dry season decor shop

Here's the situation. I love a lot of the decor in this game. In particular, I love the environmental decor. Picking out the perfect plants and layering them to create the perfect scene. It's the best! But here's the issue. All these perfect plants I pick out? Yeah, I can't actually use any of them. That's because a large amount of (and arguably the best) environmental decor gets locked behind minigames. In particular, Reptile Roundup and Whack a Snake. Whack a Snake is more egregious than Reptile Roundup, but they're both not great.

See, very few people play Reptile Roundup consistently. And when you factor in the fact you have to choose between a wide range of levels, and you can get a rock after you score 100 points, the actual amount of each specific Reptile Roundup decor entering the game is very limited. And Whack a Snake? Well, no one plays Whack a Snake. Because it sucks. There is so much good decor in the prize pool, but actually playing and getting that score is not only extremely difficult, but deals what I believe to be genuine mental damage. To show you what I mean, here's a Whack a Snake vs Event shop decor comparison

that's 283 vs 9265 copies in game

Well maybe I could still manage to buy a copy...

Nope! See searching for any Whack a Snake decor is almost certain to return no results. And Reptile Roundup may have some on branches, but often for prices that make me want to just pick a different, slightly lamer plant.

So what's my solution? The Sand Pit. I'm not entirely married to the idea of it being dry season-locked, but I figured it would be easy to just suggest it as the sister to the Flood Pit. This mischievous little cat scavenges and finds plants to bury in the sand for later. And sell to us! The Sand Pit can include the following:

- Reptile Roundup backgrounds and decors
- Serengetti shuffle backgrounds and decors
- Whack a Snake backgrounds and decors
- New, exclusive eye/skin/marking applicators and decors

Here's a brief mock-up of it:

(ideally we would have a sand cat but im working with what i got ok)

*edit: the prices shown are not concrete values, they are simply the Flood Pit’s pricing scheme. additionally, the sand pit could take its own currency similar to the gorilla enclave. potential mechanic: playing any minigame awards you “sand dollars”, perhaps a finite amount once a day per game regardless of score. these sand dollars are the currency of the sand pit

If you're worried about this shop "devaluing" these exclusive decors and backgrounds. Fret not! As I said before, so many of these decors never even get sold, so they already have no value. But more seriously, this would have such a wide pool of decor that there would still be motivation to play their respective mini games if you wanted something more specific

This suggestion has 236 supports and 15 NO supports.

I will not repeat the same argument over and over again; its a stalemate of conflicting interests. You're hurt if the decors are expensive, I am hurt if the decors are cheap. I will not just bow and change my opinion because somebody says they're hurt playing a game; it is not a reason to hurt me, in turn.

Neither does not having certain decors on virtual lions hurt you in real life. Not an argument at all. We're talking about constructive criticism for a potentially damaging suggestion, and trying to change my opinion does not contribute anything to finding a proper compromise that would work for both groups of players.

IF I could buy decors and backgrounds for super cheap in this sand pit, i wouldn't bother playing the minigames cause there's no sense of achievement , like i feel good when i get a rare background or decor for being good at a game but if it's just readily available to get quite easily then why have the minigames exist in the first place

the minigames are just extra things to do, it's not a main feature of lioden really, it's an extra thing where you can get exclusive items and those are valuable and it feels good to get them and you can sell anything on lioden for however much you want if people are willing to pay, even if you don't agree with the pricing

if you could get ahold of those decors, i'm pretty sure you would also be looking to sell the ones you don't particularly want for a high price because that's what you can get for them

Hey so I wanted to start this out by saying I LOVE this idea, but I don't support it for a couple reasons.

Mostly I agree that some things should be kept rare. Just because some people aren't able to play Whack-A-Snake for the decor shouldn't be a valid argument as to why we should remove the rarity of those items, especially when so many people put time and effort into earning the items prior. No one is entitled to decors, and having some items that are genuinely harder to get in game makes people create goals. Someone being physically incapable of playing Whack-A-Snake for the exclusive decors shouldn't mean the solution is " Let's make it its now just randomly avaliable in a shop during dry season. "

So what's my suggestion?

1. Make the prizes avaliable in another game, like Serengeti shuffle, Reptile roundup on impossible mode, or Slot Machine in Jackpot. This makes it so the items don't immediately become avaliable BUT they are now in a larger prize pool that allows people who can't play whack a snake to easier obtain them. It also means that they won't suddenly become items sold for 200-500sb like in the Flood pit. (Which if Lioden implemented a sand pit, the prices would 100% be the same or very similar)

2. Make the point requirement lower in Whack A Snake to obtain the item.
More people would get it, price would go down, Yada yada you get the point.

