Chased/ Lions with stars should only be lions that were bred or modified by players. My reasoning: With the new star system to show us what's a Chased vs Ncl I think we need to change what counts as a "Chased". Meaning NCLs who were caught and released with no changes ( RMAs base/eye/main change) should not count as a chased or be used in the "Chased pool" |

There already exists a few in-game solutions to this that don't require heavy recoding to potentially break something else or exclude useful girls or dictate what other players can and can not chase. Karma Fodder (kill/reserve) or sell in packs for fodder buyers. Why do we need to make it complicated? The solutions already exist. It's adding extra, unnecessary layers to something that has multiple solutions. By selling to fodder buyers you lose NOTHING and you even gain SB! It's already the ultimate cheat code. There will always be people trying for karma leaderboards so it's not like the fodder buyers will dry up completely, especially if you're pricing cheap. ![]() |

I agree that re-chased normal NCLs are a huge problem clogging up the pool, but I disagree with the suggestions of deleting lions with either no heritage or no changes. Sometimes I claim a good chased lioness to check the marks, and if it's nothing that I want, then I re-chase her for someone else to possibly grab. Nothing like potato girls, these usually have quite a few markings. I'd hate for them to be deleted just because they weren't changed or had no heritage, and no one else has the chance to grab them. I get you could sell or give them away but I think it's fun finding chased lionesses like that, so I like to keep it going. I was thinking that mayyyybe (i don't know coding at all so idek if it's possible) if a lion was generated as an NCL maybe a tag can be generated on their code somehow and that could yeet them out of existence if chased? I feel that could solve the problem of re-chasing user-generated lions getting deleted along with NCLs if it's possible. ![]() |

@Cyanide Then you're at the mercy of the market, and there's no guarantee when or if your fodder is going to be bought. Plus, the main reason I claim potato NCLs is for the lioness quest, and in that case I'm not going to keep them around hoping that maybe someone will buy them, assuming I priced them right and there's interest- I already had to keep them in my pride for an hour, and putting them up for trade just adds more time that they're taking up valuable space when I could've chased them immediately once the hour is over so that I can claim more. ![]() Edited on 30/08/24 @ 17:16:45 by Con (G2 Torn) (#146481) |

There's a lot of threads and clans that can help calm the issue down! I've seen a good decrease in CNCLs because of this, which is amazing!! ![]() |

Con- I sell for 1 SB per NCL. I'm not making a huge profit, but I'm getting them out of my den. They sell. Yeah I m not worried about the mercies of the market. If they don't sell, price em cheaper. Or just chase them and maybe half, if that, might enter the pool. Who cares? The chased pool isn't infinite, it does actually get emptied. Removing NCLs from the chase pool doesn't achieve the goal of all of these 'no chased NCL' threads, which is nice lion for zero money. That's all it comes down to. No one is owed a nice lion from the chased pool. If you want nice lions in there, start chasing some. ![]() |

I feel like that the CNCL issue is slowly being fixed, meaning that we're actually putting a dent into the issue. I think. I hope. ![]() |

Coming back to comment on this: "it would be a HUGE coding project to undertake since its not an easy thing to track as all lions are chased by the same mechanism." This is probably not a huge coding project - certainly not more than anything else. To my understanding, it's a flag basically. The site is likely full of them - though without seeing the code, obviously we can't tell what uses what. But to try my best to explain in laymen's terms (because I'm also a laymen): A flag is a back-end modifier that is applied to something to signal special conditions. An example where a flag is probably used is those that apply to a lion that's infertile to signal to not allow it to be bred when in heat unless you use an item. Very likely, the only thing you'd need to apply a flag to is a lion generated by RNG in explore that a player claims. Once claimed, it has a flag applied that says "This is an NCL". It probably already has this in place because the name of the lion is automatically changed when it enters the pride, if I had to guess. That flag stays on the lion, and if it's chased again, the system for chased pool checks, sees "This is an NCL" and discards it from the pool. If someone is better able to explain this who codes, please by all means feel free to do so or correct me. I like learning about code and its functions., but I'm pretty confident I got this mostly right. ![]() |
