly closed, his back facing the entrance of his den as he pressed his nose to the cool stone. His hopes slowly sank as a few minutes passed. Nothing, yet again. He slowly opened his eyes, ready to go out, perhaps grab a little bite to eat before he started the training session, when he heard a voice at the entrance of his den. Practically jumping to his paws, Owlstar spun to face the den entrance, fur spiking. Upon seeing Palewind, Owlstar calmed. He had simply been surprised by her sudden arrival. Surreptitiously, he pushed the small fragment of moonstone closer towards his nest, hoping Palewind wouldn't notice. Making sure to sheath his claws, and remove the last few signs of surprise from his muzzle, Owlstar easily met Palewind's gaze from the shadows of his den. "Yes? Was it about the training session?" Owlstar stepped closer to the mouth of his den, blinking slightly in the weak sunlight. With all of his warriors in camp, he should probably start the training soon. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jay He tilted his head, puzzled at Auream's.. he didn't really know, fear? Anger? He had never been the best at reading emotions. Most of his concern was brushed off when the younger cat agreed to come along, assuming that was the end of it. The tom's ears raised to catch Toby's answer, a flicker o confusion crossing his face. These cats certainly didn't look like they were fed plenty, but they hadn't reason to lie to him. He padded after the other cat, careful not to get too close to Auream; that cat didn't seem to like him much, even he could recognize that. Jay strode carefully behind Toby, moving his focus to the grass under his paws and taking oddly precise care not to step on a bug. He would stop briefly for a few seconds just to look around, his bushy tail touching the ground. 'Are they feral cats?' He flicked his gaze to Toby, trying his best to match the smaller cat's pace. Would the neighbour interact with feral cats? He hoped not, he found cats in the neighbourhood much easier to interact with. 0 players like this post! Like?