Personally I see this as a non issue. If you really want one just save gb for if, as this suggestion really feels like a "well I don't wanna pay that much!"(/lh) and just because decor isn't the main focus doesn't mean the rarer decors value should be run into the ground.

However I'd love to see a sand pit with its own exclusive decors! It's a wonderful suggestion, just not imo a great suggestion for the purpose which it was intended.

I have edited the original suggestion to include that the sand pit doesn’t have to take SB. It could take its own currency, either earned by quests or by playing the mini games. In particular, I think earning a currency (maybe sand dollars ayyyy) by playing any of the mini games and being able to exchange them at the sand pit is a fun idea

That's what I was thinking, what if the sand pit had its own decors, I would love to see new desert themed decor, backgrounds and maybe even applicators like the floodpit

That is basically what I suggest as a compromise; games award Game Tokens instead of actual items, that can be spent in a shop to buy those items once you collect enough. Each game can have its own shop, for easier point counting. Ive described it in a post on last page.

"For example, Reptile Roundup gives Reptile Scales, 1 scale per each point you score. You can win a maximum of 100 points per day.
Background costs 100 scales, a decor costs 40 scales, etc.
You can play to 100 score in one day, or just collect 100 by playing for 10 scores for 10 days. Still can buy the wanted decor.

The assortment of decors it offers for sale can be random each day, OR be available all at once, but only allow you to buy 1 item per day (I kind of like this one, it'd make a unique shop while keeping the game prizes the same 1 per day they are now). Unlockable level prizes will still need to be unlocked to be bought.

Same for Whack-a-Snake, it can award Snake Fangs and again have a shop with a random assortment of items each day, and you can save your Snake Fangs over time to buy a decor/item you want.

With this - resellers can still make money off specific items, but casual players have a way to work their way towards buying the item they want themselves. "

Dry Season Shop would fit more having its own unique decors, rather than selling game decors. It would be quite weird to find Falling Water in a dry season shop, as it quite clashes with the theme of dry season
I would LOVE some Monkey Buisness decors moved to a seasonal shop, though. That'd make them more limited and make the shop itself less cluttered

i get your point! i actually have a suggestion for expanding the decor pool of Pin the Prey in particular to include some more mini-game exclusive decor. there’s also ample suggestions for changing how mini games award prizes. however, those suggestions have been up for quite a while and despite garnering a large amount of supports, have not been implemented. i mean, people have been complaining about Whack a Snake since its creation. this is just an alternative suggestion that devs could implement if they don’t want to edit the games themselves. devs have already expressed interest in creating shops that cycle through items from other sources, so i felt that this was a solution they may enjoy

PIN THE PREY EXCLUSIVE DECOR GIMMIE GIMMIE 0-0 I'd love exclusive decor from there, its my favourite minigame lol but i'm just getting zebra hearts :')

Whack a snake is a difficult game 100% and very time consuming, it takes me about 20 mins to get 1k points and that's a long time but the backgrounds are nicee

I kinda vibe with the token idea c:

Also I thought i recognised your username, you're coming from my ptp crown

The shop that cycles through various event items I believe was polled and got a lot of negative critique from players? The poll description said "This is under advisement and may not be added based on feedback." and I believe the discussion was not entirely in favor of that suggestion.
Edit: Admins reply in next post was "We appreciate everyone expressing their opinions about this poll within last week's Community Update. We will be discussing this internally. For now, do not expect any changes to the Rogue Trader feature as it is for the foreseeable future." so, the rotating event items idea was not put anywhere in soon consideration tab.

Suggestions in general are very slow! Some were years in being suggested before being added. If there's already a suggestion, creating another one wont make admins any faster to consider it, sadly.

oh MAN am i a pin the prey fiend. i guess i am living proof that people will play mini games without a real incentive because i do not need the dozens of zebra hearts i have stockpiled.

and yes! i am really liking the token idea. i think its a lot of fun. plus, it would breathe some life into the lesser appreciated games (do daily liomemo players even exist)

Would be really nice if tokens were added to Liomemo game too. Certainly would improve it. Ive only once played for the achievement - never opened it again

Tokens could also be included in prizes in ALL games - cups, slots. That would widen the variety of places they can be gotten from and make games section feel like a Faire, where you can win and spend tickets.

Speaking of game abilities - each user has their own. I suck at Pin the prey, cant get past 2000 score - the vile equine always finds a way to slip out. To each person their own!

besides you van only send score once a day and that's not even guaranteed decor. add that to the few people playing these annoying games and getting a high enough score and you get none of these decors in circulation.

liomemo currently has no prizes - reaching a certain score does unlock a reptile roundup level i believe though
