Community UpdateAside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community!
Official Lioden RaffleLINK - This is our official community update raffle. Everyone gets a chance to win a rare prize, plus something extra for any runner ups. Discussion Update: Raffle Lioness SystemAs mentioned in last week's Community Update #237, we have taken this past week to discuss which options we will be implementing. We will first start off with adding in a confirmation system. The confirmation system will work in such a way that a player must be online and rollover in order to accept the raffle lioness onto their account, and if they do not rollover in time, then she will be rerolled to another winner. The timeframe provided for a player to rollover and accept the raffle lioness will be 1 month (30 days) from when she is pulled. We will be looking into implementing a notification of sorts so that if a player has a linked account and they win the raffle lioness on one account, their linked account would receive a notification prompting them to rollover and accept the raffle lioness. We will also be adding in a raffle stud system, and will be ironing out more details as to how that would function in a future update. For now, these are the only updates that are confirmed and will be added in a future update. Nothing currently has changed with the raffle lioness system, and we will mention any updates in a future news post when they are implemented. If there are still issues with raffle-exclusive traits being difficult to pass after these are implemented into the game, we will look into potentially implementing the system of releasing raffle lioness traits on NCLs in explore. We would also like to clarify that based on the feedback we have received, and as it wasn't an option that was heavily supported in the survey, we will not be releasing full clones of raffle lionesses in explore.
Coding Bug Fixes* Double-purchasing of Custom Decors and most Oasis services should no longer be possible via refreshing * Markings in slots 11+ should now be visible again * Murphy has been given a grammar lesson and will now refer to "calfs" as "calves" * Reverse bred cub pages should now be visible again * Using a "Random Marking Replacer" will now properly award the "Hide the Evidence!" achievement

They lowered the decor/etc prices so that it wouldn't be as hard of a choice between, say, buying three decors or buying a GMO. I definitely appreciate that I can actually buy a couple backgrounds this year instead of giving up an entire Ochre Saltlick per background! While I may not necessarily like most of the other decor offerings, I still will grab a few things now that they're more affordable :) I do think that encounter rates could stand to be increased a bit, or at least looked into in case some sort of bug popped up. It doesn't feel great to find only 3-4 event encounters in a energy bar and just one of them ends up giving any JB. Kind of... lifeless? I planned to grind every day this month with two lambs per account, but it's not feeling as rewarding as I'd hope considering the amount of effort I'm trying to put in for it. I'm not looking forward to all of the tiers being unlocked, simply because once the community bar doesn't need to be filled anymore, all of the encounters that only increase the "Locusts Killed" amount (which is a significant portion of the event encounters we have) make the event a lot more stale. I hate that sense of "ooh, event encounter!" I get while exploring that fades as soon as I realize it's just one of the ones that doesn't give any beetles lmao 10 players like this post! Like? |

Well, one of my worst fears is coming true, the death to BO marking rarity. Do we *really* want these exclusive RL traits to become like Ukame marks? So widespread because of the August event that they're borderline worthless? I have no idea when we decided that, as a community, certain traits being very hard to get was a negative. The whole point of RL marked lions is that they're unique and highly sought after- it's what's propping up the entire market right now. Not everything needs to be "fair" to appease the portion of the playerbase who just want an easier time breeding a clone. Newsflash: this won't be the win you think it is when entire lines have no value from the start. Disappointed, but I shouldn't be surprised. I'm saying this in advance so that I get the satisfaction of saying "I told you so": the effects of this decision are going to be disastrous. But hey, they've made up their mind so all I can do is accept it and grab some popcorn to watch the whole thing implode. This is a strategic move, they don't care about the market because the harder it is to earn GB = the more people buy it directly from them. Same reason they released jags: money. They have a big enough playerbase they've realised they can milk us for everything we're worth. And the worst part? People on here are gonna eat it up. I'm absolutely devastated but I really should have seen it coming the moment they started popping out new bases like they were going out of fashion (when we have a catalogue of special and even 1 or 2 combo bases that are nearly extinct). It's just not worth my time to play anymore when I have to grind so hard on events and hunting food to sell on MB for very little return, now that lions only tend to sell for 200SB at best. There's no fun in breeding muties or combos anymore because you can't recuperate your costs 99% of the time. I had a Cloudburst for sale a while ago for 2GB that I couldn't even get rid of. Unless you're very early to breeding something new then you're all outta luck. Once the market becomes oversaturated it's nigh on impossible to sell and then all of a sudden you're 20GB down with nothing to show. I'm not online much anymore for this reason. I keep my account for nostalgia and because I'm attached to my lions but other than that I only roll once in a while. Again, I'm beyond upset because Rollover used to be the highlight of my day (to the point where I'd literally stay up all night waiting for it). i’m happy the raffle studs will be implemented. i don’t like having to fight tooth and nail to get the favor of another user or put pressure on said user to spread a new raffle marking. i want to have cute BO markings available while not having someone be pressured to play with their lion a certain way. sure, people who want to market and profit those markings will have less ability to do so, but raffle markings aren’t release for.. profit. they’re released to be enjoyed by the community… 0 players like this post!
